Trash Talk Tuesday: June/July 2020 Empties

Published July 21, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m starting to feel stronger.

I’m just popping in with a quick empties post, so let’s get started…..

Pearlessence Coconut Rose Hydrating Face Mist : $12.95 for 8 fluid ounces on Amazon. It’s billed as being formulated with coconut water, which rehydrates the skin and provides a new glow; rose, which is hydrating, high in antioxidants and great at reducing redness and inflammation and aloe vera, which is light, healing and hydrating.

This is my 2nd bottle of this spray and typically lasts me 2 1/2 months. It’s very hydrating and smells amazing. I use it as the 5th step in my skin care regimen and it gives the perfect amount of moisture to the skin before my face serums. I’ve already repurchased a bottle (but this time in just the Coconut scent).

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray : $16.99 for 3.4 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as the 1st mist and fix makeup spray that extends your just applied makeup look all day that provides the ultimate fixing power to extend the vibrancy and freshness of your look from morning to night. No cracking, fading or running.

It’s the first time I tried this spray. It lasted about a month 1/2. It was a pretty good setting spray. The sprayer is a bit aggressive but that didn’t bother me too much. My makeup was locked in place all day with this spray and there is no annoying scent to this setting spray. I have many setting sprays that I have to get through so I wont be repurchasing this one at this time … however I did add it to my beauty buy list for a future purchase. I definitely will repurchase this one in the future.

Belif Aqua Bomb Mist : $34 for (2) 2.02 fluid ounce bottles at Sephora. It’s billed as an ultra-fine, soft, and lightweight mist formulated with Aqua Bomb’s lady’s mantle (a natural herbal anti-inflammatory and astringent) extract and star weed to hydrate skin for a healthy glow without smudging makeup.

I enjoyed this spray. I enjoyed the nozzle on the spray as well. It did well at melting all my makeup into the skin more but it didn’t do much for the longevity of my makeup. I still have 1 of the 2 bottles that comes in the set and I will use it but I’m not sure if in the future I will repurchase it. Perhaps I will just for to use as a spray to mesh all my base products together … but then again that IS an extra step that I just don’t really need to add to my makeup routine.

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Parfum : $99 for 1.7 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as being for the woman who lives in the present, who is filled with honesty, truth and gratitude, and who is free of social constraint, to emblazon her own unique path. It has a powdery sophisticate scent that has notes of : at the top the notes are Black Currant and Pear, in the middle the notes are Iris, Jasmine, Sambac and Tunisian Orange Blossom, and rounding out the scent the notes are Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Praline, and Patchouli.

This is such an amazing scent! It’s so elegant yet there is a hint of a rebel in it. This bottle lasted me 2 years and I only just finished it today. I do want to repurchase it, I feel that my collection would not be complete without this scent, however I will not repurchase it for a little while because I have tons of perfumes right now. I have put it on my beauty buy list for future purchase.

La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 Face Sunscreen for Combination Skin SPF 60 : $29.99 for 1.7 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. (Although I purchase mine from Amazon). It’s billed as being an ultra-light, fast absorbing texture that provides a matte finish. Suitable to use under makeup. Water resistant (80 minutes).

This is the first bottle of this sunscreen I have tried and using the correct amount of product (it is said that one should use about a nickle sized amount of sunscreen for the face, neck, and ears) I got about 3 months of product. This sunscreen isn’t greasy, doesn’t break down my makeup, and leaves the face feeling super hydrated. I really do love this sunscreen and have already repurchased and am currently using it.

BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder : $39 for .35 ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as a weightless setting powder that refreshes and cools the skin with all-day moisture. It claims to be formulated with 50% water and sets makeup while refreshing and cooling skin on contact with a mist-like sensation, a weightless powder applies seamlessly, providing all-day moisture without caking. Light is diffused across the skin to improve tone and diminish the appearance of lines and pores all day.

This one was a free deluxe sample gift with purchase sent to me by BECCA Cosmetics and I got about 2 weeks worth of use out of it. I love this powder! It’s so unique. It really does feel like I’ve spritzed my face with a mist. It really does blur the fine lines and pores as well as set the makeup in place all day. I only have to touch up 1 time and it’s typically around the 6 or 7 hour mark that I have to touch up. I have in fact purchased the full sized jar and am currently waiting for it to be delivered.

