Chop & Haul March Smokey Cool Toned Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Mine is going well. I was able to do my hair last night and there is something so uplifting about freshly dyed hair.

Today’s look is the last look I’ll be doing with the  Blend Bunny Lure 24 Pan Palette ($46 for 0.81 oz / 2.3 g of total product making it 0.0338 oz / 0.96 g and $1.92 per shade). I’ve managed to use 19 of the 24 shades… I will do a look with the green and the pink rows at some point… so I won’t have a final grade for this palette today… I want to test the other shades first.

The next 4 looks I will be doing with the Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette ($69 for 0.67 oz / 18.99 g of total product making it 0.045 oz/ 1.27 g and $4.60 per shade at Ulta).

It is billed as Natasha Denona’s best selling palette to date offering luscious chroma crystal, creamy matte, & mesmerizing metallic finishes in a range of essential shades for day or night and there are 10 metallic shades and 5 matte shades.

I’m excited for this palette. I love the mini glam palette a lot and I am finding that I just love a good cool toned eye look. The shades in this palette are just so pretty.

The shades from left to right are: Center Eye Lid – 320M (dusty light rose – metallic), Outer Eye Lid – 321M (medium warm grey brown – metallic), Inner Corner – 322K (peachy champagne – metallic), Crease – 323CM (medium cool taupe – matte) and Transition – 324CM (mushroom grey – matte).

The shades from left to right are: Smoke – 325CM (medium cool brown – matte), Blend – 326CM (cool sienna – matte), Lash Line – 327CM (deep cool brown – matte), Inner Corner – 328M (abalone – metallic) and Center Eye Lid – 329M (medium warm silver – metallic).

OK… enough small talk… Let’s get into the walk-through and pictorial for this beautiful cool toned smokey eye look….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then filled them in using the KVD Beauty Super Pomade Vegan Eyeliner, Shadow & Brow Pigment ($25 for 0.18 oz / 5.10 g of product at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown (medium to dark brown hair). I cleaned my brows (arch side) using Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($7.49 for 0.23 oz at Ulta) in the shade sand. I also cleaned the brows (brow bone side) and primed my whole eyelid space using the P.Louise Base ($13 for 0.5 fl oz on their website) in Rumour 2 (light beige).

Using a fully crease brush I applied the shade Storm Ahead (pastel taupe – matte) to my transition.

I defined my crease as well as the outer 1/3 of my mobile lids with a large crease brush and the shade Pirate’s Life (deep taupe – matte).

With a medium sized paddle brush I applied the shade Storm Ahead (pastel taupe – matte) over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids as a base from the next pigment.

I applied some shadow shields to keep for having any glitter fall out and using a large silicone applicator and NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.22 fl oz at Ulta) to prep the area for the shimmer. I then used a silicone pigment applicator to apply the shade Pearl (lilac and pink – duochrome metallic) to the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

Using the same medium sized paddle brush and more of the shade Pirate’s Life (deep taupe – matte) I created a mid sized drop shadow on the lower lash lines.

With a pencil brush and more of the shade Storm Ahead (pastel taupe – matte) I buffed the lower lash line out further.

Using the same pencil brush and a combination of the shades Pirate’s Life (deep taupe – matte) and Black Sea (mid toned black – matte) I defined the outer v slightly and then highlighted the inner corners of the yees using a tiny pencil brush and the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter ($25 for 0.098 oz / 2.8 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Exhilarate  (champagne gold).

I tightlined both the upper and lower water lines using the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen ($12 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Black Noir. I then created a mid sized wing on the upper lash line using the KVD Beauty Tattoo Liner Vegan Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner ($25 for 0.029 fl oz / 0.55 ml of product at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Trooper (satin black).

