Fall Inspired Soft Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m in moderate amount of pain today but my fatigue is truly testing my limits today so I did an easy look for the first look of the new stash box…

I woke up wanting to have bangs so badly but knowing anytime I’ve ever cut bangs I’ve regretted it within 1/2 hour of cutting them… today is wash day but since I didn’t have the energy that it would take to wash my hip length hair… I decided to do a faux bang look today… I took just the very top of the crown worth of hair and put it in a very high ponytail at the front of my head on the last twist of the ponytail I didn’t pull the ends all the way through instead I let them fall to the front of my face and tugged gently on the bun it created until I had my “bangs” the right length and shape and then I through on a hat so that you couldn’t see the bun and the gap that the bun created at the sides of the bun.

For today’s look I used 3 shades from the Jacy Cosmetics Vintage Rose 30 Pan Palette ($39.99 for 0.21 oz / 66 g of total product on their website making it 0.007 oz / 2.2 g and $1.33 per shade) and 5 shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette ($45, on sale for $31.50 for 0.28 oz / 9.8 g of total product making it 0.02 oz / 0.7 g of product and $3.21 at retail price / $2.25 at sale price per shade on their website).

Today’s scent is ….

SOL Cheirosa ’62 Eau de Parfum ($78 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 mL, $26 for 0.27 fl oz / 8 mL rollerball at Sephora) was released in 2020 and is a warm, sweet scent with notes of:

Top Notes: Pistachio and Almond.

Heart Notes: Heliotrope and Jasmine;

Base Notes: Caramel, Vanilla, Salt and Sandalwood.

Let’s get into the walkthrough and eye pictorial for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using a bit of Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in the clear. I filled in my brows using the LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil ($5.99 for 0.003 oz / 0.085 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Blackest Brown (the deepest shade). I carved out my brows and primed my lids using the P. Louise Primer & Base ($14 for 0.507 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5 (pale nude). For today’s eye look I used 3 shades from the Jacy Cosmetics Vintage Rose 30 Pan Palette ($39.99 for 0.21 oz / 66 g of total product on their website making it 0.007 oz / 2.2 g and $1.33 per shade) and 5 shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette ($45, on sale for $31.50 for 0.28 oz / 9.8 g of total product making it 0.02 oz / 0.7 g of product and $3.21 at retail price / $2.25 at sale price per shade on their website). I applied a piece of tape to the outer edge of both eyes to create a crisp cat eye shape.

I started with the Jacy palette. I took the shade Porcelain (dusty white – matte) on a stout crease brush to set my brow line

Using the same palette for my transition i used the shade 1920 (light orange based tan – matte) and a fluffy crease brush from lower crease all the way up to the middle of the brow line

I switched to the ABH palette for the rest of this look and using a mid sized crease brush and the shade Ginger (Matte caramel brown) for my crease shade, taking it up to the 1/2 point of the shade before and over the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids

I then took a short crease brush and the shade Credit (Deep matte plum brown) I deepened the outer v of the crease, winging out the shade toward the brow tails and about half way past the crease

I then coated my lash curler with eye primer at the top edge and pressed it to my lids as a guide for my cut crease

I then took a small detailer brush and a medium flat concealer brush and some micellar water to clean up the space of the cut crease taking it 2/3 of the way across

I then took more eye primer and my thin nail brush to create the cut crease space

I then took a small packer brush and the shade Zamn (Sparkling rose gold) tapping it all over the newly cut crease

For the next part of the eye look I used 3 brushes to apply product and 1 brush to buff all the edges: I took a fluffy packer brush (the black brush bellow) and more of the shade Credit (Deep matte plum brown) to add depth back to the outer v of the crease. I used the fluffy side of a double ended utility brush (the gold brush with white and black hairs) and a combo of the shade shade Rose Gold (deep rose gold – metallic) from the Jacy palette and the shade Edges (Matte deep peach) from the ABH palette to add some depth to the ball of the eye (the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids). I then used the flat detailer side of the same brush and more of the shade Ginger (Matte caramel brown) from the ABH palette to give the outer edge of the cut crease a crisp edge. I then took the clean crease brush (the silver brush at the bottom of the pictures bellow) and buffed all the shadows to create the softest of cut crease and a uniformed blend

