Smokey Glam January Week #1 Shop My Stash Look #5

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing amazing today. I had a heap of energy today and a fairly normal pain level (level 6). My thumb is still acting up but that’s to be expected until I’m back on RA meds.

For today’s look I used shades from 3 palettes…

1. Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette ($65 for 19.7 G / 0.69 OZ total product making it $3.72 and 1.09 g / 0.038 oz per pan at Sephora). I will refer to this palette as HNN.

2. Huda Empowered Eyeshadow Palette ($67 for 0.59 oz / 16.8 g of total product making it $3.72 and 0.033 oz / 0.93 g of product per pan). I will refer to this palette as HE.

3. Huda Smoke & Roses 30 Pan Palette ($34 for 1.16 oz / 33g of product making it 0.039 oz / 1.1 g and $1.13 per pan on their website). I will refer to this palette as CPSR.

Now onto the walk-through and pictorial for today’s look.

Eyes and Brows:

started by setting my brows in place using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then I outlined and filled the brows in using the  Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler ($22 for 0.0004 oz / 0.07 g of product at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black Brown (for dark brown to black hair, neutral undertone). I cleaned up the top part of the brow using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 on their website) in the shade Creme (Very fair with warm peach undertones) and the bottom of the brows using the  Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml of product on their website) in the shade White Out, I also primed my lids with this primer.

From the HE I laid down my transition shade, Best Self (mid toned peach based orange – matte) with a fluffy crease brush.

For my crease I went into the HNN with a crease brush and the shade Raw (red based brown – matte), I also defined the outer 1/3 of my mobile lids.

Using a pencil brush and a combo of the shades whisper (charcoal – matte) and spun around (red deep brown – matte) from the CPSR to define the lower part of the crease.

I defined the outer v of the crease using a small crease brush and the shade Confident (mixed toned red based brown – matte) from the HE.

I deepened the outer part of the outer v of the crease with the same crease brush I just used and the shade smoked out (blackened charcoal – matte) from the CPSR.

I laid down the shade Play (dusty peach – matte) from the HNN over the middle 2/3 of the mobile lids.

With a tiny detail brush I tapped NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 ml of product at Ulta). I then tapped the limited edition shade from Colourpop Super Shock Shadow ($7 for 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website) in the shade entranced (warm mid tone gold) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids using a pencil brush. Using the same brush I tapped the shade Crave (red base gold with pink reflect – metallic) from the HNN over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids. I then went back into the HNN with a short shader brush and more of the shade  Raw (red based brown – matte) to blend the line of demarcation between the outer and middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

I created a deep drop shadow on the lower lash lines using a pencil brush and the shade Best Self (mid toned peach based orange – matte) from the HE.

I deepened that drop shadow with a smaller pencil brush and the shade Legacy (rich terracotta based mid toned brown – matte) from the HE.

Using a small firm pencil brush and the shade Raw (red based brown – matte) from the HNN I deepened the lashline.

Deepening the lash line further with the same pencil brush and the shade Confident (mixed toned red based brown – matte) from the HE.

I tightlined my upper and lower waterlines using Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen ($12 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Ulta) in the shade black cocoa (deep brown) and then I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using a tiny pencil brush and the shade love hurts (pinky gold – metallic) from the CPSR.

Lastly I created micro wings on my upper lash line using the Maybelline Hyper Easy Brush Tip Liquid Liner ($9.99 for 0.021 fl oz / 0.62 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Pitch Brown.

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I set my whole face using the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray ($36 for the 3.3 oz / 100 ml size and $21 for the 1.1 oz/ 34 ml size at Sephora).

Final Thoughts:

There is something so classic about a smokey eye and red lip. I love pairing gold with red lips too so this eye look just screamed for me to add the lippie in this shade.

Thanks for stopping by dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
