Rusty Eyed Face of the Day

Published April 2, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I’m having a bad Fibro day today…. very high pain level. I received my purchase from Joah Cosmetics today! So I thought I’d put the products I purchased to the test today …. I’ll give my review of them in Final Thoughts. Today I am wearing Modern Muse by Estee Lauder. *** SIDE NOTE *** the Joah Setting Powder that I used is causing a white cast in the pictures, it’s a translucent powder but it’s casting very pale on my skin…So let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

20200402_181336

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using L’Oreal Infallible Glow-Lock Illuminating Primer ($12.99 at Ulta) and then used a bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Sephora) to blur my pores. For foundation today I used Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Natural Finish Foundation Drop ($6.65 on their website) in the shade Natural Ivory (this shade is just about 1/2 a shade too light for me). I color corrected my under eyes using Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Dark Circle Concealer ($8.50 on their website) in the shade Neutralizer. I used 4 dots of Joah Cosmetics  Wand Me Up Concealer ($6.50 on their website) in the shade Ivory. I set my full face using Joah Cosmetics Selfie Ready Setting Powder ($9.50 on their website) in the shade Translucent and then warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. For touch up powder today I am using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade transparent.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette (normally $48 but on sale for $36 at Sephora). For my transition shade I used the color Samael (dusty fawn matte). To deepen the crease and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid I used a combo of the shades Ludwin (peachy bronze matte) and Succubus (rich rust matte). On the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used a few layers of the shade Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) from the Rachh Loves X Pixi The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target). On the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Samael (dusty fawn matte). I then went in close to the lash line and used the more of the shade Succubus (rich rust matte). I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Clutch (soft white yellow gold) from the Rachh Loves X Pixi The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target). I lined my water lines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic). I created a winged eyeliner using Joah Cosmetics I’m So Fly-liner ($5.99 on their website) in the shade Black.  I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Cosmetics Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil ($6.65 on their website) in the shade Black Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte sides and set the brow line using the shade Liberatus (pinkish ivory matte). I popped on a paid of Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($11.99 for a 2 pack at Ulta) in the style Flirty and then I coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush tonight I chose NYX Sweet Cheeks Matte Blush ($7.50 at Ulta) in the shade Summer Breeze (Coral).  I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) and using a combo of the shades Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) and the shade Clutch (soft white yellow gold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Little One (light pinky nude) and topped off my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Dream Date (pale warm nude matte). I then added a tiny bit of the shade Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) from the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target)  to the lipstick to give it a bit more dimension.

Final Thoughts:

Joah is a K-Beauty inspired makeup company who’s parent company is Kiss. You can also find Joah Cosmetics at CVS and on the CVS website.

Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Natural Finish Foundation Drop: A                                         This foundation retails for $9.50 but is currently on sale for $6.65 on their website. You get 1.01 fluid ounces of product and it’s offered in 12 shade with 4 for deeper skin. It’s billed as being a skin enhancing natural finish foundation perfects your complexion in every way…hydrating, brightening, smoothing, accentuating your youthful glow with a flawless finish. This is a super thin liquid foundation (almost serum like). It has a demi-matte finish and is a light medium coverage. I didn’t try to build it up because I purchased a shade that was just a hair lighter than I am and didn’t want to look to pasty. I didn’t try it with a mixed in glow drops because I wanted to see what type of finish it gave first and I didn’t try it with my foundation mixer to deepen the shade because I thought since it wasn’t too far off from  my natural color I would be OK… Well it did make me look pale so tomorrow I will try it again with my foundation mixer to deepen the color a bit and then I will try it on Saturday with glow drops to see if it accepts mix ins well. For right now what I can say is … #1 there is no scent to this foundation at all. #2 It’s a light medium demi-matte coverage foundation. #3 It does hold up to about an 8 hour wear… I touched my nose a lot today because it’s still running and I didn’t notice any wear away from doing that. #4 This foundation does well with emollient moisturizers and #5 A little of this product goes a long way. I used 2 full droppers of the foundation and still had some left over (even after carving out the top side of my brows). So far it’s a pretty nice foundation. Very light weight, I could barely tell I was wearing it (that was until I set my face) and very natural looking (again until I set my face). I liked it enough that I want to give it a try with my mix ins to see how that does … if it doesn’t work than I will repurchase this in the correct shade … I liked it enough that I do really want it part of my collection.

Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Dark Circle Concealer: B-                                                            This concealer comes in 11 shades with 1 for medium deep skin tones. 2 of those shades are corrector shades (1 neutralizer and 1 brightener). This concealer retails for $8.50 and you get .24 fluid ounces of product in a tube with a sponge tip applicator. I never you the sponge tip on concealer products, I just don’t like them, so I immediately pulled the sponge tip off. This concealer is billed as being a lightweight and oil control formula instantly erases dark circles and fine lines.  I think I might have purchased the wrong corrector … I purchased the neutralizer shade …. I think I may prefer the brightening shade and will be purchasing that one on my next beauty buy week…. it was OK at helping with the darkness around my mouth area but I just needed a bit more brightness than this shade had to offer for my under eye. It’s a thin formula but does a good job and concealing. It does sink into the fine lines so the claim that it erases fine lines is a bust. It’s just an OK concealer in my opinion … I will have to see if I like it more once I buy the brighten shade.

Joah Cosmetics Wand Me Up Concealer: A-                                                                          This concealer only comes in 5 shades and none are for deeper skin. It retails for $6.50 and there is nothing on the website or packaging that says how much product you get, whoever it’s the same size as the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It’s billed as being a natural coverage wand concealer hides imperfections and leaves skin looking flawless. This is a pretty good concealer. It’s really creamy and doesn’t set down so you do need to set this one to keep it from creasing and you need to do this where ever you use this concealer… I added a tough of this concealer to my forehead and it creased in between my brow area and I normally do not have this issue with any other concealer. Once I blended it back out and set it with powder it was fine the rest of the day. I liked it enough that I will use this one up … but it’s too early for me to know if I will repurchase it or not.

Joah Cosmetics Selfie Ready Setting Powder: F !!                                                                     This setting powder retails for $9.50 and you get .35 ounces of product in a slide to close sifter jar. It comes in 3 shades …. translucent, banana, and peach. It’s billed as being a lightweight translucent powder that sets your makeup perfectly with an all-day natural matte finish. #1 There was nothing “NATRUAL” about this powder …. it left my face dusty and cakey, and so dry looking that I actually looked like I had crapey skin. #2 This powder has heaps of dust up. No matter how light of a hand you go in with there is powder every where. #3 There is a weird scent to this powder … almost like school chalk. #4  There is bright flash back/ white cast with this powder. I have the translucent shade and it’s a chalk white powder that just seemed to make my skin look paler than I started with, and #5 It looks terrible under the eyes…. my fine lines stood out so bad today that you can actually seem them in my pictures… normally you can not see my fine lines.  …. this one was just a hard pass for me….

Joah Cosmetics I’m So Fly-liner: A+++!!!                                                                                      This brush tip liquid liner retails for $8.50 but is currently on sale for $5.95. You get .5 fluid ounces of product. It’s billed as being having a flexible brush tip for precise application and as being buildable, highly pigmented, long lasting, and water resistant. For me out of all the products I tried from Joah Cosmetics today this was the stand out winner for me. It’s super black, went over my shadow perfectly without tugging or skipping. This brush tip is the closest drug store dupe for the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I will be purchasing a few more on my next beauty buy week.

Joah Cosmetics Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil: A++ This brow pencil retails for $9.50 but is currently on sale for $6.65. You get .002 ounces of product in this double ended mechanical pencil (1 end is a really nice spoolie and the other end is a perfect pointed brow pencil). It is billed as being like a magic trick for brows and as having an  ultra fine tip that creates fine hair-like strokes. When I first tested this pencil on the back of the hand I just knew I was going to hate this product. It felt waxy and hard and tugged at the delicate skin on the back of my hand. MAN WAS I WRONG! It was super pigmented and creamy and did not tug on my brows at all. It was super easy to use and dare I say this pencil is my new favorite drug store brow pencil …. it is really super good. I will be purchasing a few back ups on my next beauty buy week.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your night/day and that you are in both good health and spirits. Remember dolls … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Making Mauves Palette Face of the Day

Published March 20, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How are you doing today? Great I hope. I called my Doctor today to get the results of my Covid-19 testing …. was told that the testing centers in Orlando are on backlog for 7 to 10 days!!! So frustrated! That’s potentially 10 more days of quarantine for me. I feel like crap still and couldn’t get out of bed until around 9:30 AM… but just as I was making my morning coffee I got the delivery for my new ColourPop Making Mauves palette and blushes so that perked my spirits up a bit. Well, let’s jump into this scent and Face of the Day ….