I then removed the tape and cleaned up the fall out from my under eyes and then applied a new piece of tape to the outer edge of both eyes so that I can create a winged liner

I used the ColourPop BFF Liquid Liner ($8 for 0.019 fl oz / 0.56 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Numero Uno (true black) to create a dramatic wing that extended to almost the tip of my brow’s tails

I removed the tape from my wings and then using a small concealer brush and a bit of my foundation I cleaned up my liner wing edges

For the lower lash lines I used a pencil brush and the shade Ginger (Matte caramel brown) from the ABH palette to create a deep drop shadow. Using the same brush and palette I smoked out the lash line of the outer 2/3 of the lash line using the shade Credit (Deep matte plum brown). I extended my winged liner in the inner corners of my eyes in a pointy triangle shape and tight lined the upper water lines using the Milani Stay Put 16HR Eyeliner ($8.99 for 0.01 oz / 0.28 g of product at Ulta) in the shade After Dark (black) and my lower water lines using the ColourPop BFF Crème Gel Liner (only offered in the like a charm liner vault for $40 for 12 liners) in the shade Show Me (vivid true copper). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using a combo of the shade Trust Issues (Sparkling white gold) from the ABH palette and Lace (icy white with a slight peach flip – metallic) from the Jacy palette.

Complexion:

I primed my face using the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Illuminating Primer ($26 for 0.94 fl oz / 28 mL and $14 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product at Sephora). I contoured my jaw line, cheek bones, bridge of the nose and sides of my forehead using the NYX Wonder Stick ($12 for 0.28 oz / 7.94 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Deep. For foundation I used the Uoma Beauty Say What?! Foundation ($39 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Fair Lady T2C (fair skin with cool undertones). I highlighted the high points of my face using the bareMinerals Bare Pro Glow Liquid Highlighter ($29 for 0.47 fl oz / 14 mL of product on their website) in the shade Free (champagne). I bronzed the perimeter of my face using the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation ($9 for 0.21 oz / 5.95 g of product at Ulta) in the shade F13 (dark skin warm undertones). I color corrected my under eyes sing the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Bright Fix Eye Brightener Concealer ($25 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade 01 Rose Quartz (cool pink for fair skin tones). I concealed the sides of my nose to clean up my contour using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Longwear Liquid Concealer ($26 for 0.27 fl oz / 8 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade #110 (cool pink undertones for fair skin) and then patted what ever was left on my sponge under my eyes to conceal them.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For my cream blush I used the NARS Liquid Blush ($30 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Torrid (warm coral with golden shimmer). I set my under eyes using the BECCA Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder (no longer available 0.09 oz / 2.55 g of product), my bronzer using the Beauty Bakerie Neapolitan Bar ($18 for 0.39 oz / 11.07 g of total product at Ulta making it $6 and 0.13 oz / 3.69 per shade), my blush using the ColourPop x Mulan Pressed Blush (was limited edition) in the shade Good Luck Charm Blush (deep terracotta), my highlighter using the I Heart Revolution x Disney Story Book Highlighter ($10 for 5.8g / 0.2 oz on their website)in the shade Belle (champagne gold ) and the rest of my face using the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder ($34 for 0.71 oz / 20 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Cupcake (fair to light skin tones. pink undertones brighten and disguise under-eye darkness). I lined my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil (no longer available) in the shade Oh Sis (terracotta) and then topped that off with the ColourPop Luxe Velvet Liquid Lip ($8 for 0.17 oz / 4.75 g of product on their website) in the shade Air Kiss (mid toned red coral). I coated my lashes in 1 coat of the ColourPop BFF Mascara ($9 for 0.24 oz / 7 g of product on their website) in the shade Black on Black and popped on a pair of the Mikayla x Glamlite 3D Faux Lashes ($12 per pair on their website) in the style Brand New. I set my face using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna What it Dew Makeup Refreshing Spray ($18 for 1.35 fl oz / 40 mL and $30 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Sephora). I then flicked hair like strokes through the front of my brows using the Milani Weekend Brow Pen ($8.99 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.89 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Espresso (the deepest shade).

