Pride 2022 Look – Bisexual Flag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing a bit better. Still in a bit of pain from my fall but nowhere as bad as the last few days.

Today I’ did a new pride look inspired by the Bisexual Pride Flag… Pink, Purple and Blue…

In the Bisexual Pride Flag the color pink represents attraction to the same sex, purple represents attraction to both sexes and blue represents attraction to the opposite sex.

For today’s look I used Blend Bunny The Blends Palette and Juvia’s Place Wahala Palette

Let’s jump right into today’s walkthrough and pictorial….

Eyes and Brows:

I started by laminating my brows with the I started the way I always have, I applied Got 2b Glued Spiking Glue ($7.15 for 6 oz / 170 g of product at Ulta) to set my brows in place and then filled them in using the Morphe Brow Cream ($6 for 0.12 oz / 3.5 g of product) in the shade java (deep neutral brown). I carved out my brows and primed my eyes using the P.Louise Base ($14 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 ml of product) in the shade Rumour 0.5 (pale beige).

I took a pair of the Crown Noire Full Cut Crease Stencils in the style WING IT ($13.99 for a pack of 14 pairs) and cut off the tail end of them… I just needed the first half for today’s look. I also added a peice of first aid tape to the outer edge of the eye to help create a crisp winged out effect.

I started with the Blends palette. I took a bullet brush and the shade Chase (hot pink) I first stamped it ½ way on the stencil and ½ way of the lid to make sure I had deep saturation of this shade over the inner ½ of the cut crease. I then took a small detail brush and a hint more of chase and buffed the shade out a bit. Taking a very fine pencil brush and the shade Bewitched (deep purple) using the same method to stamp on the shadow. I then took a small dense pencil brush and the shade Signs (true purple) to buff the deeper purple out.

Sticking with the same palette I went into the shade Sunset (bubblegum pink) on a fluffy crease brush to blow out the pink area and the shade Giggle (pastel purple) on a small crease brush to do the same for the purple area.

I went back in with the deeper pink and purple shades to add back the depth of the shadows and then took a fluffy crease brush with nothing on it to buff the edges out to get a high impact blown out blend.

I removed the stencils and tape and noticed that I had a lot of gaping and shadow transfer so I had to do some clean up….

I took a disposable lip gloss wand and a small amount of micellar water to remove all the primer and shadow fallout from the blank space of the cut crease.

I took a small detailer brush and some more primer and covered the full blank space of the cut crease.

Taking an even smaller detailer brush and the Beauty Creations Colour Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml of product) in the shade Blue My Mind and created a winged liner inside the blank space making sure not to breach the outer purple line.

I then took a tiny flat packer brush and the shade Chance (true blue) to seal in the blue primer.

I then popped into the Juvia’s Place palette with a fluffy packer brush and the shade LOVE (Crayola blue – matte) I buffed out the harsh edges of the blue liner.

To make this blue area a bit more crisp I took a tiny c brush and more micellar water to clean up any of the blue that transferred higher than I envisioned it to be.

Using the same c brush and more primer I packed that over the blank space of this look.

I went into the ColourPop Going Coconuts Palette on first a flat shadder brush and then a fluffy crease brush using the shade shredded (creamy vanilla with silver pinpoints – sequin matte) to seal in the primer to avoid any further color transfer.

For the lower lash line I first lined my lower water lines and super close to the lash line under the lashes with….for the inner ⅓ I used the LA Girl Shockwave Lip Liner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product) in the shade pop (bright fuschia), for the middle ⅓ I used NYX Slide On Glide On Eyeliner (discontinued) in the shade Purple Blaze (true purple metallic) and on the outer ⅓ I used NYX Slide On Glide On Eyeliner (discontinued) in the shade Sunrise Blue (bright blue metallic). I then went in with a pencil brush and the shade BUSY BODY (bright magenta pink – matte) from the Juvia’s palette for the inner ⅓ of the lower lash line, the shade Signs (true purple) from the Blends palette over the middle ⅓ of the lower lash line and the shade LOVE (Crayola blue – matte) from the Juvia’s palette for the outer ⅓ of the lower lash line. I then took a fluffy crease brush with nothing on it and smoked the lower lash line out creating a deep drop shadow.