Screenshot_20200320-160902_Chrome

Calvin Klein Euphoria. I purchased mine at Sephora for $80 for 1.7 fluid ounces. The scent notes are: Pomegranate, Persimmon, Green Notes, Black Orchid, Lotus Blossom, Champaca Flower, Liquid Amber, Mahogany Wood, Black Violet, Cream Accord, Rose Hips, Japanese Apple, and Red Wood. I think I like this one more than I like the Deep Euphoria scent. It’s a clean crisp scent that is good for everyday wear. This is a causal clothes type of scent. It’s not the longest lasting scent but it does linger for a good while.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Believe Beauty Pretty and Primed Hydrating Primer ($5 at Dollar General). I then used Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) to fill in the pores on my cheeks and sides of the nose. My foundation today is a combo of 1 squeeze of Pixi by Petra Flawless Beauty Primer Hydrating Glow Primer ($22 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) and 3 pumps of Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done (Discontinued) in the shade Medium Light.  I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used 5 dots for each under eye of ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Concealer ($9 on their website and at Ulta) in the shade Medium 83C. I set my full face using  Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent and warmed up my face using Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($30 at Ulta). For touch up powder today I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Target) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base because I have noticed a lot of YouTubers do not set this particular base when doing their makeup. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Making Mauves Eye shadow Palette ($14 on their website). For my first transition shade I used the color Big Mauves (soft lilac matte). As my second transition shade I used the color Solitaire (soft mauve matte). I used the shade Big Fig (mid-tone dusty lavender matte) to deepen my crease and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. On the inner 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade A La Mode (true mauve with pinpoints of silver and copper pearl ultra metallic). I deepened my outer v with the shade Marquee (muted plum matte) and then went in with the shade Mauve On Top (icy rose metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. For the lower lash line I first went in with the shade Solitaire (soft mauve matte) and then went in with the shade Marquee (muted plum matte) to deepen the lash line. I then buffed the whole under eye out using the shade Tongue Tied (mauve with pinpoints of silver and violet pearl sequin).  I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade HoneyDude (a nude). I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Eye Shadow ($9.99 on their website) in the shade 899 Endless Pearl (a creamy vanilla matte).I popped on a pair of House of Lashes Falsies ($12 on their website) in the style Iconic and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

20200320_161412

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I used the ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush ($8 on their website) in the shade Catch My Vibe (pale baby pink matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Cookie (a pale yellow champagne with a slight silver reflect). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Obvi (a light pinkish brown) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Byron Babe (a deep rose matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                           ColourPop Making Mauves Palette: A+++                                                                                 This palette is just so pretty! Each mauve has a subtle difference between them that lends to a really pretty monochromatic look. These shadows are finely milled and really pigmented. There is some kickback in the pans but zero fallout on the face. Even over a sticky base these shadows blended out beautifully. Each shade buffs into each other seamlessly and without getting patchy or muddy and they did not skip. The only thing I could see making this palette a bit better would be a pale mauve or a pale pink that was a bit more creamy in color for the brow bone… but even without this shade the palette is amazing.

ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush in Catch My Vibe: A+++                                                    This blush is stunning! There was no kickback in the pan. The blush buffs into the skin wonderfully and did not skip or go patchy. It’s worth noting that this matte blush also did not look chalky on the cheeks. Even though there was no shimmer or sheen to the blush there is still a really pretty glow to the skin. I’m glad I purchased both shades in this collection.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good heath and great spirits. Remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Smokey Halo Eye Face of the Day

Published March 15, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day going? I still am feeling sick. Last night was not fun. I threw up 2 times last night, once while I was sleeping and then spent 15 minutes recuperating from the fact that I was choking on vomit, and once after that while I was trying to get back to sleep. My fever has broken so I am feeling a bit better than I have for the past few days. I felt like doing a dark smokey look to hide the darkness to my eyes because of being sick. So let’s jump into this scent and Face of the Day….

375x500.1894

Giorgio Beverly Hills Wings. I purchased mine off Amazon for $18 for 3 fluid ounces. I chose this scent today because it’s not too over powering and my belly is still sour. The top notes of this scent are: Lavender, Green Notes, Neroli, Bergamont and Lemon. The middle notes are: Coriander, Clary Sage, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-Valley, Geranium. The scent is rounded out with base notes of: Tonka Bean, Amber, Musk, Oak-moss, and Cedar. This is a very floral scent that pairs well with casual and dressier looks. With this scent you need to be careful not to over do it…. a very little goes an extremely long way. This scent also lasts a very long time on the skin.

