Soft Focus Halo Eye Face of the Day

Published May 15, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Mine is going OK. I woke up early and my pain level is holding in the middle and my energy is pretty good today. My lower back hurts a heap because I was standing for a long time (I was tie dying a few new outfits).

Today I am not wearing any perfume because I woke with a headache. Let’s jump into today’s soft focus halo eye.

Base:

I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ($37 at Sephora) in Smoothing. I then went in with the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Light Medium. My foundation today is NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation ($49 at Sephora) in the shade Light 5 Fiji.  I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and on the Charlotte Tilbury website) in the shade Medium Dark to contour the perimeter of my face and down the bridge of my nose. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Glowgasm Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website, The Charlotte Tilbury website and at Sehora) in the shade Goldgasm and then I went in with just a touch of Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie to set the high points of my face. I concealed my under eyes using L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Concealer (9.99 at Ulta) in the shade 01 Classic Ivory. I warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 on the Tarte website) in the shade Grace Bay (deep matte bronze). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then topped off  the perimeter of my face using a light layer of MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. I chose the Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil ($9.50 on their website) in the shade Brunette. I carved out the brow line using BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and then I set the brow line using the shade  Matt Malloy (pure white matte) from the Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette (discontiuned, was limited edtion). For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette ($20 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website). I went into the 2nd shade of the 2nd row (warm toned deep brown matte) and started on the outer 1/3 of the full eye lid I took this shade on a huge fluffy blender brush and buffed it from lash straight up to the brow line and then did the same thing on the inner 1/3 of the full lid and then with what ever was left on the brush I connected the inner and outer 1/3 of the lids at the brow line. I then went into the 4th shade of the 1st row (mid-toned copper metallic) and patted that over the full middle 1/3 of the lids from lash to just under the brow line (leaving a small amount of the first shade open). I then took a tiny fluffy blender brush and buffed the delineation lines between the inner 1/3 and middle 1/3 and middle 1/3 and outer 1/3 to leave the halo soft focused. I then dusted more of the warm deep brown shade onto my lower lash line and then I highlighted my inner corners with Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (pink champagne with silver reflects).I created a mid-sized wing using Joah I’m So Fly Brush Tip Eyeliner ($8.50 on their website) in black. I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic. I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black and then popped on a set of Kiss Looks So Natural Lash ($11.99 for a 5 pack at Ulta) in the style Shy.

Cheeks and Lips:

I applied my blush with the rest of my cream products since I was using ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the shade Birthday Suit (neutral pink) I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink  (terracotta rose) and then used NARS Lip Gloss ($24 at Sephora) in the shade Dolce Vita (sheer dusty rose).

Final Thoughts:

My ColourPop Mulan collection should arrive tomorrow!!!

The lashes I purchased from a shop on ETSY says that I should receive them tomorrow as well.

My Juvia’s Place order that I placed on their website also says that I should receive their package tomorrow as well!!

I also am excited that I tried my hand at tie dying! My first outfit is in the wash now and the 2nd outfit I made is cooling down so that I can rinse it out and then wash it. I’ll do a post on it if not later tonight then tomorrow.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette ($20 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website) and 3 shadow’s from The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Ador and Meet Matt(e) Nude palettes (both palettes are discontinued … they were limited edition). I started with the Nubian 3 palette and went into the 2nd shade of the 3rd row (dusty light grey matte) and buffed that all over the lids (from lash line to brow line). I then went into the 2nd shade of the 1st row (deep slate grey matte) and buffed that into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then went into the Meet Matt(e) Ador Palette and used the shade Matt Soto (a dusty black matte) and buffed that in 1/2 through the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and 1/2 way through the outer v of the crease. I then went back to the Nubian 3 palette and patted the 3rd shade of the 1st row (slate grey metallic) over the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then went into the 1st shade of the 1st row (light toned silver metallic) and patted that over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then went back into the Meet Matt(e) Ador and the shade Matt Lee (deep black matte) and deepened the very outer part of the mobile lid and the outer v. I then went into the Matt(e) Nude palette and set the brow line using the shade Matt Malloy (pure white matte). For the lower lash line I buffed more of the deep slate grey shade on closest to the lash line, and then buffed that out with more of the dusty light grey. I then used more of Matt Lee to deepen the bottom lash line. I highlighted my inner corners with Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (pink champagne with silver reflects). I tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using Flower Beauty Forever Wear Long-Wear Eyeliner ($7.99 at Ulta) in the shade Onyx. Final Thoughts:

I love that with this Nubian 3 palette I can go from light and airy summer vibes to a smokey night on the town look. This palette is just stunning.

