Christmas Makeup 2023

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m well. We just got back from Christmas dinner and I met the most amazing spoonie. She is going through a lot of the same things I am and it was nice to have someone to talk to that understood what I’m going through….

So today was the big reveal of what Christmas look hubby selected fro me to recreate….

Please note that the items I am using are not part of my makeup stash selections this week. The only times I will deviate from the week’s makeup picks is if there is a special event, such as a holiday, birthday or our anniversary.

LOOK #2

I had to make a tiny alteration to the look. It’s cold here in Florida and I went outside and my eyes started watering so the brown under eye kept bleeding away so I chose a waterproof liner in green to adjust the drop shadow.

Also last week I didn’t stay true to my skincare routine so this week my skin is very angry with me. I’ve done my nightly aha/bha resurfacing serum so hopefully the skin looks better next week… meanwhile… hello texture we all see you… but honestly I’m a 50 year old woman… there will be texture no matter how diligent I am with my day and night routines.

For this look I used shadows from 5 palettes:

1. Juvia’s Place The Saharan II palette (was $28 for 2.03 oz / 57.55 g of total product making it 0.23 oz / 6.39 g and $3.11 per pan when it was available, I believe it may have been discontinued as I have only found it on Poshmark). I will refer to this palette as JPS2.

2. ColourPop It’s a Mood palette ($35 for 1.16 oz / 33 g of total product making it 0.039 oz / 1.1 g and $1.17 per pan on their website ). I refer to this palette as CPM.

3. Juvia’s Place The Warrior palette ($20 for 2.03 oz / 57.55 g of total product making it 0.039 oz / 1.1 g and $2.22 per pan at Ulta). I will refer to this palette as JPW.

4. Juvia’s Place Olori I palette ($15 for 0.47 oz / 13.32 g of total product making it 0.078 oz / 2.22 g and $2.50 per pan on their website). I will refer to this palette as JPO1.

5. Blend Bunny Cosmetics The Blends palette ($39 on their website). I will refer to this palette as BBB.

Hubby was really happy with the way the final look came out. On to the walk-through and pictorial.

Eyes and Brows:

I started by setting my brows in place using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then I outlined and filled the brows in using Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer ($25 for 0.002 oz / 0.057 g for the full sized and 0.001 oz / 0.028 g for the mini sized at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 (neutral deep brown). I then reinforced the brows using Benefit Cosmetics POWmade Waterproof Brow Pomade ($23 for 0.17 oz / 4.82 g of product at Ulta) in shade 5 (warm black brown). I cleaned up the top part of the brow using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 on their website) in the shade Creme (Very fair with warm peach undertones) and the bottom of the brows using my P Louise Base ($12 on their website and on the Morphe website) in the shade Rumour 0 (the white shade), I also primed my lids with this primer.

Starting off I used the CPM palette with a bullet crease brush and the shade bonafide (neutral ivory – matte) to set my brow line.

With a short fluffy crease brush and the shade everywhere (pinky orange – matte) from the CPM palette I defined the transition.

On a slightly larger fluffy crease brush I went into the shade Fez (deep terracotta brown – mate) from the JPS2 palette and defined the crease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids.

I used the P Louise Base ($12 on their website and on the Morphe website) in the shade Rumour 0 (the white shade) and a flat concealer brush to apply the primer to the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

Using a short shader brush I applied the shade Ahosi (light cantaloupe – matte) from the JPW palette over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

Then using a tiny definer brush and some NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 oz / 10 ml of total product at Ulta).

Jumping into the JPO1 palette I used a short shader brush and the 4th shade in the palette (orange gold metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

Flipping the same shader brush over I took the shade Bakwa (metallic true gold) and tapped that over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids.

To define the outer v of the crease I used the shade Mino (dark chocolate – matte) from the JPW palette. I started by packing the color over the outer v area using a dense pencil brush and then using a fluffy crease brush I buffed the color out. I then took a less dense pencil brush and added a bit more of Mino to further define the area.

I created a drop shadow on the lower lashline using more of mino and then buffed that out using the shade Luxe (true deep green – matte) from the BBB palette using a small detailer brush. I then lined the lower waterlines using NYX Epic Wear Liner Stick Long Lasting Eyeliner Pencil ($9 for 0.043 oz / 1.22 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Intense Teal (teal). Using my highlighter I brightened the inner corners of my eyes. I created micro wings on the upper lash lines using ColourPop Crème Gel Colour (this color is part of the colour me pretty collection that is no longer available) in the shade Venus (vibrant red) and then over top of that wing I added the red glitter liner from Alora Cosmetics ($7.99).

Final Thoughts:

This look was super adorable. I really loved the pop of green on the lower lash line. I got many compliments about the look as well.

The perfume I chose was Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum ($80 for the 1 fl oz / 30 ml size at Sephora and $101 for the 1.6 fl oz / 50 ml size at both Sephora and Ulta and $124 for the 2.5 oz / 73.93 ml size at Ulta). This is one of my favorite special event perfumes. It was released in 2015, is a sweet woody floral and has scent notes of: Top notes of : Bergamot and Casablanca Lily. Middle notes of : Ylang Ylang and Orange Blossoms. Base notes of : Tahitian Vanilla, Sandalwood and Amber.

This is an super sexy and sophisticated scent that is not too overpowering.

Well dolls, thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
