Soft Romantic Mulan Palette Face of the Day

Published May 17, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I didn’t get to sleep last night (well this morning) until 5 AM… and I awoke around 10:15 AM … so needless to say I am extremely fatigued and in a heap of pain.

Today’s perfume is JLo Glow…. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …

Base:

I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ($37 at Sephora) in Smoothing. I then went in with Believe Beauty All Over Glow Illuminator ($5 only at Dollar General Stores) in the shade Golden Glow. My foundation I chose today was ColourPop No Filter Foundation ($12 on their website) in the shade Medium 100. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and on the Charlotte Tilbury website) in the shade Medium Dark to contour the perimeter of my face and down the bridge of my nose. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Glowgasm Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website, The Charlotte Tilbury website and at Sehora) in the shade Goldgasm and then I went in with just a touch of Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie to set the high points of my face. I concealed my under eyes using Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Concealer High Coverage Concealer ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 005 Light Natural. I warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 on the Tarte website) in the shade Grace Bay (deep matte bronze). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then topped off  the perimeter of my face using a light layer of MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. I chose the Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil ($9.50 on their website) in the shade Brunette. I carved out the brow line using BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. and then set the brow line using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in Sugar (icy white pearl). For today’s eye look I used the new ColourPop Mulan Palette ($22 on their website). I started with the shade Fighter (peachy beige matte) to warm up the crease from crease to brow line. I then went into the shade Strength (rich terracotta matte) for the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then went into the shade Loyal (rich red with gold flex foiled) and patted that over the middle 1/3 of my mobile lid. I then took the shade Like A Girl (silver taupe metallic) and patted that over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took a small definer brush and a bit more of the shade Loyal and feathered out the edges of the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took the shade Guiding Spirit (deep red brown matte) and further defined the very outer part of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. For the lower lash line I created a soft drop shadow with more of the shade Fighter and then I took more of the shade Strength and warmed up the lash line. I then defined the lash line using more of the shade Guiding Spirit. I high lighted my inner corners using the shade Strike A Match (icy champagne with pinpoints of bronze metallic).  I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic. I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black.

Final Thoughts:

ColourPop Mulan Palette: Grade A+++!!!: This is such a pleasant palette to work with. There was barely any kickback and I only had fallout on the face with the shade Like A Girl (there was a bit of glitter fallout that was easy to remove). The mattes are finely milled and the metallics are buttery. The foiled shadow was so creamy and so easy to apply. The mattes didn’t skip, buffed in beautifully, and did not get muddy when I buffed them into each other. At first glance this palette just looks like a neutral palette with a few pops of brightness peppered throughout… but the thing is this palette’s mid-tone shades have such great differences in undertone that the amount of looks you can get with this palette is limitless.

20200516_2319517003681136130187622.jpg

ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush in the shade Good Luck Charm: Grade A- : This is a pretty blush. I typically don’t like satin blushes because of the extra glow it gives the skin on top of my highlighter…. however this color is so pretty and just tied into this look so perfectly. This blush isn’t overly pigmented… I did have to go back into the pan a second time to get the best color payoff, but that’s not too bad. This blush is hard pressed so there was no kickback in the pan. It buffed into the checks without skipping or going patchy. I will definitely use this blush again.

20200516_2318205697712025384134343.jpg

ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in the shade Hua Mulan: Grade A++: What a pretty neutral color! It’s not too pink and not too brown it’s a happy even mix between the two. It’s not the longest lasting lip color (even with layering it over lip liner). It’s a creamy formula that has a bit of a powdery feeling (meaning it’s not a greasy feeling lip product). It doesn’t bleed or travel outside the lip line either. I sort of wished I would have purchased a second one because I can tell I will be using this a ton this summer.

Well that’s it for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember dolls … save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Saturday’s Halo Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Published May 17, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I had a full day Saturday so I wasn’t able to get to my daily post until just now (12:15 AM).

I’ve been running errands all day and then I had myself a little craft day. I did a bunch of tie dyed outfits today. (more on that in another post).

Today’s perfume is Davidoff Cool Waters… Let’s jump into Saturday’s Face of the Day ….

For today’s look I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on their website)… I’m getting anxious because I have now hit pan on 2 of the shades in this palette and they are still currently out of stock. I started by setting the brow line using the shade Aura Matte  (vanilla). I then went in with the shade Soothe Matte (camel) to warm up the crease (from crease to brow line). I then went in with a mid-sized fluffy blender brush and the shade Ritual Matte (rich chocolate) on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lid from lash line to brow line. I then took whatever was left on the brush that I used Soothe with and buffed out the harsh line at the brow line buffing the 2 shades together at the top of the middle 1/3 of the lid. I then went in with the shade Story Metallic (bright nectarine with gold shimmer) and patted that on the very center of the middle 1/3 of the lid from lash to brow line. I then took a small definer brush and more of the shade Ritual Matte and buffed it into the outer edges of the middle 1/3 of the lid from lash to brow line. For the lower lash line I used more of the shade Soothe Matte along the lower lash line and then deepened it up using more of the shade Ritual Matte and then to add a bit of warmth and to try in the halo part of this look to the lower lash line I used a hint of Story Metallic in the very center of the lower lash line and then took the shade Story Matte (burnt orange) and smudged it as close as possible to the lashes. I highlighted my inner corners with Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (pink champagne with silver reflects).