I haven’t worn lashes in so long that my lash line feels super heavy, but I thought that this look called for a bit more drama than my natural lashes could handle.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and great health.

For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette ($20 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website) and 2 shades from the Juvia’s Place The Nudes by Juvia palette ($14 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website). I started with the Nudes palette and went into the 1st shade of the 2nd row (light rose matte) and ran that all through my crease all the way to the brow line. I then went into the Nubian 3 palette and took the 4th shade of the 2nd row (dusty coral tan matte) and ran that through the crease and stopped just a little lower than the brow line. I then took the 4th shade of the 3rd row (deep-toned peachy coral matte) and buffed that into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then went into the 3rd shade of the 3rd row (peachy coral metallic with a slight gold flip metallic) and patted that on the remain 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then went into the 1st shade of the 2nd row (a mid-toned deep reddish terracotta metallic) and patted that over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the inner and outer 1/3’s together. I then went into the 2nd shade of the 2nd row (warm toned deep brown matte) and buffed that into the very outer part of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the very outer part of the outer v of the crease to just add a hint of definition. I created a subtle drop shadow on the lower lash line starting with more of the dusty coral tan shade and then deepened the lash line using more of the deep-toned peachy coral shade. I then used the light rose shade from the Nudes palette to buff the harsh lines away. To highlight my inner corners I used the 1st shade of the 1st row of the Nudes palettes (peachy champagne with a slight silver flip metallic). To highlight the brow line I used the L’Oreal 24-HR Infallible Eyeshadow ($9.49 at CVS and on Amazon) in the shade #899 Endless Pearl (vanilla matte). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic) and created medium sized wing along the upper lash line using ColourPop Creme Gel Colour ($7 on their website) in the shade Swerve (jet black). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black.

Final Thoughts:

I really love that I have a beauty fridge!! It’s so tiny and keeps my skin care super cool. This means there is longevity in the active ingredients and there’s the added anti-inflammatory benefit since the products are cold.

I am going to do another post tonight. I’m making Bacalao Guisido (Stewed Salted Cod) for supper and it’s one of my hubby’s favorite dishes.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

4th Beauty Haul of May 2020 and Swatches

Published May 13, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

unnamed

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m coming to you with another beauty haul …. this one is just 2 items but I feel like if I don’t haul my items at the time that I receive them I will forget to haul them. So let’s get started…..

* Note that all swatches are done on bare skin with no primer and in 1 swipe *

Flawless Beauty Fridge by Finishing Touch $60 at Ulta and Amazon , I purchased mine through Amazon. I really wanted the Facetory Coral Beauty Fridge but I didn’t want to pay the extra $40 for it so I settled for this one. It’s super cute, very compact, and gets super cold. It’s too small to fit 1 of my skin care items (my essence) but fits all of my serums, my toner, and all of my creams. It is super quiet and doesn’t pull too much on the electric.

Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette $20 at Ulta and the Juvia’s Place website .                         This is such a beautiful palette! I love a good coral shade and Juvia’s Place has done coral right. There are no shade names in the palette.

The photo on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. The shades are : a light toned silver metallic, a deep slate grey matte, a slate grey metallic, a mid-toned copper metallic….

The photo on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. The shades are :  a mid-toned deep reddish terracotta metallic, a warm toned deep brown matte, deep brown with a slight green shift metallic, dusty coral tan matte….

The photo on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. The shades are : cool toned coral matte/satin hybrid, dusty light grey matte, peachy coral metallic with a slight gold flip metallic, and finally a deep-toned peachy coral matte.

I used this palette for today’s eye look and I must say the formula is to die for. The matte shadows are finely milled but pressed hard in the pans so there was no kick back at all. The metallic shadows are buttery and creamy and there was no kick back in the pans for these either. The shadows did not skin or go patchy over my sticky primer and they shadows buffed into one another with out going muddy. There was no fall out on the face with either the mattes or the metallics either. This palette is truly a beautiful palette for the summer months.

I accidentally purchased this palette on Juvia’s Place website as well so I will be gifting that extra palette to my God Daughter when I receive it.

Well, that’s all for now dolls. Thanks for stopping by… Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