No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Night Cream : $24.99 for 1.6 ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as a rich moisturizing night cream that works while the skin is at rest to help restore the skin and replace lost moisture overnight. Reduces the appearance of deeper lines, wrinkles and firms the skin.

I have used this product for such a long time. I think going on 5 1/2 years now. I love the way this makes my skin feel and look. It really does reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. A jar typically lasts me 2 to 3 months of daily use. I have just opened my back up jar of this and will be purchasing another jar shortly.

Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer : $32 for .75 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as The power of The POREfessional… plus 12-hour* hydration. It claims to defeat pores and dryness in one step that’s a silky-smooth, hydrating face primer instantly moisturizes & refreshes skin, helps makeup stay put, and minimizes the look of pores & fine lines.

I had the travel sized tube. It lasted me about a month. I liked it (much more than I ever liked the original) and I am keen to purchase the full size. I think I’ll purchase it next month.

No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum : $25.62 for 1.69 fluid ounces of product on Amazon. It’s billed as a serum is powered by Matrixyl 3000 Plus, a combination of the most powerful form of Matrixyl (an anti-aging peptide comprised of two proteins) plus a next generation peptide that works together to help restore more youthful skin. It claims to have a patented antioxidant complex that helps protect skin from future signs of aging.

Again, I’ve used this product for 5 1/2 years now and I just simple love the way it makes my skin look. It feels velvety on the skin and really sinks in quickly. I just opened my back up so I will be repurchasing it shortly.

Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner : $14 for 4 fluid ounces of prodcut on the Beautylish website. It’s billed as being able to promote bright, even skin and less visible pores with this alcohol-free toner, it’s formulated with a soothing blend of brightening ingredients that work to reduce the appearance of dullness, uneven skin tone, and enlarged pores.

This is the 3rd bottle of this toner. I just opened a bottle and I have 1 on back up. It doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight or dry. It truly has re-textured my face. My skin is brighter and the pores appear tighter.

Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum : $6 for 1 fluid ounce on the Beautylish website. It’s billed as being formulated with hyaluronic acid, this water-light serum draws moisture to the skin for long-lasting hydration. With just one use, skin appears smooth, supple, and well-hydrated.

This is the best Hyaluronic Acid I have ever used. My skin after just the first time using it was super hydrated, plump, and glowy. I have another one ready to use but they were out of it so I had to order a different brand from Amazon, once I’ve used that one up I will be switching back to the Good Molecules one as it’s the best of the best!

BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter : $5 (but on sale for $1.75) on their website. It’s billed as a double-ended matte and shimmer brow highlighter with the matte side for a soft, subtle highlight or the shimmer side for an added glow.

I freaking love this product so much! I’ve even used it as a lid primer and as a lower waterline brightener. I have 8 in back up and am currently working on a new pencil.

Joah Brow Down to Me Precision Brow Pencil : $9.50 on their website. It’s billed as a dual ended ultra fine brow pencil that creates fine hair-like strokes, while the spoolie side smooths brows into place. It claims to be budge proof, smudge proof, and lasts all day.

Out of all the products I tried form Joah, this is the best product. I truly did love using this brow pencil. I have it on my beauty buy list for the future but will not be repurchasing it for some time because I have several brow pencils I need to get through first.

Revolution Pro Define and Fill Brow Pencil : $8 at Ulta. It’s billed as an ultra-fine brow pencil that creates the most convincing hair-like strokes for a natural and soft looking brow. The weighted component sits comfortably in the hand in order to support precise application, letting you be in control of your own brows.

This is the 3rd pencil I’ve been through. I absolutely LOVE this brow pencil! I have a back up ready to open once I finish getting through a few pencils that I have open now and I will 100% be repurchasing this again in the future.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil : $10 at Ulta. It’s billed as an eyebrow pencil really does it all – shape, define and fill in sparse brows in a flash. It claims to be so precise it coats even the finest hairs with color for a natural-looking finish, super-skinny tip draws ultra-fine lines, allowing you to create the look of natural brow hairs in just a flick of the wrist. A two-in-one eyebrow shaper and eyebrow tint, the Micro Brow Pencil is dual-ended for easy brow care and helps to easily create a thick, natural brow shape

I’ve used countless of these pencils in the past, however …. there are other affordable brow pencils out there that I feel are much better than this one so I will not be repurchasing it, but I do have 2 back up pencils in my stock.