Cheeks and Lips:

For my blush I used the MAC Powder Blush ($25 only at MAC) in the shade Pinch O’ Peach (a peachy coral matte). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink  (terracotta rose) and then topped my lips off with ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick ($8 on their website) in the color Lay Over ( medium rosy beige).

Final Thoughts:

I finally got my ColourPop order and it was so worth the long wait!!! I’ll be posting a makeup haul post shortly.

I also received my Juvia’s Place order and the palettes are so freaking amazing!

I’ll be up for a little longer tonight… I have 2 more cycles of wash to do (I have to wash out the dye from 2 more colors) so I’ll post my haul and also my 2 month brow check in.

Because I’ll be up late I might not be able to do a face of the day for Sunday…. It’s will depend on what time I actually get out of bed and how my body feels when I do.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits.

Remember dolls…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Published May 15, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Mine is going OK. I woke up early and my pain level is holding in the middle and my energy is pretty good today. My lower back hurts a heap because I was standing for a long time (I was tie dying a few new outfits).

Today I am not wearing any perfume because I woke with a headache. Let’s jump into today’s soft focus halo eye.

For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette ($20 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website) and 3 shadow’s from The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Ador and Meet Matt(e) Nude palettes (both palettes are discontinued … they were limited edition). Final Thoughts:

I love that with this Nubian 3 palette I can go from light and airy summer vibes to a smokey night on the town look. This palette is just stunning.

I haven’t worn lashes in so long that my lash line feels super heavy, but I thought that this look called for a bit more drama than my natural lashes could handle.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and great health.

For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette ($20 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website) and 2 shades from the Juvia’s Place The Nudes by Juvia palette ($14 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website). I started with the Nudes palette and went into the 1st shade of the 2nd row (light rose matte) and ran that all through my crease all the way to the brow line. I then went into the Nubian 3 palette and took the 4th shade of the 2nd row (dusty coral tan matte) and ran that through the crease and stopped just a little lower than the brow line. I then took the 4th shade of the 3rd row (deep-toned peachy coral matte) and buffed that into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then went into the 3rd shade of the 3rd row (peachy coral metallic with a slight gold flip metallic) and patted that on the remain 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then went into the 1st shade of the 2nd row (a mid-toned deep reddish terracotta metallic) and patted that over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the inner and outer 1/3’s together. I then went into the 2nd shade of the 2nd row (warm toned deep brown matte) and buffed that into the very outer part of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the very outer part of the outer v of the crease to just add a hint of definition. I created a subtle drop shadow on the lower lash line starting with more of the dusty coral tan shade and then deepened the lash line using more of the deep-toned peachy coral shade. I then used the light rose shade from the Nudes palette to buff the harsh lines away. To highlight my inner corners I used the 1st shade of the 1st row of the Nudes palettes (peachy champagne with a slight silver flip metallic). To highlight the brow line I used the L’Oreal 24-HR Infallible Eyeshadow ($9.49 at CVS and on Amazon) in the shade #899 Endless Pearl (vanilla matte). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic) and created medium sized wing along the upper lash line using ColourPop Creme Gel Colour ($7 on their website) in the shade Swerve (jet black). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black.

Cheeks and Lips:

I applied my blush with the rest of my cream products since I was using Tarte Sugar Rush Beach Cheeks Cream Blush ($15 on their website) in the shade Beaches & Cream (a peachy pink). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink  (terracotta rose) and then tapped a bit of L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade I Create (a pale dusty coral) over the top.

Final Thoughts:

I really love that I have a beauty fridge!! It’s so tiny and keeps my skin care super cool. This means there is longevity in the active ingredients and there’s the added anti-inflammatory benefit since the products are cold.

I am going to do another post tonight. I’m making Bacalao Guisido (Stewed Salted Cod) for supper and it’s one of my hubby’s favorite dishes.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Neutral Look With A Pop Of Blue Face of the Day

Published May 12, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I actually woke up fairly early today (around 7:30 AM) and I feel well rested and my pain level is pretty normal today. My energy fluctuating but I was able to cook lunch for my Mom and still have enough energy to sit down and do my makeup … so basically I’ve beat my illness today.

