Smokey Blue Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing pretty darn good.

Today I really tried to make a fall look using blue but fell short of my goal… it’s ok though, it’s a nice look just not what I was looking for.

Thank Goodness the week is almost over… I really am looking forward to new shadow selections….

For today’s eye look I used 1 shade from the LA Girl 16 Color Mastery Eyeshadow Palette ($15.99 for 1.23 total ounces of product at Ulta making it $0.99 and 0.077 ounces per shade ), 4 shades from the L.A.Girl Desert Dream Eyeshadow Palette – Mainstage ($15.99 for 35 g/ 1.23 oz of total product, making it $0.99 a shade at Ulta) and 1 shade from the MIKAYLA X GLAMLITE 30 PAN PALETTE ($42 for 1.26 oz / 36 g of product on their website making it 0.042 oz / 1.2 g and $1.40 per shade).

Today’s scent is…

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Revealed ($35.61 for 3.4 fl oz / 100.55 mL at Walmart) was released and is a powdery crisp floral with scent notes of:

Top Notes: Green Coral Orchid, Pink Peony and Pear.

Heart Notes: Bulgarian Rose, Lily, Mackay Orchid, Plum, Tiare Flower, Yellow Champaca and Orange Blossom.

Base Notes: Musk, Guaiac Wood, Black Amber and Oakmoss.

Let’s get into the walkthrough and eye pictorial for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I chose not to laminate my brows today, instead I just brushed them into place and filled them in with the Makeup Revolution Brow Pomade ($9 for 0.08 oz / 2.28 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using the P.Louise Eye Base ($14 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product on their website) in Rumour 0 (white). I added a piece of tape to the outer edge of both eyes to help create a crisp shadow line. For today’s look I used 1 shade from the LA Girl 16 Color Mastery Eyeshadow Palette ($15.99 for 1.23 total ounces of product at Ulta making it $0.99 and 0.077 ounces per shade ), 4 shades from the L.A.Girl Desert Dream Eyeshadow Palette – Mainstage ($15.99 for 35 g/ 1.23 oz of total product, making it $0.99 a shade at Ulta) and 1 shade from the MIKAYLA X GLAMLITE 30 PAN PALETTE ($42 for 1.26 oz / 36 g of product on their website making it 0.042 oz / 1.2 g and $1.40 per shade). I started with the LA Girl Mastery palette and a medium fluffy crease brush using the shade Devotee (warm brown – matte) all through my crease up to the middle of the brow line

I then went into the LA Girl Mainstage palette on a tapered crease brush and the shade Head Liner (neon blue – matte) and ran that through the crease almost completely covering the transition shade, leaving just enough peaking through to create a smooth blend, and also over the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids

On a fluffy crease brush I went into the Glamlite palette and using the shade Masshole (bright true blue – matte) I deepened the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid (over just the outer 1/2 of it) and up into the outer of the crease, blowing the shade out and toward the tail of the brows

On a small fluffy pencil brush I went into the LA Girl Mainstage palette and using the shade Black Out (dusty black – matte) I deepened just the outer v of the crease making sure to not take that shade any further than 1/2 way past the crease

I chose not to clean the mobile lids because I wanted to have a slightly blue base for the metallics to enhance, so I used my flat nail brush and applied some more eye primer to the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids

On a short detailer brush I went into the LA Girl Mainstage palette for the shade Black Out (dusty black – matte) and patted that over the ball of the eye (the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids) I took it just a tad past the ball of the eye to create a seamless blend for the next shade

Using the same brush and palette I went into the shade Thirsty (Light periwinkle – metallic) and patted that over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids feathering it over the first shade I used for the ball of the eye (middle 1/3 of the mobile lids)

I removed the tape and cleaned up the fall out on my under eyes. For the lower lash line I used the residual shadows that I used for the shades Head Liner (neon blue – matte) and Masshole (bright true blue – matte) to create a deep drop shadow I then lined my lower water lines and dragged that liner close tot he lash lines using the NYX Slide On Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($8 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Azure (bright turquoise – metallic) that I smudged out to create dimension on the lower lash line. I then highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using the shade Nahs (icy lilac with a strong silver shift- metallic) from the Glamlite palette. I then used the KVD Tattoo Liner ($22 for 0.019 fl oz / 0.56 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Trooper (black – satin) keeping it tight against my lashes to act as camouflage for my falsies’ lash band

Complexion:

I primed the face using the E.L.F. Jelly Pop Dew Primer ($10 for 1.01 fl oz / 29.87 mL of product at Ulta). I contoured my cheek bones, lips, sides of the forehead, bridge of the nose and jawline using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick ($26 for 0.25 oz / 7.10 g at Sephora) in the shade Amber (cool undertone contour). For foundation I used the L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation ($14.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade #420 True Beige. I bronzed the perimeter of my face using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick ($26 for 0.25 oz / 7.10 g at Sephora) in the shade Mocha (contour for light medium skin tones, cool undertone). I highlighted the high points of my face using the Huda Beauty NYMPH Not Your Mama’s Panty Hose All Over Body Highlighter ($49 for 1.85 fl oz / 55 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Luna (white/gold with hints of rose gold and silver). I color corrected my under eyes sing the LA Girl HD Pro Corrector Concealer ($4.99 for 0.28 oz / 7.94 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Peach. I concealed the sides of my nose to clean up my contour using the Uoma Stay Woke Luminous Brightening Concealer ($25 for 0.17 oz / 4.82 g of product at Ulta) in the shade White Pearl T2 (very fair skin) and then patted what ever was left on my sponge under my eyes to conceal them.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For my cream blush I used the NYX Sweet Cheeks Soft Cheek Tint Blush ($9 for 0.40 fl oz / 12 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Coralicious (coral). I set my under eyes using a little RMCA No Color Powder ($14 for 3 oz / 85.05 g of product on the Beautylish website). I set my bronzer using the MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 for 0.3 oz / 10 g of product on their website) in the shade Matte Bronze (bare shoulders bronze), my blush using the BECCA Blush (no longer in production) in the shade Flowerchild (coral pearl) and my highlighter using the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($5.99 for 0.19 oz / 5.9 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Blossom Glow (pearly pink) and then the rest of my face using the Milani Make It Last Setting Powder ($10.99 for 0.14 oz / 3.97 g of product at Ulta) in the shade #01 Translucent (light to medium). I lined my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 for 0.035 oz / 1 g of product on their website) in the shade Bumble (warm rose) and then filled in my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 for 0.035 oz / 1 g of product on their website) in the shade Cookie (warm brown nude – matte). I did 1 coat of Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara ($10.49 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Fiercest Black and popped on a pair of Vintage Vanity Cosmetics Lashes ($9 per pair on their website) in the style Diahann. I set my face using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna What it Dew Makeup Refreshing Spray ($30 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL and $18 for 1.35 fl oz / 40 mL at Sephora) because I ran out of the Beauty Bakerie one. I then created hair like strokes at the front of my brows using the NYX Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen ($11 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.89 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Espresso.

Final Thoughts:

I love a good blue eye look but I really didn’t like this look on me… I was trying to make it more fall like but to me it just seems muddy. I am looking forward to a new stash box this week, whilst I love all the products in week #1’s box I am ready to move on from bright colorful looks.

And with that today’s walkthrough and pictorial is over….

I hope you have a great rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and that you’re in great spirits and health 😄🩺

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.👄