Complexion:

I primed my face using the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Always an Optimist Pore Diffusing Primer ($28 for the 0.94 fl oz / 28 ml size and $15 for the 0.50 fl oz / 15 ml size as Sephora) and then added a layer of the Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer Pore Minimizer ($39 for the 1 fl oz / 30 ml size and $20 for the 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml size at Sephora) over the cheeks and chin for added help with my pores (I can’t wait for my skin care to give me back my skin). I contoured using the Milani Conceal & Perfect Face Lift Collection Liquid Contour ($10.99 for 0.2 fl oz / 8 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Cocoa (deep brown) as contour today. For foundation I tested out the Juvia’s Place I am Magic Natural Radiance Foundation ($23 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product) in  the shade 710 Maricao. For cream bronzer I used the the Milani Conceal & Perfect Face Lift Collection Liquid Contour ($10.99 for 0.2 fl oz / 8 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Ginger (warm taupe for light to medium), for cream blush I used the Plouise The Cheek of it – Liquid Blush ($19 for 0.88 fl oz / 25 ml of product on their website) in the shade Melon Mood (fresh melon coral) and for cream highlight I used the Milani Conceal & Perfect Face Lift Collection Liquid Highlighter ($10.99 for 0.21 fl oz / 8 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Lunar (light champagne gold).I color corrected using the E.L.F. Camo Color Corrector ($7 for 0.09 fl oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) in the peach shade and concealed using the e Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Light Illuminating Smoothing Concealer ($26 for 0.16 fl oz / 5 ml of product at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Vanilla Wafer (fair with golden undertones). I set my under eyes using the  Charlotte Tilbury Refillable Airbrush Flawless Finish Brightening Powder ($48 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product at Sephora) in the shade fair/medium and the rest of my face using the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder ($36 for 0.98 oz / 28 g of product at Sephora) in the shade butter (fair/medium). I touched up the bronzer using Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer ($35 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product at Ulta and Sephora), my blush using the Essence The Blush ($3.99 for 0.17 oz / 5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade #40 Beloved (pinky coral – matte) and my highlighter using the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter ($25 for 0.098 oz / 2.8 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Exhilarate  (champagne gold).

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined my lips using the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner ($25 for 0.04 oz / 1.2 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Pillow Talk (pink nude) and then filled in my lips using the Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor ($12.99 for 0.14 fl oz 4.14 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Coy (dusty rose mauve).  gave my lashes 2 coats of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara ($24 for 0.42 fl oz / 12.5 mL at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Cause I’m Black and then popped on a pair of Juvia’s Place lashes (I don’t remember which ones, I miss place the box they came in).  I set my whole face using the LA Girl HD Pro Setting Finish Spray ($5.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

Plouise The Cheek of it – Liquid Blush ($19 for 0.88 fl oz / 25 ml of product on their website) in the shade Melon Mood (fresh melon coral).

I have always been a coral blush lover. I am only just venturing into the realm of pinks, reds and peaches. THis blue based pink coral is so pretty. It goes on like a dream, no steaks, no patches and no disturbance of the makeup below it. I’ve used this blush a handful of times and every single time I have it has been a great blush day for me. I give this blush a solid O+++!!!.

Blend Bunny Lure 24 Pan Palette ($46 for 0.81 oz / 2.3 g of total product making it 0.0338 oz / 0.96 g and $1.92 per shade)  Each shade has the potential to receive 4.167 points…. Today I’m reviewing the cool toned neutral row (the 1st row).

As a recap the palette so far has a total point value of 52.504 comprised of 14.668 for the purple row, 16.668 for the blue row, 6.667 so far for the pink row (I’ve only used 2 shades so far), and 14.501 for the teal row.

I would give the cool toned row consisting of the shades Pearl (lilac and pink – duochrome metallic), Storm Ahead (pastel taupe – metallic), Pirate’s Life (deep taupe – matte) and Black Sea (mid toned black – matte) a solid O+++!!! This is such a stunning row of cool tones. Time to break down each shade I used today.

Pearl (lilac and pink – duochrome metallic) is such a unique shade. I thought lilac and pink would cause this one to look 1 dimensional, but it doesn’t at all. There is such a gorgeous shift that happens when I go from being in the shade to being in direct light, it also changes differently when I just simply move my head around. This one is a bit more flakey than the other metallics but that’s to be expected since it’s a duo-chrome shade. This shade is so reflective that when taking pictures for the blog today I had to turn off the flash to get the pictures. I’m in love with this shade… I foretell hitting pan on this one soon. I give Pearl 4.167 points.

