Romantic Rose January Week #1 Shop My Stash Look #3

Hey doll hey! How’s your day going? Great I hope. I’m doing ok. arthritis is killing me, low on energy (hence the wash day no bones dirty ponytail look I’ve got going on here)… was able to shower but pushing hair day back till tomorrow.

Today sir Melo joined me in my makeup room. I think he sensed that I wasn’t feeling good today….

He loved this basket so much… it’s the basket I use to collect and then take pictures of the makeup selections for the week.

For today’s look I used 3 palettes:

1. Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette ($65 for 19.7 G / 0.69 OZ total product making it $3.72 and 1.09 g / 0.038 oz per pan at Sephora). I will refer to this palette as HNN.

2.  ColourPop Smoke & Roses 30 Pan Palette ($34 for 1.16 oz / 33g of product making it 0.039 oz / 1.1 g and $1.13 per pan on their website). I will refer to this palette as CPSR.

3. Huda Empowered Eyeshadow Palette ($67 for 0.59 oz / 16.8 g of total product making it $3.72 and 0.033 oz / 0.93 g of product per pan). I will refer to this palette as HE.

I also have some roots showing through… I just ordered more dye (along with some more new makeup… stay tuned for a new haul post soon).

Ok… let’s get into today’s walkthrough and pictorial….

Eyes and Brows:

I started by setting my brows in place using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then I outlined and filled the brows in using the  Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler ($22 for 0.0004 oz / 0.07 g of product at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black Brown (for dark brown to black hair, neutral undertone). I cleaned up the top part of the brow using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 on their website) in the shade Creme (Very fair with warm peach undertones) and the bottom of the brows using the  Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml of product on their website) in the shade White Out, I also primed my lids with this primer.

Using a big fluffy crease brush I went into HNN and used Lace (pale lavender – matte) all through the transition from crease to brow bone.

Using a slightly smaller crease brush I went into the CPSR and used the shade  pretender (warm rose – matte) to define the crease.

Using a flat shader brush I went into the HNN and used the shade Tickle (coral pink – matte) as a base over the middle 2/3 of the mobile lids.

I put on a pair of shadow shields (using only the top part to stick to the face and flipping the lower edge out to catch eyeshadow fallout) and then using a short shader brush I applied the shade Visionary (deep rose gold based copper and metallic – marbled metallic) from HE over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

Popping into the HNN again, using a detailer brush I applied the shade Daydream (icy rose – duo chrome) over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids.

Sticking with the HNN and using a shader brush I defined the outer v of the crease using the shade Tease (deep mauve – matte).

For the lower lashline I used a thin pencil brush to create a deep drop shadow with the shade pretender (warm rose – matte) and then with a denser pencil brush I deepened the lash lines using the shade this guy (maroon – matte), both from the CPSR. I then used a fluffy crease brush with nothing on it to buff the lower lashline out. I used a thin crease brush to drag some of the maroon shade up into the outer v of the crease to further define the area. Using a bullet brush I used the shade thorn apart (warm ivory – metallic), from the same palette to highlight the inner corners of the eyes.

I tight lined both the upper and lower water lines using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil – Waterproof Eyeliner (in the black shade… no longer available). I then created mini wings on the upper lash line using the Milani Stay Put Matte 17HR Wear Liquid Eyeliner ($9.99 for 0.9 fl oz / 26.61 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Black Matte.

Complexion:

I skipped primer today because I used 2 coats of the Good Molecules Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer ($12 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 ml of product at Ulta) by mistake. I always use this as the last step of my skin care routine but I ended up using a second layer so I didn’t want to add a primer on top of it. I contoured using the Juvia’s Place I Am Magic Concealer ($14 for the 0.34 fl oz / 10.05 ml size and $10 for the 0.11 fl oz / 3.25 ml size at Ulta) in the shade #2 (for deepest dark skin w/ neutral warm undertone). For foundation I used the Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation ($40 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product on their website) in the shade Fair (porcelain with neutral warm undertones). Cream bronzer today is Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer ($8 for 0.24 oz / 6.8 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Deep (the deepest shade), cream blush is Nudestix Nudies Bloom ($34 for 0.25 oz / 7.08 g of product on their website and at Ulta) in the shade Poppy Girl (vivid glowing coral) and for cream highlighter I used the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand ($40 for 0.41 fl oz / 12 ml of product on their website and at Sephora) in the shade Goldgasm (golden highlight).  I color corrected using the Pixi By Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 for 0.10 oz / 2.83 g of product at Target and most drug stores) in the shade Brightening Peach and then concealed using the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer (discontinued due to the brand being defunct) in the shade Porcelain.I set my under eyes using the RCMA No Color Powder (14 for 3 oz / 85.4 g of product sold several places I purchase it on the Beautylish website) and the rest of my face using the Uoma Beauty Trippin Smooth Powder ($29.50 for 0.35 oz / 10 g of product on their website). My touch up powder for this week is Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy Velvet Powder Foundation ($30 for 0.25 oz / 7.08 g of product at Ulta) in the shade #4 (medium neutral), however I did not need to touch up today. I touched up my bronzer using the BECCA Sunlit Bronzer (no longer available due to company closing down) in the shade Ipanema Sun and my blush using the Becca Mineral Blush (discontinued because the company closed) in the shade Songbird (warm toned coral – satin). I touched up my highlighter using the Jouer Powder Highlighter ($25 for 0.16 oz / 4.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Citrine (gold). This highlight has 2 shades available at Sephora.

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined my lips using the NYX Suede Matte Velvet Vegan Lip Liner ($4 for 0.03 oz / 0.85 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Sandstorm (true nude) and topped that with Uoma Beauty BADASS ICON Matte Lipstick ($24 for 0.12 oz / 3.4 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Kathleen (nude) and topped the center of the lips with the Juvia’s Place Nubian Earth Lip Gloss ($14 for 0.12 fl oz / 3.8 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Oasis (shimmery copper gold). I coated my lashes in 1 coat of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara (24 for the 0.42 fl oz / 12.5 ml size and $13 for the 0.15 foz / 4.7 go size on their website and at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Cuz I’m Black (true black) and popped on a pair of  of ColourPop Falsies Faux Lashes ($8 per pair on their website) in the style Chica (lengthening and volumizing everyday lash). I set my whole face using the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray ($36 for the 3.3 oz / 100 ml size and $21 for the 1.1 oz/ 34 ml size at Sephora).

Final Thoughts:

As it will be all week long… today’s scent is today’s scent is Versace Yellow Diamond Eau de Toilette ($65 for the 1 fl oz / 30 ml size. $85 for the 1.7 fl oz / 50.28 ml size. $105 for the 3 fl oz / 88.72 ml size. Sold at Ulta).

I truly loved how this look came out… it’s super romantic and soft… omitting the black liner this would be the perfect spring bride makeup.

I am testing a setting powder right now and so far this is a dreamy product.

Well dolls… thanks for stopping by… I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick dolls…
