Smokey Neutral Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Mine is going pretty good. I have a low pain day but I am having a very low energy day too. I had to stop and rest a few times whilst doing my makeup today.

For today’s look I used 3 shades from the Juvia’s Place The Nudes 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) and 4 shades from the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade).

Today’s scent is…

Davidoff Cool Water ($22 for 3.4 fl oz /100.55 mL and $33 for 6.7 fl oz / 198.14 mL of product on Amazon) released in 1996 and is an sweet aquatic scent with notes of:

Top Notes: Honey Melon, Lotus Blossom Water, Lemon, Pineapple, Quince, Calone, Citrus, Lily, Ozonic Notes and Black Currant.

Heart Notes: Lotus, Water Lily, Lily-of-the-Valley, Jasmine, Honey, Hawthorn and Rose.

Base Notes: Musk, Vetiver, Raspberry, Blackberry, Violet Root, Peach, Sandalwood, Mulberry and Vanilla.

Let’s get into the walkthrough and eye pictorial for today’s Face of the Day…

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows and laminated them using the Got 2 Glued Spiking Glue ($6.49 for 6 oz / 170 g of product at Ulta) and then I drew hair like strokes through my brows to make them fuller using the Juvia’s Place i Sculpt, I Shade Brow Pen ($14 for 0.04 oz / 1.2 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Ebony (the deepest shade) and then I outlined and filled in my brows using the Uoma Beauty BROW-FRO Baby Hair ($22 for 0.002 oz / 0.057 g of product at Ulta) in the shade #6 Black Brown (deep brown). I carved out my brows and primed the lids using the Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade White Out. I applied a piece of tape to the outer edges of my eyes as a guide.

I started with a fluffy crease brush and the matte mustard yellow shade (the 2nd shade of the 2nd row) from the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) from lower crease all the way to the brow as my transition shade. ↓

On a tapered fluffy crease brush I took the matte rich terracotta brown shade (the last shade of the 2nd row) from the Juvia’s Place The Nudes 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) through the lower crease up to the brow line and through the outer 2/3 of the mobile lids.

On a short fluffy crease brush and the matte rich warm reddish brown shade (the 1st shade of the 2nd row) from the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I deepened the lower crease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids.

on a stout crease brush using the matte deep chocolate brown (the 1st shade of the 1st row) of the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I deepened the outer v of the crease and the outer 1/2 of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids keeping the the shade close to the crease line and not blowing it out to far.

I took a tiny concealer brush and some micellar water I cleared the inner 2/3 of mu mobile lids to make way for the lighter metallic shade to pop.

Using the same brush I applied more eye primer to the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

On a small detailer brush using the metallic peachy champagne with silver shimmer shade (the 1st shade of the 1st row) in the Juvia’s Place The Nudes 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I tapped it over the newly primed area.

Using the same brush and the metallic pink champagne shade (the 2nd shade of the 2nd row) in the Juvia’s Place The Nudes 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I patted that over the ball of the eye (the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids) making sure to feather it into the inner 1/3 and outer 1/3 for a better blend.

Using my finger and the metallic warm brown with a brown and silver shimmer shade (the 2nd shade of the 1st row) I tapped that over the outer 1/2 of the ball of the eye (the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids) and the inner 1/2 of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids to create a smooth transition.

I removed the tape from the outer edges of my eyes and using a cotton bud and some of the Good Molecules Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer ($12 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 mL of product at Ulta) I cleaned up the fall out and softened the outer edges a bit.

For the lower lash line I took a fat crease brush and the matte rich warm reddish brown shade (the 1st shade of the 2nd row) from the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I created a medium drop shadow.

On a tiny pencil brush using the matte deep chocolate brown (the 1st shade of the 1st row) of the Juvia’s Place The Chocolates 6 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.47 oz/ 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz /2.2 g and $2.33 per shade) I deepened the lashline, dragging this shade down a bit to create a super smokey super grungy lash line.

On a thin concealer brush using the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow ($6 for 0.074oz / 2.1 g of product on their website) in the shade Lady Bird (soft ivory with multi-dimensional silver glitter) I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes.

I tight lined my upper and lower water lines using the ColourPop BFF Crème Gel Liner (part of the like a charm liner vault for $40) in the shade Brew Ha Ha (true black brown).

Last moment I decided to add thin liner wings using the KVD Beauty Tattoo Liner ($22 for 0.019 fl oz / 0.56 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Mad Max (brown).