Well that’s all for this empties post …. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember dolls…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO, Nita

End of May and Part of June Empties

Published June 10, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope.

I’ve got another Empties post for you today. Let’s get started ….

O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Hand Cream $8.74 on Amazon

I really enjoy this hand cream. It’s not greasy and it soaks in very well. This tub took about 5 months to get through and I have already repurchased it and am currently using it now.

Shiseido Facial Cotton $12 at Sephora

I loved these cotton pads …. I have since replaced them with reusable bamboo pads but I still have 1 pack left of the Shiseido ones so I use them to remove my nail polish. I will not be repurchasing because I no longer use them for skin care and if I need something for nail polish removal I can find something cheaper at the dollar store.

Holifrog Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash $36 on the Beautylish website

This is a great face wash. I use it as my second cleanse step at night and as my only face wash in the morning. It’s gentle and doesn’t dry out the skin. I have repurchased it and am currently using it now.

Kleem Organics Vitamin C Serum $16.97 on Amazon

This is a really nice Vitamin C serum. It’s gentle enough to use under the eyes and doesn’t leave a stick residue behind. I have already repurchased and am currently using it.

Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Cleansing Gel * Discontinued *

I’ve had this in my bathroom forever and day … I just didn’t enjoy this one much. It’s a bit drying on the skin but worked well on the pores.

Good Molecules Niacinamide Serum $6 on the Beautylish website

This is a really great face serum. It’s a 10% solution that minimizes the appearance of pores and uneven tone and texture. I have repurchased and am currently using it.

No 7 Youthful Eye Serum $19.19 each on Amazon

I have used this eye serum for many years now. It’s gentle and hydrating and really preps the eyes for moisturizer. I’ve already repurchased and am currently using it.

ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil $5 at Ulta or on the ELF website

This is good brow pencil. It’s a micro point pencil that really lasts all day long. I have other brow pencils to get through so I have not repurchased for now, however once I’ve used up more of my other brow products I will be repurchasing this one.

NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner in the shade Whipped Caviar $4 at Ulta

This is my go to lip liner. I absolutely love this lip liner. It’s the perfect pinky nude bordering on coral lip liner. I have a new one open and I have 3 back ups.

L’Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner in the shade Coral $5.95 on Amazon

This was my go to true coral lip liner. It’s creamy and lasts all day. I want to repurchase but I have so many lip liners right now that I will hold off for now on repurchasing it.

Well that’s all for now dolls …. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

So… let’s talk rubbish…..

20200518_1746033318424820956776156.jpg

Bioderma $44.70 for 3 bottles on Beautylish. It should be no surprise that I have more Bioderma empties … I love this stuff. I from the start of the year I had been using this as a 1st cleanse morning and night…. This month I switched that to nightly only. I only do a water cleanse and than a soap cleanse in the mornings now… I find that my skin prefers this method. I still have 2 back ups and 1 that I am currently working on.

20200518_174829811590176752216260.jpg

o’keeffe’s cooling relief lip repair $25 for a 6 pack on Amazon. I actually went through 3 of these I just lost the other 2 tubes. This is the only lip balm I will ever use. I use a sleep mask as a lip serum and once that sinks in I use this lip balm and my lips stay soft and hydrated all day. I have placed an order for another 6 pack.

ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Spray $12 at Ulta and on their website. I really did enjoy this setting spray however I still have about 2 weeks left but the problem is that the nozzle has gone wonky. It use to have a beautiful mist when sprayed and now it comes out as long stream ruining my makeup. I will repurchase this one next month, however if this happens again I will discontinue purchasing this product. I think I will save what is left and once I’m done with my current setting spray I may switch what’s left to the empty bottle.

Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum $6 on the  Beautylish website. This stuff is liquid gold! I have repurchased and already started using this one. It’s currently out of stock so I’ll have to repurchase it through the Good Molecules’s website.

