Bright Blue Glam January Week #2 Shop My Stash Look #1

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m having a so/so day. I had energy when I did my makeup but shortly after taking the pictures for this post I started to feel very nauseous and then BAM… migraine.

I also haven’t kept up on my skincare for the past few days so my skin is angry and parched and I have learned my lesson. Because I wasn’t feeling well I promptly washed off my makeup and decided to treat my skin to a super hydrating mask and then my aha bha serum as well as eye masks.

For today’s look I used 3 palette:

1. Mikayla x Glamlite Paht Two palette ($42 for a 30 pan palette on the glamlite website). I’ll refer to this palette as the MGL2.

2.  Juvia’s Place Wahala II 30 Pan Palette (retail price $38 for 1.06 oz / 30 g of total product on their website making it 0.0035 oz / 1 g and $1.27 per shade on their website). I’ll refer to this palette as the JPW2.

3.  ColourPop x Kathleenlights So Jaded Palette. I’ll refer to this palette as the CPSJ.

Doing a blue glam look is incredibly messy and will require some cleaning up. It’s also one of those shades that’s very much a trust in the process type of look. It’s going to look crappy before it looks better.

Ok so on to today’s walk-through and pictorial…..

Eyes and Brows:

I started by setting my brows in place using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then I outlined and filled the brows in using the L’oreal Brow Stylist Definer ($9.49 for 0.003 oz / 0.09 g of product at Ulta) in the shade dark brunette. I cleaned up the top part of the brow using the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28 on their website) in the shade Creme (Very fair with warm peach undertones) and the bottom of the brows using the Juvia’s Place I Prep, I Prime ($12 for 0.41 fl oz / 12 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Shade 1 (milky white).

I started the look off with the MGL2. Using a fluffy crease brush I applied the shade No Hash Lines (pastel baby blue – matte) from lash line to brow line.

On a slightly smaller crease brush I applied the shade 2021 (cornflower blue – matte) from the same palette to the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids and the crease.

Using an even smaller crease brush I went into the JPW2 and deepened the lower crease area with the shade Fury (blue – matte).

Using the same palette and a pencil brush I darkened the outer v of the crease with the shade Dream (cobalt blue – matte).

Going into the CPSJ and a fluffy crease brush I deepened the outer v even further with the shade Sapphire (navy blue – sequin matte).

Popping back into the MGL2 using my finger I applied the shade Wicked Awesome (vivid true blue – matte) to the middle 2/3 of my mobile lids.

On a pencil brush I combined the shades Sapphire (navy blue – sequin matte) from the CPSJ and Balhckest Black (deep black – matte) from the MGL2 and deepened just the very outer part of the outer v of the crease.

Using a small shader brush I applied Nyx Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 ml of product at Ulta) and then using a tiny detail brush I applied the shade I Love You (mid toned cornflower blue with a silver flip – metallic) from the MGL2 to the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids.

Using the same brush I applied the shade Dope (blue with teal reflect – shimmer) from the JPW2 over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

I then applied the shade You (blackened navy with a lighter blue shift – metallic) from the JPW2 over the line of demarcation between the outer and middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

I cleaned up the under eyes and perfected a crisp line at the edge of the eyes using a few qtips and some face cream.

For the lower lash lines I used a stiff pencil brush and more of the shade Wicked Awesome (vivid true blue – matte) from the MGL2.

Using a pencil brush that is a bit more fluffy than the previous one I deepened the lash lines and created a slight drop shadow with the shade Dream (cobalt blue – matte).

Using an angled brush and the shade Dream (cobalt blue – matte) from the MGL2 I tapped shimmer over the whole lower lash line.

I lined the lower water lines with NYX Slide On Glide On eyeliner pencil (discontinued) in the shade Sunrise Blue.

I primed my face using Huda Beauty Glowish Blur Jam Silicone Free Smoothing Primer ($33 for 0.87 fl oz / 26 ml of product) *testing* then I contoured using Sol Face and Body Bronzing Balm ($15 for 1.01 oz / 31 g of product on the ColourPop website) in the shade deep dark. For foundation today I used the Makeup by Mario SurrealSkin Liquid Foundation ($42 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product) in the shade 2N (fair with neutral undertone) *testing*. For cream bronzer I used Wander Beauty Flash Focus Hydrating Foundation Stick ($40 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Sephora) in the shade deep and for cream blush I used Milk Makeup Bionic Liquid Blush ($22 for 0.27 fl oz / 8 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade infinity (dusty rose). I color corrected my under eyes using the  Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser ($10.99 for 0.2 fl oz / 5.9 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade #160 (brightener) and then concealed them using the Pat Mcgrath Sublime Perfection Concealer ($34 0.16 fl oz / 4.7 ml of product) in the shade L2 (lightest with neutral peach undertones). I set my under eyes using the ELF HD Undereye Setting Powder (discontinued) and then set the rest of my face using the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($40 for the 1 oz / 29 g size and $24 for the 0.33 oz / 9.3 g size at Sephora and Ulta). I then touched up my bronzer using the Huda Beauty GloWish Soft Radiance Vegan Bronzing Powder ($31 for 028 oz / 8 g of product) in the shade 03 Tan Light (warm red toned) *testing*, my blush using the Huda Beauty GloWish Cheeky Vegan Soft Glow Powder Blush ($21 for 0.08 oz / 2.5 g of product) in the shade 02 Caring Coral (midtone rosey coral). I then highlighted using LA Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powder ($9 for 0.19 oz / 5.39 g of product on their website) in the shade 90 watt (champagne gold).

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined my lips using the Nyx Suede Matte Velvet Vegan Lip Liner ($4 for 0.03 oz / 0.85 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Whipped Caviar (muted plum) and topped the lips with a combo of MAC Lipstick Cream ($21 for 3 G / 0.1 US OZ of product at Ulta) in the shade blankety (soft pink beige – amplified) and MAC Satin Lipstick ($21 for 3 G / 0.1 US OZ of product on their website) in the shade Myth (light neutral nude). I coated my lashes with LA Girl Jetsetter Mascara ($6.99 for 0.32 fl oz / 9.46 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade black and popped on a pair of Juvia’s Place Nubian Lashes ($13 at Ulta) in the style Biba. I set my makeup using MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Primer and Setting Spray ($31 for the 3.4 fl oz / 100 ml size and $16 for the 1 fl oz / 30 ml size at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

Today was not one of my favorite makeup looks. I love a good blue glam moment but the combination of not feeling well and my skin being fussy because I slacked on my skin care lead to a poor makeup look and a face that felt heavy with product. I also was testing a new primer that I do not think paired well with a new foundation I was also testing. At any rate it is what it is and I like to be my most authentic self that I can be… good skin day, bad skin day, good makeup day or bad makeup day, good hair day, bad hair day… It doesn’t matter I will post it. Not every day will be a good makeup day or skin day or even be halfway decent…. but this is my journey and I want to share it all.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