Complexion:

I primed my face using the J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator Licorice Extract ($7.99 for 1.05 fl oz / 31.05 mL of product at Ulta). I contoured my nose, cheek bones, jawline and forehead using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Stick ($25 for 0.32 oz/ 9.1 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Mink (toasted almond). For foundation I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation (no longer available in the foundation shades just the contour and highlight shades) in the shade Porcelain (0.32 oz/ 9.1 g of product). I bronzed the perimeter of the face using the Juvia’s Place Shade Stick ($16 for 0.34 oz / 9.7 g of product on their website) in the shade Guinea (dark with neutral under tones). I color corrected my under eyes using the BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector (discontinued) in the shade Light/Medium. I highlighted the high points of the face using the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter ($5.99 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Hello Goodbye (pale pinkish champagne). I cleaned up my nose contour using the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer ($30 for 0.5 oz / 14.17 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Vanilla (fair neutral) and whatever was left on the sponge I used to conceal my under eyes. I then touched up my brows making sure that the tails were sharp and the full brow was uniformed.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

My cream blush today was RMS Beauty lip2cheek Cream Blush ($36 for 0.17 oz/ 4.82 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Lost Angel (coral pink with golden under tones). I set my under eyes using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder ($38 for 0.88 oz / 24.95 g and $19 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Translucent (colorless) and the rest of my face using the Catrice Cosmetics HD Baking & Setting Loose Powder ($12 for 0.81 oz / 23 g of product on their website) in the shade C01 Translucent. I touched up my blush using the Makeup Revolution Blusher Reloaded ($7 for 0.26 oz / 7.5 g of product on their website) in the shade Rhubarb & Custard (peachy coral), my bronzer using the Makeup Revolution Bronzer Reloaded ($7 for 0.53 oz / 15 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Take a Vacay and my highlighter using the Makeup Revolution Highlighter Reloaded ($7 for 0.35 oz / 10 g of product on their website) in the shade Time to Shine (deep bronze), I did not highlight the bridge of the nose or the cupids bow with this highlighter because it’s too deep for me, I have to use a very fluffy flimsy highlighter brush to wear it… for the cupid’s bow and the bridge of the nose I used the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow ($6 for 0.074oz / 2.1 g of product on their website) in the shade Lady Bird (soft ivory with multi-dimensional silver glitter). I contoured my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 for 0.035 oz / 1 g of product on their website) in the shade BFF3 (deep nude) for the lip line and the sides of my lips and the ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 for 0.035 oz / 1 g of product on their website) in the shade Ashton (deep taupe) for the pout of the lip (the middle of the cupid’s bow and the middle of the lower lip). I then topped that using the MAC Matte Lipstick ($19 for 0.1 oz / 2.83 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Velvet Teddy (deep toned beige) and patted a little of some clear lip gloss over that. *please forgive how crappy my lips look, I tried a lip peel mask and it dried out my lips so I’ll be sleeping in a night mask for a few days*

I gave my lashes 1 coat of LA Girl Jetsetter Mascara ($6.99 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Ulta) and popped on a pair of Mikayla x Glamlite 3D Faux Lashes ($12 per pair on their website) in the style Brand New. I set my face using the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray ($5.99 for 1.52 fl oz / 44.95 mL of product at Ulta) and did not need a touch up powder today.

Final Thoughts:

I truly love this eye look today. It’s gungy and smokey and super chic for fall. I woke up wanting to use Velvet Teddy so bad and was happy with the total outcome.

RMS Beauty lip2cheek Cream Blush ($36 for 0.17 oz/ 4.82 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Lost Angel (coral pink with golden under tones) is billed as a multitasking natural, blendable cream formula that provides hydration and sublime, buildable color to enhance both lips and cheeks and comes in 7 shades.

I give this cream blush a solid A- : I don’t know if this product just dried out or what happened but I needed to add some Inglot Duraline to it to get it to coat my brush, as I applied it I did notice it lifted the product underneath a bit and I had to layer it many times to get any kind of color payoff. It did turn out pretty but for the amount of product I had to use and the amount of time I had to spend to get that color payoff it wasn’t really worth it. There are many cream blushes as a lower price point that work so much better.

Makeup Revolution Highlighter Reloaded ($7 for 0.35 oz / 10 g of product on their website) in the shade Time to Shine (deep bronze) is billed as a shimmering bronze highlighter is an intensely pigmented powder that will instantly brighten your complexion. A high-impact finish with a super-flattering shimmer. The silky formula glides onto cheekbones seamlessly, add to the bridge of the nose and illuminate the inner corners of the eyes for an all over glow. For an intense, foil-like finish use with a damp brush or one of our Fixing Sprays.

I give this highlighter a solid A++ : I thought for sure this highlighter was on the chopping block for decluttering because it’s so bronze… but using a fluffy flimsy highlighter brush and concentrating this one to the center of the face and the high points of the cheek bones I was able to get a super pretty glow.

And with that today’s walkthrough and pictorial is over….

I hope you have a great rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and that you’re in great spirits and health 😄🩺.

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.👄
