Chop and Haul March – Fun Pop of Blue Face of the Day

Hey doll hey how’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing well… still at a level 7 pain and fatigue level 6… but at least I’m upright and able to get back to doing what I love.

I’ve had such a harsh flare this past week that I will be extending the Chop and Haul series into April so that I can test out the items I still need to test. This way I can finally put the new makeup away and declutter the things from the chopping block that I didn’t give reprieve to.

This week I am still using the Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette ($69 for 0.67 oz / 18.99 g of total product making it 0.045 oz/ 1.27 g and $4.60 per shade at Ulta). Today is look #3 with said palette. To date this palette has a score of 34.48.

Onto today’s walkthrough, pictorial and rapid fire review….

*remember as always, all hyperlinks provided are simply for fast location of the products used and not affiliate links… I just did the research so you didn’t have to. all swatched pictures are done on clean bare skin with no primer and in 1 pass to show the true pigmentation of the product*

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using Got 2 B Glued Spiking Glue ($7.99 at Ulta) and then filled them in using the Loreal Brow Stylist Definer ($9.49 for 0.003 oz / 0.085 g of product at Ulta) in the shade dark brunette. I cleaned my brows (arch side) using Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($7.49 for 0.23 oz at Ulta) in the shade sand. I also cleaned the brows (brow bone side) and primed my whole eyelid space using the P.Louise Base ($13 for 0.5 fl oz on their website) in Rumour 0 (white).

I started by laying a base shade from lash line to brow bone with a fluffy crease brush and the shade Transition – 324CM (mushroom grey – matte).

I popped on some shadow shields and using a flat shadder brush I applied the shade  Inner Corner – 328M (abalone – metallic) to my full mobile lid.

Using a small pencil brush I applied the shade Blend – 326CM (cool sienna – matte) to the outer v of the cease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. Then using a fluffy crease brush with nothing on it I buffed this shade out.

I did the same thing with the shade Smoke – 325CM (medium cool brown – matte) and a slightly larger pencil brush, keeping the deeper shade to the outer 1/2 of the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I used the same fluffy crease brush as above to buff and really get that shade to blend into the first one.

Using the NYX Retractable Long-Lasting Mechanical Eyeliner Pencil ($6.50 for 0.01 oz / 0.28 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Deep Blue (bright navy) I first created a nice sized wing liner and then followed that with tight lining both the upper and lower water lines.

Complexion:

To prime my face today I used the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Always an Optimist Pore Diffusing Primer ($15 for the 0.50 fl oz / 15 ml size and $28 for the 0.94 fl oz / 28 ml size at Sephora). I contoured using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Stick ($25 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Ulta) in the shade mink (toasted almond). For foundation I tested out the Essence Keep Me Covered Long-Lasting Foundation ($6.99 for 1.01 fl oz/ 30 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Porcelain. My cream bronzer today is the Flower Beauty Lowlight Liquid Contour ($14.49 for 0.47 fl oz / 14 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade medium. Cream highlight today is Flower Beauty Day Glow Highlighting Glaze ($10.99 for 0.12 oz / 3.4 g of product at Ulta) in the shade stunner. For my under eyes I skipped the color corrector and went straight in with the Essence Keep Me Covered Concealer ($4.99 for 0.11 fl oz / 3.5 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Pale. I set the bronzer using the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer ($35 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product at Ulta and Sephora) and the highlight using the Nabla Skin Glazing Highlighter ($24 for 0.23 oz / 6.5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Amnesia (golden champagne). I set my under eyes using the Charlotte TIlbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Brightening Powder ($48 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of total product at Sephora) in the shade white (fair/medium). I set the rest of the face using Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder ($36 for 0.98 oz / 28 g of product at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Butter (fair/medium). I skipped cream blus today and went straight in with the shade Peony (pastel peachy pink – matte) from the Juvia’s Place Garden Of Juvia’s Palette ($25 for 1.28 oz / 32 g of product making it 0.08 oz, 2 g and $1.56 per shade).

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined and filled in my lips using the NYX Retractable Long-Lasting Mechanical Eyeliner Pencil ($6.50 for 0.01 oz / 0.28 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Deep Blue (bright navy). I topped the lips with the KVD Beauty Everlasting Hyperlight Vegan Transfer-Proof Liquid Lipstick ($23 for 0.23 fl oz / 7 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade Scorpiris (indigo blue).  I coated my lashes in 2 coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara ($12.99 for 0.24 oz at Ulta) in the shade blackest black and popped on a pair of the Ardell Lash Faux Mink Wispies ($17.99 for a 4 pack at Ulta).  I set my whole face using the LA Girl HD Pro Setting Finish Spray ($5.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

This look did not photograph well but in person was super cute. The liner and lip gave it a fun little pop of color and I did get many compliments on the look. It’s a look I’d love to try with green next.

Essence Keep Me Covered Long-Lasting Foundation ($6.99 for 1.01 fl oz/ 30 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Porcelain.

The first time I used this foundation I said that it was super pretty, the shade match is perfect and it didn’t over emphasize the texture of my skin. I however had broken out along the jawline and decided not to grade it just then (only giving it a tentative O+) because I wanted to test it out again to make sure it wasn’t the foundation before giving a final grade.

This time I did not break out. I’m thinking it was the perfume I had used that day (a newer one for me).

This is such a pretty foundation, it doesn’t oxidize, it doesn’t break up throughout the day, and it really does wear well all day long. I give it a grade of O+++!!!.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Camo Color Corrector ($4 for 0.09 fl oz / 2.66 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Peach. I’ve already graded this one corrector… Again it just isn’t wowing me…I plan to use it for the rest of this week’s looks and if I just don’t fall in love with it I’m going to declutter it from my collection.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Always an Optimist Pore Diffusing Primer ($15 for the 0.50 fl oz / 15 ml size and $28 for the 0.94 fl oz / 28 ml size at Sephora).

The size I have is a 100 point perk from Sephora. I really did enjoy this primer. It’s a silicone style primer that blurred some of the pore, let’s face it I’ll be 50 in September… these pores are here to stay and I’m just not all that interested in trying to get a flawless looking skin when in reality I don’t have that kind of skin. I just need a pore primer to even out some of the more problematic areas.

This one felt smooth and left my skin feeling hydrated and not at all heavy like most pore primers do. I give this primer a solid O+++. I will definitely purchase this one at some point.

Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette ($69 for 0.67 oz / 18.99 g of total product making it 0.045 oz/ 1.27 g and $4.60 per shade at Ulta) and has a total score of 34.48 so far.

Transition – 324CM (mushroom grey – matte) is the perfect cool tone fair shade for a highlighted brow or an all over barely there shade. There is no kick back or fall out with this shade and it didn’t do the weird oxidizing thing that cool toned pale taupe shades do, you know where the shade is some spots looks darker than in other spots when you start to blend them out… well this one did not do that, it stayed uniformed throughout the full lid space. I really enjoyed this shade. I give Transition – 324CM a score of 6.67.

Smoke – 325CM (medium cool brown – matte) – already scored 6.67

Blend – 326CM (cool sienna – matte) – already scored 6.67

Inner Corner – 328M (abalone – metallic) is a very unique shade… it’s a light grey that has just a hint of a cool toned mauve in it. It’s super pretty. It was creamy, not flaky at all, and gave no fall out on the face. There was just a hint of kick back in the pan but nothing too bothersome. I give Inner Corner – 328M a score of 6.67.

We started the day with this palette having a score of 34.48 and it earned 13.34 points today giving the palette a total score of 47.82

Well that’s it for this post. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