I primed the face using the LA Girl Pro Prep HD Primer ($6.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product) in the colorless shade and then added some Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product) in the shade Fair (neutral beige for fair skin tones) over the high points of my face. I contoured using the Shein Sheglam  Sun Sculpt Liquid Contour ($4.49 for 0.17 fl oz / 5.2 ml of product on the Shein website) in the shade soft tan (the contour shade). For foundation today I tested out the Morphe Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation ($20 for 0.95 fl oz / 28 ml of product) in Morphe Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation ($20 for 0.95 fl oz / 28 ml of product). For bronzer today I used the Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Contour ($5 for 0.24 fl oz / 7 ml of product) in the shade Cafe Au Slay. For blush I used the NYX Wonder Stick Cream Blush Contour Stick ($14 for 0.28 oz / 7.94 g of product) in the shade Fuchsia. For cream highlighter I used the Bareminerals Bare Pro Glow Highlighter (no longer available) in the shade free. I color corrected using Milani Peach Tinted Under Eye Brightener ($8.99 for 0.51 fl oz / 15 ml of product) and to conceal I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($31for 0.22 fl oz / 6.5 ml of product) in the shade vanilla L2 (very light with neutral undertones). I set the center of my face, including my under eyes using Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder ($34 for 0.98 oz / 27.78 g of product) in the shade Lavender (light with cool undertones for brightening) and for the rest of my face I used the Maybelline Lasting Fix Banana Setting Powder ($11.99 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product). To bronze my face I used the Flower Beauty Heatwave Luminous Bronzer ($11.29 for 0.2 oz / 5.6 g of product) in the shade Sunswept (warm bronzer for medium to tan skin tones). I topped my blush off using the shade Totally Cosmic (mid toned warm toned pink) from the I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Palette – Aladdin’s Jasmine ($20 for 0.54 oz / 16.2 g of total eyeshadow, 0.6 oz / 17.4 g of total blush and 0.6 oz / 17.4 g of total highlighter making it 0.03 oz / 0.9 g per shadow, 0.2 oz / 5.58 g per blush and highlighter and making each shade in this palette $0.83 on their website). For highlighter touch up I used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Highlight Face Powder ($38 for 0.35 oz to 9.9 g of product)in the shade Soft and Gentle (gilded peach).

Lips, Lashes, and Finishing:

I did an ombre liner trick today… I used the NYX Suede Matte Velvet Vegan Lip Liner ($4 for 0.03 oz / 0.85 g of product) in the shade Amethyst (deep neon purple) for the outer part of my lips… for the top lip I went up to right before the cupid’s bow starts to curve and for the bottom lip I went down to right before the center of the lip starts to form. I then filled in the sides of the lips. For the cupid’s bow and center of the bottom lip I used the LA Girl Shockwave Lip Liner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product) in the shade pop (bright fuschia) and then filled in the center part of the lips. I filled in the lips using the NYX Powder Puff Matte Full Coverage Lip Cream ($9 for 0.40 fl oz /12 ml of product). I used the shade Senior Class (purple) for the outside part of the lips and for the center I used the shade BBY (hot pink).  I spritzed my face with LA Girl HD Pro Setting Finish Spray. I coated my lashes in Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara and popped on a pair of Juvia’s Place Nubian Lashes ($13 per pair) in the shade Biba (lightweight fluffy and three dimensional lash style).

Final Thoughts:

I really love pink blue and purple together and this look came out more or less like I had planned it…

This was the first time I did an ombre lip and really didn’t think I was going to be able to do it… it’s actually not as hard as it seems and I may have to do more of this style of lip it’s super fun and adds a great little detail to any look.

Let’s talk tested makeup….

Morphe Filter Effect Soft Focus Foundation ($20 for 0.95 fl oz / 28 ml of product) is billed as an oil-free, skincare-infused, hydrating foundation that delivers a natural finish for healthy-looking skin and claims to be longwear and have medium coverage that  blurs and diffuses the look of imperfections while deeply hydrating and nourishing skin. It comes in 40 shades, I chose the shade Light 6 (light golden).

I give this foundation an O+++ : When I hauled this foundation I thought it was going to be too yellow on me, it truly wasn’t it was the perfect shade match for me… It is, in fact, high medium coverage and you do not need very much at all 1 pump was enough for my full face. It does not oxidize and it doesn’t’ get cakey or cling to texture. I didn’t grade it higher because, whilst it is a pretty foundation, it’s not any better than other foundations I’ve tried. I do really like it and can see myself repurchasing it though.

Juvia’s Place Nubian Lashes ($13 per pair) billed as the ultimate in luxury and comfort, specially designed to glamorously tease, flirt and tantalize with style. Made with 100% vegan mink, the silky, lightweight strands give your eyelashes long-lasting lift, length, drama, and volume. This style is Biba (a lightweight fluffy and three dimensional lash).

I give this style of lashes a solid O+++!!! : Yesterday I hauled these lashes and my first impression was one of apprehension. I thought these lashes were going to be too blunt and flimsy for my eye shape. In the case they don’t really look like much but on the eyes they are STUNNING… They have just enough whispiness to them to give drama without being too full. I really think I will end up purchasing more of these lashes soon.

Thanks for stopping by… I hope you enjoyed today’s walkthrough…

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Don’t forget to save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another pride look… I’ll be taking on the Trans Pride Flag….

♥ XOXO, Nita ♥
