Grungy Turquoise Look

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m ok today, a bit sluggish and my RA is really flaring up today.

The look chosen for me today was….

LOOK # 4

I ended up swapping out the lip color… I thought the pink would clash with the grunginess of the eye so I opted for a pale nude instead.

I’ve been loving keeping my brows simple this week.

It’s been nice not spending an hour on my brows.

I used all 4 palettes from this week’s makeup stash selections….

1. ColourPop It’s a Mood 30 Pan Palette ($34 for 1.16 oz / 33 g of total product on their website making it 0.039 oz / 1.1 g and $1.13 per pan). I’ll refer to this palette as CPM.

2. Limoncello 12 pan palette ($18 for 0.42 oz / 12 g on their website making it 0.035 oz/ 1 g and $1.29 per pan). I’ll refer to this palette as CPL.

3. Juvia’s Place The Festival 9 Pan Palette ($20 for 1.14 oz / 32.4 g of total product on their website making it 0.13 oz / 3.6 g and $2.22 per pan). I’ll refer to this palette as JPF.

4. Huda Beauty Empowered Eyeshadow Palette ($67 for 0.59 oz / 16.8 g of total product making it $3.72 and 0.033 oz / 0.93 g of product per pan). I’ll refer to this palette as HE.

I am really pleased with how this makeup came out. I love pairing a pop of color with grungy browns.

All right… enough chatting… let’s get into today’s walk-through and pictorial…..

Eyes and Brows:

I started by setting my brows in place using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then I outlined and filled the brows in using the E.L.F. Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($6 for 0.002 oz / 0.06 g of product at Ulta) in the shade deep brown. . I cleaned up the top part of the brow using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 on their website) in the shade Creme (Very fair with warm peach undertones) and the bottom of the brows using the P Louise Base ($12 on their website and on the Morphe website) in the shade Rumour 0 (the white shade), I also primed my lids with this primer.

I started with the CPL and taking a fluffy crease brush and the shade limone squeezy (warm ginger – matte) I fluffed it through my transition making sure to get a good layer from crease to brow.

On a slightly more pointed fluffy crease brush I used the shade semifreddo (neutral suede brown – matte) from the CPL to define the crease.

Taking a fluffy pencil brush I went into HE and using the shade Big Dreams (deep taupe – matte * described as a purply grey)I further defined my crease.

Using a flat shadder brush I applied some NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 ml of product at Ulta) over the middle 2/3 of the mobile lids and then using my finger I applied the shade Aba (ocean blue – metallic) from JPF.

I used a short pencil brush to lay down the shade our deal (rich chocolate – matte) from CPM and then using a fluffy shadder brush I buffed this shade out.

Then using my finger again I went over the middle 1/3 of my mobile lids using Courageous (deep reddish plum on a brown/maroon base – multichrome metallic) from HE. I then took a small fluffy brush with nothing on it and went back and forth over the lines between the inner and middle 1/3 and the middle and outer 1/3 of the mobile lids.

For the lower lashline I took a small pencil brush and more of the shade semifreddo (neutral suede brown – matte) from the CPL and created a medium sized drop shadow.

I then took a very slim pencil brush and the shade vespa (rich charcoal brown matte) from the CPL to define the lower lashline.

I lined the lower waterlines using the ColourPop Colour Stix ($7 for 0.021 oz / 0.60 g of product on their website) in the shade hummingbird (bright teal – metallic).

On another slim pencil brush I used the shade Uli (icy white – shimmer) from JPF to highlight the inner corners of my eyes.

Complexion:

I primed my face using the Makeup Revolution Glow Beam Light Strobe Cream ($7 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 ml of product on their website) in the shade Peach and then contoured using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($40 for 0.40 fl oz / 12 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Dark. For foundation I used the Morphe Filter Effect Soft-Focus Foundation ($20 for 0.94 fl oz / 27.80 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Filter Light 2 (fair with neutral peach undertones). I bronzed my face using the Huda Beauty Tantour Contour & Bronzer Cream ($30 for 0.52 oz / 12 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Light (light to medium with cool undertones) and then highlighted the high points of my face using the Benefit Eye Beam Gel Highlighter For Eyes & Face ($24 for 0.34 US fl oz / 10 mL of product at Ulta). For cream blush today I used Anastasia Beverly Hill Stick Cream Blush ($32 for 0.28 oz / 8.0 g of product at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Peachy Keen (soft peach). I color corrected my under eyes using the Wet n Wild MegaCushion Corrector ($5.99 for 0.24 oz / 6.8 g of product on their website) in the shade Who’s That Pearl (bright peach) and concealed my under eyes using Catrice True Skin High Coverage Concealer ($7 for 1.13 oz / 32.03 g of product on their website) in the shade #002 Neutral Ivory. I set my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Powder (discontinued) and the rest of my face using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder ($38 for 0.9 oz/ 25 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I touched up my bronzer using the Maybelline City Bronzer ($10.99 for 0.24 oz / 6.80 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Deep 300, my highlight using the Makeup Revolution Highlight Reloaded ($7 for 0.35 oz / 9.9 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dare to Divulge (rose gold) and my blush using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush ($43 for 0.15 oz/ 4.25 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Diffused Heat (vibrant poppy blush combined with Diffused Light).

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (this shade no longer available, but you could use the shade another round in its place) in the shade Curvii and filled in my lips using Huda Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipstick ($25 for 0.1 oz / 3 g of product at Sephora) in the shade buttercup (light pink nude). I coated my lashes in 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash ($28 for the 0.30 oz / 8.5 g size and $15 for the 0.14 oz / 4 g size at Sephora and Ulta) and then popped on a pair of Juvia’s Place Nubian Lash in the style Nefertiti ($13 at Ulta). I set my makeup using Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray ($36 for the 3.3 fl oz / 100 ml size and $21 for the 1.1 fl oz / 100 ml size at Sephora) .

Final Thoughts:

I just love a good grungy eye but not all by itself. I love to add a pop of color to it. I feel like it elevates the look.

I am hoping to get back on track with daily makeup looks… I’m trying hard to not let fibromyalgia steal my me time this coming year.

I have also planned out some new blog series come this new year… so even when I’m not able to get a look posts up I still am working on content behind the scenes.

Well dolls… that’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Happy early New Year… if you’re going to party please drink responsibly…. and

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