20200518_1748046903267444999080758.jpg

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil $24 at Ulta and Sephora This by far is my favorite brow pencil. I have a fresh one open and 1 on back up

Empties for March/April 2020

Published April 13, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great i hope. I’m just popping in with another Empties post…. so let’s talk rubbish ….

20200413_151658

Bioderma: I purchase mine off the Beatylish website in a 3 pack for $44.70 and I use to go through 1 bottle a month and that’s because I use this to first remove my makeup and then to cleanse my face. Now, since I started using the Face Halos that I purchased on Amazon for $29 for a 3 pack, I just use this as my first cleanse morning and night…  So now I anticipate that a bottle will last me probably a month and 1/2 to 2 months.  I have already repurchased another 3 bottles and I still have 1 bottle unopened from my last purchase. I just love this Miceller Water. It’s not too harsh, it never leaves my skin feeling stripped, and it;s gentle on the eye area.

20200413_151637

Nature’s Bounty Hand, Skin, and Nails Gummies: I’ve been using this brand for a few years … I purchase them on Amazon for $21 for a 3 pack … you take 2 everyday so 1 bottle lasts me 6 weeks. I still have 1 bottles so I have not repurchased this yet. If you are a long time reader of mine, you know I had a hair bleach accident and had to shave my head … this was the supplement I took to help my hair grow faster. It truly does work. I feel like my hair is stronger and thicker and I have noticed that my nails grow in stronger too.

20200413_151614

Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder in the shade Translucent:  You can only get this loose powder at Dollar General stores. I purchased this one for $5 for a .14 ounce pot. I loved this powder so much!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!! It’s finely milled… a little goes a very long way. It leaves the face blurred to perfection. It’s a matte powder that never looks cakey or dusty. I have plans to repurchase this but am waiting until I need essentials to go out and purchase it … I don’t want to just run out to the store to pick up a loose powder during quarantine… that wouldn’t be fair to the people around me.

20200413_151602

Catrice Cosmetics Light Correcting Serum Primer in the shade Candlelight: I purchase mine from Ulta for $10.99 for .47 fluid ounces. I don’t use this as a primer … I use it as a glow drop mix in. I have repurchased this product already. I truly like this product. It gives this lit from within glow to your foundation and it doesn’t have glitter in it. It’s also very light weight.

20200413_151550

O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Cooling Relief Lip Balm: I purchase this on Amazon. I get a 6 pack for $23. This lip balm single-handedly saved my lips. I use to have the most dry chapped lips and since I already had been using the O’Keeffe’s hand repair I thought I’d give it a shot… so glad I did. I use to use it before bed too but I just recently purchased a sleeping mask so now I just use this throughout the day to add back moisture. This by far is my favorite lip balm ever

20200413_151518

BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter: I purchase this off the BH Cosmetics website normally for $5 but they are on sale currently for $1.75 for I just purchased 10 more … I still have 3 from the last time I purchased it but I love this brow highlighter to carve out my brow line when I’m sharpening up my brows so I always like to make sure I have it on hand. So when ever it goes on sale I bulk buy it.

20200413_151501

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in the shade 4.5: I purchase mine from Ulta for $24 for .002 ounces. I just placed an order for 2 more and should be receiving them next week.

20200413_151451

Duo Brush-On Adhesive: I purchase mine at Ulta normally for $6.49, however it’s currently on sale for $3.89 for .18 fluid ounces. This is the only eye lash glue I have ever used. I have already repurchased and I have a back up also. I find this one to be the most gentlest on the lashes and it’s also the easiest to remove with just a touch of warm water…. I have tried other lash glues … but I always come back to this one.

20200413_151436

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Perfume: I purchase mine from Ulta for $75 for 1 fluid ounce. This is one of my favorite everyday scents. The scent notes are: Mandarin, Dewy Petals, Tuberose, Lily, Honeysuckle Nectar, Jasmine Sambac, Chinese Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Patchouli, Madagascan Vanilla, Amber Wood, and Musk.  This is a very sophisticated and sensual perfume. I have not repurchased it just yet because I am trying to get through some of my other scents before I start to purchase more perfume… I may repurchase it soon though just because I truly do love the scent and miss having it as part of my collection.