Storm Ahead (pastel taupe – matte) is such a unique shade… it’s a pastel taupe that plays like it’s a pale mauve. It’s really very pretty. However it’s very fiddly…. there has to be just a bit too much white pigment because it took work to get it to blend out. This shade kept wanting to create a dark line of delineation that was frustrating to buff out, but once I was able to get the blend right it was stunning. I give Storm Ahead 3 points.

Pirate’s Life (deep taupe – matte) is that deep cool toned taupe that is just stunning! It has just enough depth that it works as a crease and also as an outer v shade. It buffs out perfectly and the shade takes on a sort of duality to it the further you blend it out. I give Pirate’s Life 4.167 points.

Black Sea (mid toned black – matte) is the type of black that expertly deepens any shade without looking patchy or muddy. It has hella fallout though… and it is a nightmare to clean up. I give Black Sea 3.167 points.

To date the Lure Palette has a total point score of 67.005, though the looks I planed for this palette are completed I truly still want to work with the green and the pink row before giving a final grade and review… so far though, I am so very happy with this palette.

KVD Super Pomade Vegan Eyeliner, Shadow & Brow Pigment ($23 for 0.18 oz / 5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Magenta (vibrant pinkish purple).

This is probably the worst purchase I’ve made this year to date…. I purchased it solely as a brow pomade… it is no way pigmented enough to be a fashion color brown product. It has this weird metallic shift to it and as you can see from my brow picture it skips and goes on not only patchy but it also did this strange pilling thing that left little pink crumbs falling to my checks. I may attempt to test this at 1 more time, perhaps without setting my brows, as the pictures on Sephora’s website make this shade look like it’s opaque, perhaps with nothing in the brows and if I layer it more I may get a better outcome. As a brow pomade I give this product a tentative F-, as a liner I think it will work and there is no way this is a good option as a shadow, it’s too stiff of a formula for that.

Essence The Blush ($3.99 for 0.17 oz / 5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade #40 Beloved (pinky coral – matte).

I really enjoyed using this blush today. It is pinker than this swatch shows and it’s also not an overpowering pigmentation. It has a slight satin finish to it that lends a sense of healthy cheeks to the shade. It’s not powdery and went on smoothly. I’m glad to have this pink shade in my collection and I give it a solid O++.

E.L.F. Camo Color Corrector ($7 for 0.09 fl oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) in the peach shade.

I’ve tested this corrector out a handful of times now, I have to say it’s just OK… it gives a bit of brightness to my dark circles but I find that I have to use it across the full undereye lest it makes the darkness more pronounced. If I do use it on the full undereye it’s fine, but it’s nothing groundbreaking. I give it a solid A+.

Juvia’s Place Juvia’s Place I am Magic Powder Foundation ($18 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) in  the shade Madrid (very light).

I finally had a day where I needed to touch up a bit, this powder foundation is STUNNING!!!!! It’s hot, very hot, here in Florida today and I was outside for just a little bit so my t zone needed just a bit of shine control. For being a powder foundation this one didn’t feel heavy or cakey and it didn’t make the face look dry. I did have a bit of a running nose issue due to pollen and I was able to fix the missing foundation around the nose with ease. I give this product a solid O+++!!!.

Juvia’s Place I am Magic Natural Radiance Foundation ($23 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product) in  the shade 710 Maricao.

This is a super pretty dewy foundation! It’s the wrong shade for me (that doesn’t happen often, I’m pretty good at picking out shades even on line) but I don’t even care! It left my skin looking flawless without adding weight to the makeup. It’s about a very high medium coverage that did in fact build to full coverage in areas that I needed it to be (one of the face products that I used this week gave me a small rash but I still don’t know what cause the allergic reaction and so I needed a bit more coverage around the jawline.). It doesn’t oxidize, or break down (even in this Florida heat) and it doesn’t feel like I have anything on. I give this product a solid O+++!!!.

Well dolls, that’s it for today’s episode…. I hope you liked the look, thanks for stopping by.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
