Lights Lacquer in the color Jefa
Hey doll hey. I hope your day is going good. I’m having a bad Fibromyalgia day and don’t have the spoons left to do a new pedicure, and since this color is still going strong on my toes and I will be wearing open toed shoes tomorrow…, so I thought I would just reuse the color Jefa again… and hey it’s green so it’s Christmasy.
It’s been 2 weeks and mt toes still look freshly painted. I really like this milky sage color.
I ordered her Christmas launch and hopefully I will have a good spoon day when it gets here so I can show you just how beautiful the new colors are.
Well that’s all for now dolls…
Remember save a spoon for a bit of makeup
Lights Lacquer in the color HBIC
I chose the darkest color of the Kathleen Lights launch. The color is called HBIC, it’s a dusty black with a silver reflect. I covered almost completely with 1 coat , I added a 2nd coat just to cover some of the streaks. In direct sunlight I could see through the polish just a little bit so the 2nd coat just rounded the polish out some.
Like the other polishes in this line, this polish dried completely in 5 minutes.
My last mani lasted a full week with just a few chips …. mainly because I was opening a ton of boxes I got in the mail with makeup in it.
I’m looking forward to picking up the new Christmas nail launch.
Well that’s it for now dolls…. have a great day and remember to save a spoon for a bit of makeup….
y doll hey!!! We made it through the weekend…. bring on the week. Today I continue my review of the new Kathleen Lights Lights Lacquer nail polish line (retails for $9.50 on th Lights Lacquer website).
Today I used the color Jefa (that means lady boss). Jefa is a dusty sage green creme polish. For a full review of the polish visit Mani Monday Episode 1 .
As always I use Sally Hansen Complete Care 4 in 1 Moisturizing Treatment ($13.49 at Target) as my base and top coats. This color is gorgeous in person!! It’s dusty enough to be a great Fall/Winter color and just light enough to be a Spring/Summer color.
Jefa went on completely opaque in 1 coat and, just like last weeks mani, completely dried in 5 minutes.
This color is so wardrobe versatile, not like most greens that seem to clash with anything not green. It makes a cute toe polish color too. I was afraid it would be too light of a color for my toes but it has just enough depth that I can pull it off.
Unlike last week’s mani this week I have used a top coat. I want to see if the top coat will protect the edges of my nails from rubbing away when I scratch.
Well that’s all for now dolls… I’ll keep you updated later this week to show you the wear and tear of my nails.
Ta ta for now and as always save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
Day 1 of my Manicure
Hello dolls. I thought I’d pop in and do a follow up to my Mani Monday Review on Lights Lacquer , Kathleen Lights’ nail polish line.
This week I really put this manicure to the test. I was dishes, I washed pots and pans, I scrubbed the stove, I even used my nails to pick packages open. I even used my nails to scrub my hair clean. I did my best to beat this polish up. I didn’t even follow up with a top coat.
I wanted to put this polish through the ringer to see just how much it could take and my answer is …. a hell of a lot!
There was absolutely no chipping. None what so ever!!! That’s a vast improvement over all the polishes I own.
Now, with that said I did however have rub off happen to my nails, from scratching my dry skin or my head, from picking at packages with my nails, from scrubbing the stove clean, from washing my hair …. this is normal wear and tear …. considering I did not use a top coat to protect against this.
I am so pleased with this nail polish. Long wearing, fast drying, one coat wonder!
The polish is affordable and high quality. A definite good value.
Stay tunes Monday from another beautiful color in the Lights Lacquer line. This time I will use a top coat to see how long the manicure will last during normal wear and tear.
Thanks for stopping by and as always save a spoon for a bit of makeup.
Lights Lacquer by Kathleen Lights in the Color Woman
Good morning dolls and welcome to my first Mani Monday!!
Today I review for you Kathleen Lights’ new polish line Lights Lacquer ($9.50 on the Lights Lacquer website and a bundle of 6 of the 7 colors is offered for $52 making each shade offered in the bundle $8.67). Her line has 7 colors … 4 cremes, 1 glitter in a jelly base, and 2 shimmers. I purchased 4 of the colors that I will review for you.
This week’s mani is in the color Woman. It is a cadet blue creme that billed as being 7-Free ….meaning that it does not contain the harsh chemicals that are found in most polishes, however on Kathleen’s website she explains that her polishes are actually free of 12 of the most harmful chemicals for nails. Her polish is also made in the USA.
I use Sally Hansen Complete Care 4 in 1 Moisturizing Treatment ($13.49 at Target) as my base and top coats, yes I know it’s not 7 free but it’s my favorite clear coat and what I use to gauge the wear of all new polishes. (if only Kathleen would come out with a base and top coat as companions to her amazing polish line!!!)
Woman went on completely opaque in 1 coat that dried in 5 minutes. What I noticed right off the bat is that Kathleen kept her signature square bottle with brushed rubber cap, thank goodness because I purchased nail polish stands that fit her bottles perfectly. What is different is the shape of the brush, it is an improvement to design. Many of you know that she had another polish company called KL Polish that she chose to step away from due to creative differences, the brush on the KL polishes is wider with a rounded tip and for my small nail beds I found it difficult to not get the polish all over my fingers … with the new and improved brush tip it is narrower and fits my nail beds and toes perfectly. I wish she would have kept the rounder tip because it made it easy to get close to the cuticle line but this polish is so good that it doesn’t even matter that she didn’t keep that feature. I also noticed that the scent has changed, the Lights Lacquer formula isn’t as strong as KL polish is, I’m not sure why that is since both lines are 12 free …. but it is a welcomed bonus for my husband who hates the smell of polish.
Final thoughts on this polish are … It is an amazing polish at an affordable price. I was super impressed with Kathleen’s polish line when it was KL Polish and I’m even more impressed with her new line Lights Lacquer. I can’t wait for her to launch more colors … and totally plan on picking up the other 3 colors in her line.
Stay tuned next week for another Mani Monday and as always remember dolls …. save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