For perfume today I am wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures…. Now, let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

20200512_160506822184157533819016.jpg

Base:

I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ($37 at Sephora) in Smoothing. I then went in with the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Light Medium. My foundation today is J Cat Beauty’s HD Perfection Skinsealer Foundation (regularly $7.99 but on sale for $5 on their website) in the shade Warm Honey (it’s too dark and too orange for me so I mixed in some NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (both are $12 on their website) in white and also in olive and that created the perfect shade for me). I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and on the Charlotte Tilbury website) in the shade Medium Dark to contour the perimeter of my face and down the bridge of my nose. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website) and then I went in with just a touch of Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie to set the high points of my face. I concealed my under eyes using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer ($32 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Fair.

For today’s eye look I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette (discontinued). I started by setting my eye base using the shade Laetus (a warm toned beige matte). I then went into the shade Ludwin (a warm toned peachy orange matte) all through the crease up to the brow line. I then went into the shade Lucius (soft beige satin) all over the mobile lid and then I patted a light layer of Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Fairytale (icy white pearl) over the top, and then I felt that the mobile lid was too bright so I went into more of the shade Ludwin and dusted a very light layer of that over the top of the mobile lid. I then went into the shade Samael (dusty fawn matte) into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and then into the outer v of the crease. I wanted it a bit deeper so I then layered the shade Sytry (chocolate brown matte) and then I wanted it a bit warmer so I then layered the shade Succubus (rich rust matte) over the top of the other 2 shades. I then took a clean fluffy crease brush and buffed the whole eye look out to make sure there was no harshness to this look … I wanted an almost airbrushed look to the shadows. For the lower lash line I created a soft focus drop shadow starting with more of the shade Laetus and then more of Samael and then finally Sytry to deepen the lash line up and then I went into more of Succubus to warm up the under eye and then I buffed out the edges using more of Ludwin. I then went back to the brow line and smudges in a bit of Liberatus (a cool toned whitish beige matte). I highlighted the inner corners using Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie. I then lined my lower water lines using Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website) in the shade Nude. I then created i mid-sized wing on my upper lash line using Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-HR Eyeshadow (was gifted to me when my best friend passed away last year but can be found on Amazon for $6.50 and can be found on Walmart’s website) in the shade Tenacious Teal.

I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Another Round (rosey nude) and then tapped a bit of L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade I Empower (a pale dusty peachy coral) over the top and then I topped it off with a light layer of NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on their website) in the shade Striptease (a champagne nude).

Final Thoughts:

I really like this muted look with a punchy pop of teal in the winged eyeliner. I could have played up the lip a little more but I kinda dig the only pop of bright color comes from the lash line.  I really want to play around with more colorful lash lines … I typically only wear black and brown on my upper lash line … but this pop of color is so fun.

I will be doing another Spanish food blog tomorrow because I’ll be making Bacalao Guisado (Stewed Salted Cod). So stay tuned.

My beauty fridge should be delivered tomorrow of course I will post about it once it’s set up.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits.

Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Soft Focus Spring Look Face of the Day

Published May 11, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up early for a change. I’m not in as much pain today but my energy is still pretty low. I really hate days like this… this illness tends to zap all my peace away… but I didn’t let it take my happy time away from me … I stuck it out and was able to create a soft spring look for today.

Today’s scent is Burberry Britt perfume. Let’s jump right into today’s Face of the Day ….

I then went in with the shade Nova (nude clay matte) all through the crease up to the brow line. I then took the shade Chromosphere (deep red brown matte) and defined the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the very outer part of the outer v of the crease. I used the shade So Sirius (gold metallic) on the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid and then I went into the shade Marz (icy moss with a silver flip metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid buffing at the sides to soften the delineation between shades. For my lower lash lines I used more of the shade Nova and created a drop shadow. I then went into more of the shade Chromosphere to deepen the look along the lash line. I highlighted the inner corners using more of the shade Marz. I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara ($20 at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

So I am awaiting (with baited breath) on several purchases:

I am waiting on:  my beauty fridge (comes on Wednesday), the Mulan Eyeshadow palette, both Mulan Collection Blushes, The Mulan Lipstick in Hau Mulan (those were mailed out today, finally), 9 of the 10 brow highlighter pencils from BH Cosmetics (when I received my BH Cosmetics shipment only 1 of the 10 pencils was in the box … it has taken 11 days for them to correct their mistake and it’s STILL not mailed out …. I may be considering not purchasing anymore from BH Cosmetics after this experience), The Nubian 3 palette for Juvia’s Place that I purchased at Ulta (should be here by the 13th), a few pairs of false lashes I purchased from an Etsy shop (should be here by the 14th), The Warrior 1, Warrior 2, and The Chocolates Palettes from the Juvia’s Place website, and then from the NYX website I purchased : The Wonder Stick in deep dark, the pro foundation palette, Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush is the shades Summer Breeze and Citrine Rose, The Can’t Stop Wont Stop Contour Concealers in the shades Walnut and Vanilla, 2 Micro-Duo Contour Pencils in the shade Deep, and Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Jelly Cheek Color in the shade Coral (I should receive this shipment by Friday).

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits.

Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
