Classic Halo Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing pretty good today. No more headache, energy levels are pretty good and pain levels are back down to a 7.

Today is day 1 of the new makeup stash and the Tiny Decisions app chose a Halo eye look for me today.

For today’s look I used the Jacy Cosmetics Vintage Rose 30 Pan Palette ($39.99 for 0.21 oz / 66 g of total product on their website making it 0.007 oz / 2.2 g and $1.33 per shade) and the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Snap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette ($25 for 0.21 oz / 5.95 g of total product at Sephora making it 0.035 oz / 0.99 g and $4.16 per shade) in the color story #1 True Neutrals.

Today’s scent is…

Sol de Janerio SOL Cheirosa ’62 ($78 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 mL and $26 for 0.27 oz/ 8 mL of product at Sephora) was launched in 2020 and is a sweet and musky scent with notes of:

Top Notes: Pistachio and Almond.

Heart Notes: Heliotrope and Jasmine.

Base Notes: Caramel, Vanilla, Salt and Sandalwood.

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores) and the Makeup Revolution Soap Styler Brow Brush ($6 on their website) . I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I outlined and then filled in my whole brows using LA Girl Brow Pomade ($5.99 for 0.27 oz / 7.65 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown (the deepest color). I cut my brow line and primed my lids using Beckisue Eyeshadow Primer (is no longer on Amazon but there are several replacement brands with the same formula on Amazon) in the shade #1 (medium). I started by setting my brow line using the Fenty palette and the shade Nookie Rookie (creamy bone matte). I switched to the Jacy palette and chose the shade Elegance (pale peach based tan – matte) as my transition shade. I then used the shade Old Brown (dusty deep orange – matte) on the inner and outer 1/3 of the full lids (from lash to brow line). I switched to the Fenty palette and using the shade Cumin Get It (terra cotta brown – matte) I deepened the inner and outer 1/3 of the lids (but only half way on each side). I then deepened the inner and outer 1/3 of the lids using the shade Affogato (grey toned deep brown – matte). I then used more Beckisue Eyeshadow Primer to brighten the middle 1/3 of the full lids (from lash to brow line) and then I took a big fluffy brush to help blend out the edges of the primer and then I tapped the shade Tea (bright lime green – metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the lids and then I tapped the shade Dream (pink and peach duo chrome) over the top of that to give the halo more texture. For the lower lash line I first created a deep drop shadow using the shade Old Brown (dusty deep orange – matte) from the Jacy palette. I then went in with the shade Cumin Get It (terra cotta brown – matte) from the Fenty Palette. I then used a clean fluffy blender brush to buff out the harsh edges and then I placed the shade Affogato (grey toned deep brown – matte) from the Fenty palette closest to the lash line. I lined my lower water lines using AOA Buttercream Gel Liner & Shadow ($1 per pot on the Shop Miss A website) in the shade Extravaganza (sage green – metallic). I then highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using a combo of the shades Lace (icy white with a slight peach flip – metallic) and Velvet (icy white and pale teal duo chrome) from the Jacy palette.

Complexion:

I primed my face using Makeup Revolution Fix & Glow Ultra Glow Primer ($12 for 0.84 fl oz / 25 mL of product at Ulta). I contoured using NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop 24HR Full Coverage Matte Concealer ($8.50 for 0.11 fl oz / 3.50 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Walnut (deep deep with neutral under tones). I color corrected my under eyes using LA Girl HD Pro Corrector Concealer ($4.99 for 0.28 fl oz / 8.28 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Peach (neutralizes dark spots for light skin tones). I bronzed my facing using NudeStix Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze ($34 for 0.25 oz/ 7 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Bondi Bae (bronzed nude). I highlighted the high points of the face using Paw Paw: Glow Baby Liquid Highlighter ($1.55 for 0.20 fl oz / 6 mL of product each on the Shop Miss A website) in the shade Golden Rose. I concealed my under eyes using Beauty Bakerie InstaBake 3 in 1 Concealer ($20 for 0.19 fl oz / 5.62 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade #017 Frappe Hour (the 2nd lightest shade). I then sprayed my face with a bit of Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace Setting Spray ($18 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Ulta) to help melt all the complexion products together.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For my cream blush I used bareMinerals Bounce and Blur Blush ($29 for 0.19 oz / 5.39 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Pink Sky (poppy pink). I set my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder (no longer available due to company closing). I set my face using Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace Setting Spray ($18 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Ulta). I didn’t have to touch up my makeup today.