20200413_151424

No 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Night Cream: I purchase mine off Amazon for $25 for 1.69 fluid ounces. I have been using this night cream for the better part of 4 years now. It’s thick and emollient, and leaves my skin looking supple. I have already purchased 2 more jars and am currently working my way threw another jar. Typically this jar takes me 2 months to get through.

20200413_151407

No 7 Youthful Eye Serum: I purchase mine from Amazon for $22 for .5 fluid ounces. Again I have been using this eye serum for 4 years now. It’s light weight and fast absorbing. It’s just a really good eye serum. I’m currently working through a tube and I have a back up tube ready to go. 1 tube normally last me about 1 1/2 months to 2 months.

20200413_151357

No 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum: I purchase this on Amazon for $28 for 1 fluid ounce. This typically takes me about a month to go through… however now I have incorporated another face serum into my skin care so I use less of this product now… so I anticipate having 1 tube last me 2 months. I just opened my back up and have to repurchase a few more tubes soon.  This serum is light weight and not sticky. It just leaves my skin feeling hydrated and again I have been using it for 4 years now.

20200413_151341

Boots No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream: I purchase mine through Amazon for $22 for .5 fluid ounces. Normally 1 tube lasts 2 months. I’ve been using this for 4 eyes now. I do have a tube I’m working through and I have 1 back up ready to go … once I open that one I will repurchase 2 more. This is a great eye cream. Before I used this eye cream my lids use to be so dry and crapey and now since using this eye cream my lids are so much better. I have learned that with this eye cream you do have to be careful not to use too much at any 1 time… it will cause your delicate eye area to sting.

20200413_151647

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter: I purchased mine at Sephora for $39 for 1 fluid ounce. This bottle took me 2 years to get through. I just adore this stuff… I don’t often wear it as a primer (sometimes I do… like on my no makeup or light makeup days I will wear it alone or as a primer for my bb and cc creams) typically I use this as a dew drop mix in. I have already repurchased this but I ordered it through Beautylish so I wont have it again for about 2 weeks. There is still just a hint of product left in this bottle so I plan to use my makeup spatula to dig what’s left out until I receive the one I ordered. This product is just a stunning product. It leaves the skin looking lit from within. It’s light weight and not sticky or greasy.

20200413_151531

Profusion Beauty Good Brow Day 2 PC kit: I purchased mine off their website for $8. I truly loved the pencil but hated the brow gel. I mean truly hated the brow gel! There was nothing good about this gel at all. If they would sell the brow pencil alone I would totally repurchase this, but as it is since I do not like the gel I will not be repurchasing this product.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Empties January/February 2020

Published March 4, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

20200303_220017

My empties for the months of January and February 2020

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I have a short empties post for you tonight (it’s currently 11:40 pm here) So let’s jump into it…

20200303_224634

The only thing I use to cleanse my face in the morning and to take off my makeup at night. I purchase the 3 pack off the Beautylish website for $44.70 and typically go through 1 bottle a month.

20200303_224742

My favorite facial cotton. Doesn’t shed or tear. Is super soft. I purchase these at Ulta and Sephora for $12 for the 165 pack….. *Side Note* I have ordered 2 packs of reusable bamboo facial disks so I may not be repurchasing these in the future… It’s better for the environment and saves me heaps of money.

20200303_224803

I really enjoyed this setting spray. I purchase it at Ulta for $8.50 for 2.02 fluid ounces and have purchased a replacement for this empty.

20200303_224813

It took me forever to use this up. I just didn’t really care for it as much as I do with some of my drug store setting sprays. I purchased mine through MAC for $28 for 3.04 fluid ounces. I will not be repurchasing this one as I have so many backup setting sprays and I truly didn’t see what the hype was about for this one.

20200303_224849

I purchase this at Sephora for $45 for 1 fluid ounce. It was a nice primer, very hydrating. I really didn’t notice a Coconut scent, even though they bill this as having  five types of coconut in it. I may repurchase this at some point, I’m just in no hurry to purchase it right now.

