Purple Cut Crease with Graphic Liner Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Even though I wasn’t feeling up to it I still did my makeup today.

I try never to do my makeup when I don’t feel up to it because more often than not I end up with a look I truly hate. Today was no exception. But in true form, I’m posting the look because not every makeup look will be perfect… that’s just not realistic expectations and I want any of my readers who are new to makeup to see that even someone who has been playing in makeup for 36 years will have a bad makeup day… I mean even export makeup artists get it wrong from time to time.

For today’s look I used the MIKAYLA X GLAMLITE 30 PAN PALETTE ($42 for 1.26 oz / 36 g of product on their website making it 0.042 oz / 1.2 g and $1.40 per shade).

Today’s scent is…

Tom Ford Black Orchid ($49 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL, $95 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL, $136 for 1.70 fl oz / 50 mL and $190 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Sephora) released in 2006 is a warm gender neutral floral with scent notes of:

Top Notes: Black Truffle, Black Currant, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Amalfi Lemon.

Heart Notes: Spicy Notes, Black Orchid, Gardenia, Fruity Notes and Lotus.

Base Notes: Vetiver, Mexican Chocolate, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Incense, Amber, White Musk and Patchouli.

Let’s get into the walkthrough for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores) which I applied with a disposable lip gloss wand and combed through with a disposable mascara wand and once they dried I outlined and then filled in my whole brows using the Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.99 for 0.09 oz / 2.55 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dark Chocolate (the deepest shade). I craved out my brow line and primed my lids using the P.Louise Base ($14 for 0.54 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website) in Rumour 0 (white). For today’s look I used the MIKAYLA X GLAMLITE 30 PAN PALETTE ($42 for 1.26 oz / 36 g of product on their website making it 0.042 oz / 1.2 g and $1.40 per shade). I started by applying a stripe of tape to the outside edge of my eyes for a crisp out wing look and with the shade Frisky (deep berry purple – matte) on a medium sized fluffy pencil brush and creating a rounded 1/2 moon directly into the crease and just slightly above the crease…

The first brush I used – was used for my crease.

I then used the shade Paht Two (dusty true purple – matte) using a fluffy detailer brush I buffed the edges of the first shade 50% on the crease shade and 50% on the transition area.

The second brush I used – was used for the transition.

For the brow line transition I used a tiny compacted pencil brush and the shade MJ (pastel purple – matte) using the same 50/50 method to buff out the edge of the transition shade.

The third brush I used – was used for the brow line transition.

I then cut my crease using a flat concealer brush and some micellar water creating a rounded and elongated 1/2 moon shape.

The forth brush I used – was used to cut my crease.

I then took a small flat nail art brush and covered the newly cut crease with more P.Louise Base in Rumour 0.

The fifth brush I used – was used to apply primer base to the cut crease.

I then took a medium sized c detailer brush and the shade Portagee (deep purple with lilac pin points – metallic) and patted that over the outer 2/3 of the mobile lids, leaving a blank space at the very top of the cut crease.

The sixth brush – was used to apply metallic purple to the outer 2/3 of the mobile lids.

I then tapped the shade  Immaculate (lilac – metallic) over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids using my finger. I then took a medium sized fluffy crease brush and a combo of the shades Frisky (deep berry purple – matte) and Willow (deep reddish brown – matte) to deepen the outer v of the crease.

The seventh brush I used – was used to deepen the out v of the crease.

I then took a tiny c detailer brush and some micellar water and cleaned up the very top of the the cut crease and then used the same brush to apply some more primer base to the same area.

The eighth brush I used – was used to clean up the top edge of the cut crease.

I then used the ColourPop BFF Liquid Liner ($8 for 0.019 fl oz / 0.55 mL of product on their website) in the shade Graceland (pure white) to create a winged graphic liner along the blank space at the top of the cut crease and winging it out towards my brow tail.

The liner kept cracking so I took the same brush I used to apply the primer base to my cut crease and tapped NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL of product at Ulta) and then tapped Mother of Pearl Loose Glitter from Alora Cosmetics ($3 on their website) and then I applied a medium sized crystal to the arch of the winged liner.

For the lower lash lines I took more of the shade MJ (pastel purple – matte) to create a deep drop shadow. I then took more of the shade Paht Two (dusty true purple – matte) to smoke out the lower lashline, I then took whatever was left of the brush that I deepened my outer v of the crease with to deepen the outer 1/2 of the lash line connecting it into the outer v of the crease. I tight lined both the upper and lower water lines using the NYX Slide On Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($8 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Purple Blaze (true purple metallic). I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes using the shade Nahs (icy lilac with a strong silver shift- metallic).

Complexion:

I primed my face using Urban Decay All Nighter Ultra Glow Makeup Primer ($36 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Ulta) and then contoured my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, and sides of the forehead using the NYX Wonder Stick ($12 for 0.28 oz / 7.94 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Medium. For foundation today I used BECCA Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation ($44 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Cashmere. I bronzed my cheek bones, chin and forehead using bareMinerals Bare Pro Glow ($29 for 0.47 fl oz / 14 mL of product on their website) in the shade Warmth and with was left on the brush I dusted the bronzer over my nose. I concealed the sides of my nose to clean up my contour using the BECCA Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage Longwear Concealer (No Longer Available – has 0.21 oz/ 6 g of product) in the shade Linen. and then patted what ever was left on my sponge under my eyes to conceal them.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

As my cream blush I used Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick Blush ($4.49 for 0.21 oz / 5.95 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Peach Bums (coral). I set my under eyes using E.L.F. HD Under Eye Setting Powder (no longer available) and the rest of my face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($34 for 0.253 oz / 7.17 g of product on their website) in the shade Translucent. I touched up my blush using Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush ($40 at Sephora) in the shade At Night (brick red), bronzer using Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer ($30 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Park Ave Princess and highlighter using the Benefit Cosmetics Babe on Board 3 Pan Palette (was limited edition, has 0.14 oz / 4 g of the Hoola bronzer, 0.08 oz / 2.5 g of the blush and 0.05 oz / 1.5 g of the highlighter) in the shade Dandelion Twinkle (nude pink). I lined my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil (this shade is discontinued) in the shade Flattered (deep berry purple) and then filled in my lips using NYX Powder Puff Lippie ($8.50 for 0.40 oz / 11.83 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Senior Class (true purple) and then topped that all off with the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer ($19 for 0.3 oz/ 9 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Fussy (shimmering pink). I coated my lashes in 1 coat of Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara ($29 for 0.27 oz / 7.65 g of product at Sephora) and popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style Queen B. I then feathered hair strokes through my brows using Juvia’s Place i Sculpt, I Shade Brow Pen ($14 for 0.017 fl oz / 0.5 mL of product at Ulta and the Juvia’s Place website) in the shade Ebony (the deepest shade). I set my face using Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace Setting Spray ($18 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Ulta) and for touch ups I am using Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ($3.17 for 0.49 oz / 13.89 g of product at Walmart) in the shade Creamy Natural.

Final Thoughts:

I loved the lip look, and before I added the graphic wing to my eye look I did like it. I wish I would have just added glitter to the blank space of the top of the cut crease instead of trying a graphic liner on a day when I don’t feel good and wasn’t very motivated to really do my makeup. The blend of the shades was perfect the blown out edges of the lower lash line were great but that winged graphic liner was the wrong shape, was too thick and just breaks up the eye look in the wrong way… If I had to do it all again I would have just never have done the wing.

And with that today’s walkthrough is over….

I hope you enjoy your day/night 🌞🌜and that you are in great spirits and health 😄🩺.

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.👄
