Sunset Vibes Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Today is a very productive day for me… I finished 3 blog drafts, did my makeup, catalogued my yarn and we are having a full out feast of a BBQ.

We started with bagels and mimosas and that gave me the inspiration for today’s look….

For today’s look I am using the ColourPop Daisy Does It 12 Pan Palette ($18 for 0.42 oz / 12 g of total product on their website making it 0.035 oz / 1 g and $1.50 per shade).

This was the look I created on 3/29/2022. I had it in my drafts and forgot to post it.

Let’s get it going with today’s walk through and pictorial.

Eyes and Brows:

I started the way I always have, I applied Got 2b Glued Spiking Glue ($7.15 for 6 oz / 170 g of product at Ulta) to set my brows in place and then I filled them in using the LA Girl Brow Pomade ($5.99 for 027 oz at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. Using a c shaped brush from ColourPop I used the foundation that I am using today to clean up the top part of my brow and using the same brush I used the Beauty Creations Dare to Be Bright Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml of product on their website) in the shade White Out (pure white) to carve out the bottom of my brows and prime my lids.

Using a fluffy crease brush I went into the shade Pinwheel (soft yellow peach – matte) I defined the transition (from crease to brow line).

I started with the medium sized crease brush and the shade Rooted (warm beige – matte)  to define the crease and then went in with a small crease brush and the shade Flower Girl (peachy coral – matte) to soften the first shade and give the crease a more sunset vibe.

I used a combination of the shades Top Pick (true yellow with silver pin points – sequin matte) and Nice Steams (beige pink with gold and silver pin points – sequin matte) on a short shadder brush to get a muted wash of yellow on the mobile lids.

To add a hint of a romantic glow I first started with the ColourPop Lawn Party Super Shock Shadow Duo ($10 for two 0.074 oz / 2.1 g pots of shadow on their website) using the shade Beloved (soft daffodil yellow with pink and gold pinpoints) on my finger I tapped it over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

Then using my finger again I used the shade In a Scent (soft coral with a gold duo chrome – metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid.

On a small built styled pencil brush and the shade Like Butter (warm brown – matte) I defined the outer v of the crease lightly… the goal was to add a hint of depth without adding too much drama to the look.

For the lower lash lines I started with a small packer brush and more of the shade Flower Girl (peachy coral – matte)  to create a soft and light drop shadow. Then a pencil brush and more of the shade Like Butter (warm brown – matte) I defined the lashes of the lower lids. On a small fluffy crease brush and I took the shade Pinwheel (soft yellow peach – matte) to buff out the harsh lines and to connect the upper and lower shadows together at the outer v.

On a pencil brush I took the combination of the shades So Fresh (white gold with gold and silver pinpoints – super shock shadow) and Chain Letter (ivory with a coppery peach duo chrome – super shock) to highlight the upper part of the tear duct and then went in with a fluffy brush to defuse that area. For the lower water lines I used the orange #6 shade from the Handaiyan 20 piece liner set ($15.99 on Amazon).

Complexion:

I primed the face using the Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Face Brightener Illuminating Primer ($35 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product on their website). I then contoured using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Contour Skinstick ($28 for 0.25 oz / 7.09 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Amber (cool toned contour for light to medium skin). For foundation today I tested the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation ($12.60 on sale for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta… shades a limited due to Ulta discontinuing partnership with the company… can still be found on their own website so I added that hyperlink instead) in the shade N10 (porcelain to light skin with neutral undertones). I bronzed using the Wander Beauty Flash Focus Hydrating Foundation Stick ($32 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Dermstore) in the shade deep. I highlighted using the Milk Makeup Bionic Glow Illuminating Liquid Highlighter ($34 for 0.91 oz/ 26.8 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade Virtual (peach) and for blush I used the Thrive Causemetics Triple Threat Color Stick ($36 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product on their website) in the shade Olivia (peachy pink satin). I concealed using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 for 0.2 oz/ 5.9 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade  Porcelain (Very fair with neutral undertones… it’s not offered at Sephora in this shade).

The first 2 pictures are the placement I use for my contour and the last picture is the placement I use for bronzer.

Setting, Touch Ups, Lips and Lashes:

I set the perimeter of the face using the HourGlass Veil Translucent Setting Powder ($46 for 0.36 oz / 10.21 g of product at Ulta) and the center of my face (the triangle of light) using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder ($34 for 0.98 oz / 27.78 g of product at Ulta). I bronzed using the Thrive Causemetics Sun Chaser Blur + Sculpt Bronzing Powder ($32 for 0.32 oz / 9 g of product on their website) in the shade Camila (tan neutral). I touched up the highlighter using Wander Beauty Wanderess Glow ($30 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product on the Dermstore website) in the shade After Hours (champagne). I punched up the blush a bit using the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic Blush ($40 for 0.28 oz / 7.94 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Ecstasy (peachy pink)… just the center of the blush. I coated my lashes in Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara ($27 for 0.3 oz/ 8.50 g of product at Ulta) and popped on a pair of ColourPop lashes ($8 on their website) in the style Minx. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 for 0.035 oz / 1 g of product on their website) in the shade Frenchie (bright warm red) and topped the lips off using NYX Powder Puff Lippie ($9 for 0.4 oz / 11.34 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Boy’s Tears (classic red).

Final Thoughts:

The look in person is so romantic and airy. For some reason the colors aren’t really popping the way they do in real life. Still… it’s super pretty

And just like that… This walk through is done…. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health….

Remember… Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