20200303_224858

As always (I have done a full review of my skin care) I purchase this through Amazon for $16 for .5 fluid ounces. This is the only eye cream I have ever used for 2 years now. I have purchased a replacement for this one and will be purchasing a back up coming next week.

20200303_224904

As always (I have done a full review of my skin care) I purchase this through Amazon for $16 for .5 fluid ounces. This is the only eye serum I have ever used for 2 years now. I have purchased a replacement for this one and will be purchasing a back up coming next week.

20200303_230320

I purchased this at Ulta for $8.99 for .003 ounces of product. This is a perfect brow pencil and I have purchased a replacement and have plans to purchase a back up next week.

Well that’s it dolls… told ya it was a short empties post … stay tuned for my makeup haul and I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember …. save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Let’s Talk Trash… Dec 2019 and Jan 2020

Published February 15, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

20200215_215228

Hey doll hey!!! How you doing? Great I hope. So I held on to my empties to share with you. I didn’t use up a ton of stuff in the last 2 months so this should be a short post….Let’s get started …..

20200215_215218

Bioderma 500 ML bottles. I purchase them on the Beautylish website for $14.90 a bottle, but I purchase them in the 3 pack for $44.70.

This is my all time favorite Micelle Solution. I use it to cleanse my face and to take off makeup and also to clean up fallout and mistakes whilst doing my makeup. It’s gentle on the skin, has no scent, and gets all the makeup off in 1 go. I have already purchased another 3 bottles.

20200215_215203

Shiseido Facial Cotton 165 sheet packs. I purchase them through Sephora’s website for $12 a pack.

This is my favorite cotton to use on my face. I’ve already done a review on this item, you can read that review here , I normally go through a pack a month. I have already repurchased 3 packs.

My skin care products that I’ve used up for Dec and Jan. You can read about my skin care routine here . I typically go through 1 tube of eye cream and eye serum each month the other products in my skin care routine typically takes me 2 1/2 months to go through.

BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter. I get this pencil on the BH Cosmetics website for $5 a pencil.

I have tried several brow highlighters over the years, and I always come back to this one. Not only is it inexpensive, it is the creamiest brow pencil I have ever tried. It typically takes me around 2 1/2 months to go through 1 pencil. I have repurchased this pencil currently have 4 back ups.

Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil in the shade 4.5, I get this pencil at Ulta for $24, however you can also purchase it through Sephora or the Benefit website for the same price.

I always thought this pencil and this brand was uppity. I never wanted to try it because it just seemed too high brow (no pun intended). I then decided one day to do a full face of Benefit Cosmetics products and fell instantly in love with this pencil!! In fact I fell in love with several things in there line. I have repurchased this pencil and have ordered a back up today.

I purchased both these setting sprays at Ulta … the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray was  $9.99 and the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray was $8.50.

I had decided to test out a bunch of setting sprays ever since I ran out of my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($33 at Ulta, however you can purchase a 2 pack at Ulta for $42 making each bottle $21). I tested the Milani one in December and the NYX one in January. I liked them both about the same, however when I went to reorder setting sprays, the Milani one was out of stock. I did, however, repurchase the NYX one… I am currently using it this month, and I have a back up of it. I have 9 setting sprays in my backup crate so I don’t need setting spray for a while. I will however repurchase the Milani one as soon as I have gone through more of my backups.

Burberry Brit Perfume. I purchased this at Ulta for $85.

This is such an amazing scent! I get compliments every time I wear this perfume. The top notes of this perfume are  pear, lime and lemongrass. The mid notes are almond and peony and the scent is rounded out with the bottom notes of vanilla, amber, and tonka bean. This is the type of scent that lingers and stays around all day. I can put this perfume on at 7 in the morning and I can still smell it at 9 at night. I have so much perfume that I try not to purchase any more…. however, this scent is so nice that I had to replace it. I have repurchased this perfume.

Well, that’s all for now dolls. Stay tuned for a nice sized makeup haul coming up next.

I hope you are having a good day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

December Empties

Published January 16, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey. Let’s talk trash. I saved my empties last month to show you what I used up for the month. I’ll give a small review and tell you if I would repurchase the items again or not… so let’s jump into it…..