Final Thoughts:

I truly love the way this eye look came out!!! I love the blend of the shadows and that pop of glow in the halo… it’s almost looks wet… I truly love this look today.

Jacy Cosmetics Vintage Rose 30 Pan Palette ($39.99 for 0.21 oz / 66 g of total product on their website making it 0.007 oz / 2.2 g and $1.33 per shade). You get 15 matte shades, 12 metallic shades, 2 duo chrome shades and 1 pressed glitter. The formula on this palette is just as amazing as the Neon palette. The pigmentation on this palette is softer than the Neon palette but this gives the palette a more romantic feel. The color story is stunning and every shade is creamy and perfect. All the shades are:  Porcelain (dusty white – matte)Vintage (antique rose – matte)Blossom (deep mauve – matte), Pansy (copper- metallic)1900 (deep sage green – metallic)18K (clear base with gold glitter and a blue, pink, coral flip – pressed glitter)Mauve (soft pale mauve – matte)1920 (light orange based tan – matte)Carnation (light lavender – metallic)Garden (antique bronze – metallic)Olive (mid toned olive – matte)Orchid (pink based purple – metallic)Lace (icy white with a slight peach flip – metallic)Petals (coral – metallic)Taupe (deep red based taupe – matte)Roses (bright pink – matte)Tea (bright lime green – metallic)Passion (deep berry – metallic)Elegance (pale peach based tan – matte)Coral (soft coral – matte)Blue Vintage (turquoise – metallic)Dream (pink and peach duo chrome)Marigold (true marigold – matte)Tan (deep reddish brown – matte)Velvet (icy white and pale teal duo chrome)Rose Gold (deep rose gold – metallic)Gold 24 K (24 karat gold – metallic)Old Brown (dusty deep orange – matte)Burgundy (mid toned burgundy – matte) and Antique (dusty muddy yellow based deep tan – matte).

I give this palette solid an O+++!!! : These shadows blended like a cream and played well with other formulas of shadows from another company’s palette… They were easy to blend and easy to build up color. The shadows lasted all day with no creasing or patchiness. I am seriously impressed with this palette.

Jacy Cosmetics Liquid Glitter Lipgloss ($14.99 for 0.135 fl oz / 0.4 mL of product on their website) in the shade Oro (clear base with gold glitter and pink and teal reflects).

I give this lip gloss a solid A+++!!!! : In person this is such an amazing lip gloss!!! It has the same heavenly sweet cherry scent as the matte lipsticks, is not sticky and even though there is glitter in the formula it doesn’t feel gritty. This lip gloss lasted a very long time, through eating and even smoking. (Yes I know smoking is a bad thing, but I’ve tried everything to quit and haven’t been able to.)

Jacy Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick ($14.99 for 0.135 fl oz / 0.4 mL of product on their website) in the shade Araceli (coral) This formula is stunning! It’s a comfort matte formula that dies down completely matte and does not transfer.

I give this matte lipstick a solid A++ : It’s scented with a sweet cherry scent that is divine and this shade is amazing. It’s a great formula if you use 1 thin layer… if you go in with a second layer or a thicker layer it starts to feel gritty, drying and tight. I tried to alleviate that with gloss but the matte lipstick pilled up when I did this. I’ll still wear it but 1 thin layer only.

Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace Setting Spray ($18 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as a 360 degree fine mist that helps your makeup stay in place as if it was just applied.

I give this setting spray a solid O+++!!! This may be the best setting spray I have ever tried! I love the nozzle, I love the fine mist, I love the way it feels when it melts everything together. It doesn’t have an overbearing scent to it and it kept my makeup in place all day.

With that, today’s face of the day walkthrough is over.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and that you are in great spirits and health😄🩺

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick👄