Final Thoughts:

I’m in love with this eye look, the only thing I would have changed is the inner corner triangles, I still haven’t mastered it and so the eyes are not an even match. I am in love with the wings and how soft the cut crease is. It was fun to have bangs for the day but I’m glad I did a faux bang instead of cutting my hair.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna What it Dew Makeup Refreshing Spray ($30 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL and $18 for 1.35 fl oz / 40 mL of product at Sephora) is billed as a hydrating mist that can be used under makeup for foundation prep or over makeup to revitalize and refresh skin throughout the day.

I give this spray a tentative A+: It’s a very hydrating spray but I thought it was a setting spray and this one totally does not work as a setting spray… I am going to test it as a before foundation spray to see how I like it for that… It’s got an amazing nozzle.. very fine mist. It makes the face look dewy and healthy and they day I did my Smokey Blue Eye look it made my face look so fresh, however today it did break down the serum blush and the concealer so I will take this one out of rotation as a setting spray and I will try it under my cream products to see how well they work before giving my final grade of it….

I Heart Revolution x Disney Story Book Highlighter ($10 for 5.8g / 0.2 oz on their website)in the shade Belle (champagne gold ) is billed as express your inner princess. It’s your time to shine!

I give this highlighter a solid O+: This highlighter is so pretty! It’s got a slight gold reflect that gives the high points of the face a little extra pizazz. I was afraid that this one was going to be chalky, that is not the case, it’s creamy and the slightest of hand is all that is needed.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Bright Fix Eye Brightener Concealer ($25 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Rose Quartz (cool pink to brighten for light skin tones) is billed as an undereye brightener that hydrates, brightens, and conceals with sheer to buildable coverage—Delivering a no-makeup makeup effect and longwear formula. It comes in 16 shades.

I give this corrector a solid A++: This is a nice corrector. Very brightening and very pigmented. I used not even 1/2 of a pea sized amount and that was enough for both under eyes. It does crease so this is the reason I did not grade it higher.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette ($45, on sale for $31.50 for 0.28 oz / 9.8 g of total product making it 0.02 oz / 0.7 g of product and $3.21 at retail price / $2.25 at sale price per shade on their website) is billed as a limited-edition palette created in collaboration with influencer Jackie Aina, featuring Jackie’s must-have eyeshadow and pressed pigment shades for straight-up gorgeous looks. There are 8 metallics, 3 pressed pigment mattes and 3 standard mattes. The shades from left to right are: Soleil (Metallic soft peach with a gold shift) Supreme (Matte rosy pink pressed pigment)* Pinker (Matte mid-tone cool plum pressed pigment)* Big wig (Matte rich purple pressed pigment)* Dwollahs (Metallic golden olive) Credit (Deep matte plum brown) Lituation (Metallic deep taupe with a violet shift) Zamn (Sparkling rose gold) Wiggalese (Metallic cranberry red) Shookington (Metallic violet with a blue shift) Trust Issues (Sparkling white gold) Edges (Matte deep peach) Sponsored (Metallic chocolate with a teal shift) and Ginger (Matte caramel brown).

I give this palette a solid O+++!!!: This is a stunning palette!!! The mattes are creamy and not too pigmented where it’s hard to blend them out and the metallics are buttery super pigmented and can be foiled or buffed out to be softer.

MIKAYLA X GLAMLITE 3D FAUX LASHES ($12 per pair on their website) in the style Brand New is billed as a voluminous lash delivering a glamorous doll-eye look designed to open up the eyes.

I give this lashes a solid O+++!!!: These lashes are STUNNING!!! I am so mad that I only purchased 1 set… I love how they are fluffy and full yet look so demure. The bands are thicker but not stiff and I only needed to trim them just a touch.

ColourPop Lux Liquid Lip ($8 for 0.17 oz / 4.75 g of product at Ulta and on the ColourPop website) is billed as a plush, velvet liquid lipstick with medium buildable coverage that creates a soft, diffused look. Features an innovative whipped formula that contains a blend of antioxidant rich ingredients to nourish lips. It is offered in 12 shades. I chose the shade Air Kiss (midtone coral red).

I give this lipstick a solid O+!!: This is a comfortable matte lipstick that lasts a decent amount of time. It did not feather or travel outside the lip line. The only reason that I didn’t grade it higher is that it did leave my lips feeling dry.

And with that today’s walkthrough and pictorial is over….

I hope you have a great rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and that you’re in great spirits and health 😄🩺