20200116_172414

Bioderma Micelle Solution ($14.90 on the Beautylish website for 16.7 fluid ounces): A+++ This product is billed as a French skincare brand whose products are known for being highly effective but gentle enough to use on even the most sensitive skin. I use this everyday twice a day. 1 Bottle normally lasts me about a month 1/2. I use it to remove my makeup and then to cleanse my face daily. I use it in the morning to cleanse my face of my moisturizers and prep my skin for makeup application. I’ve been using it for about 2 years and my skin has never looked better. I always have 2 bottles as back ups just in case I run out a bit faster than I typically do.

Marc Joacobs Daisy Dream Kiss ($54.97 at Nordstorm Rack and on the PerfumeNet website): A+++!!!!                                                                                                                            This perfume’s top notes are Pineapple, Blackcurrant, and Grapefruit. It’s middle notes are Rhubarb, White Freesia, and Jasmine, and it’s bottom notes are Cedar wood, Musk, and Ambrox.  I loved this perfume so much that I went out and purchased the full Daisy line. I have so much perfume that it took me almost a year 1/2 to finish this bottle and even though I have so much perfume I repurchased it. I wore it everyday in the month of December. It’s a very playful scent that is perfect for any occasion.

20200116_172519

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($33 for 4 fluid ounces at Ulta and Sephora): A+++ This is billed as being a patented Temperature Control Technology, this weightless setting and finishing mist actually lowers the temperature of your makeup and delivers up to 16 hours of fade-proof, flawless makeup. This was the first setting spray I ever purchased and I keep coming back to it. Out of all the setting sprays that I own this is my favorite one. I have already repurchased this one and also purchased a back up because I went 3 2 weeks already without it. It just melts all the powders into your skin so perfectly and it truly makes your makeup last all day.

20200116_172531

Shiseido Facial Cotton ($12 for 165 sheets): A+++!!!! This is the only cotton product I use on my face. I love it so much that I already did a dedicated review to it…. you can read that here ->Shiseido Cotton Review  . I feel like this bag lasts for such a long time. I have already repurchased and have a few back ups so I never run out.

20200116_172600

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara ($23 for .24 fluid ounces at Ulta): C+                              This mascara is billed as being a jet-black, vegan mascara that comes with a molded brush that grabs & coats even the tiniest lashes and has a patented silicone wand with multi-length bristles coat every lash for a longer & thicker look with one stroke. Intense patent black pigments make it easy to get a pro-look with one stroke. Triple-black mineral pigments & more good-for-you ingredients strengthen, condition & give high-impact volume & definition. I don’t know, it was just an OK mascara for me. Sometimes my lashes looked great other times they were clumpy and flaky and other times they were short and stubby. I just used this mascara so that I wouldn’t waste the money but I truly wanted to just chuck it in the bin… I will never repurchase this one.

No 7 Youthful Eye Serum ($16.90 for .5 fluid ounces and I get it on Amazon but you can find it at Ulta): A+++!!!                                                                                                                    This is a very nice eye serum that sinks into the delicate area of the eyes so fast and just leaves the eyes feeling refreshed and hydrated. I use it twice a day (morning and night). It soothes my under eyes after taking off my makeup. This serum isn’t too heavy and really preps the eyes for eye cream. I find that I go through a tube a month. You only need a pea sized amount. I have repurchased this serum.

20200116_180446

No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum ($29.99 for 1 fluid ounce I get it on Amazon but you can find it at Ulta): A+++!!!                                                                                   I use it twice a day every day. Ever since I started using this serum my skin has had a very healthy glow to it. It sinks into the face quickly and leaves the face feeling velvety smooth. I have already repurchased this one and can’t live without it.

20200116_180452

No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream ($21.99 for .5 fluid ounces and I get it from Amazon but you can get it at Ulta): A++                                                                                 I haven’t noticed any smoothing of my fine lines but I have noticed that my normally dry eye area is more supple since using this product. I noticed that my eyeshadow goes on so much easier and less patchy since starting to use this eye cream. I use it twice a day every day and have already repurchased it.

Well that’s all dolls…. see ya tomorrow when I review some more products from Shop Miss A. Until then remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