20200315_154530

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Poreless Blur Primer ().My foundation today is a combo of 2 pumps Catrice Cosmetics Light Correcting Serum Primer ($10.99 at Ulta) in the shade Candlelight, 3 pumps of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($14.39 at Walgreens) in the shade Glow, and 4 pumps of Pixi by Petra Beauty Balm High Coverage Foundation ($22.49 at Target) in the shade No. 2 Nude. I color corrected my full under eyes (man do i look ruff this morning, very dark circles) using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. I concealed my under eyes using Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer (I believe this concealer had been discontinued) in the shade Light/Medium.  I set my full face using  Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent and warmed up my face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. For touch up powder today I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Target) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website) For today’s eye look I used the the Profusion Cosmetics Eye & Cheek The Artistry Palette ($10 on their website). For my transition shade I used a combo of the shades Love (yellow toned tan matte) and Honest (mid toned peach matte). For my outer 1/3 and inner 1/3 of my mobile lid and my crease I used a combo of the shades Embrace (a mauvey brown matte) and Comeback (a chocolate brown matte). I then took the shade Cookie (a mid toned terracotta matte) and patted that on the middle of the inner and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid to give the halo a bit more depth. I then also used this shade to blend the crease and transition together. on the middle 1/3 of my mobile lid I first went in with the shade Mic Drop (a copper with gold reflect metallic) and then I went in with the shade Antique (a yellow gold metallic) over the center part of the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta and on the ELF website) in the shade Deep Brown and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Whipped (a vanilla matte). For my lower lash line I used more of the shade Cookie, creating a drop shadow, and then deepened the lash line using more of the shade Comeback. I highlighted the inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (icy pink with silver and lavender reflect).  I lined my lower waterlines using  Charlotte Tilbury  Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade The Classic (a mid toned brown). I popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style KoKo and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

20200315_154758

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I am wearing Burt’s Bees Blush ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade 1205 Bare Peach.  I highlighted the tops of mu cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, bridge of the nose, the center of my chin, and high points of my brows using the shade Diamonds (a bronze gold with rose gold reflect) from the same Profusion Cosmetics Eye & Cheek The Artistry Palette. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Obvi (Light pinkish brown) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip (discontinued) in the shade Gingham (peachy pink nude).

20200315_154736

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                           Things in the world are so crazy right now. I’ve chosen to practice social distancing because since I have a weakened immune system, do to the Fibromyalgia, I’m afraid (like so many of us) to get this illness. Shopping for food has been tough, there is barely anything on the shelves, the meat cases are bare, the dairy cases are bare…. It’s so surreal.

I panicked when I first started to get sick…. I thought could this be it??? But I’m starting to feel better and my fever has gone so I am not panicked anymore. However, if I’m still feeling sick tomorrow I will call my doctor to see what I should be doing.

I want you all to please be safe and please exercise caution.

With there being a shortage of hand sanitizer  and antibacterial wipes I thought I would give you the site of the homemade hand sanitizer I use. You can read how to make the hand sanitizer here and the wipes here .

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you all are staying safe during this troubling time we are having. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Quick and Simple Face of the Day

Published March 14, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? I hope it’s going great and that you are in good health and spirits. I woke up a bit late today. I got up around 8:30 AM. Tried to sleep in as long as I could because I’m still feeling sick. I think I might have caught the Flu. But at least my fever is gone now. Since I’m still feeling sick I decided to go with one of my everyday go to looks… just quick and simple. So let’s jump into today’s scent and Face of the Day ….

120777

Today I’m wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures. I needed a scent that was not to over powering or heavy since I’m feeling sick today. I purchased mine at a Macy’s perfume counter for $90 for 3.4 fluid ounces.  The top notes are: White Lily, Violet Leaves, and Green Accents. The middle notes are: Black Lilac, White Peony, Karo-Karounde Blossoms, Baie Rose, Pink Rose, and Jasmine. The scent is rounded out with base notes of: Sandalwood and Patchouli.
Here we go again…. there is Patchouli in this fragrance and yet I freaking love this perfume…. I’m beginning to think it’s not Patchouli that I don’t like… or perhaps it’s where in the scent makeup that Patchouli lands that makes a difference…. all I know is that I love this perfume. This is a sheer flowery scent. Very feminine and very crisp.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Poreless Blur Primer (). My foundation today is a combo of 2 pumps Catrice Cosmetics Light Correcting Serum Primer ($10.99 at Ulta) in the shade Candlelight, 3 pumps of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($14.39 at Walgreens) in the shade Glow, and 4 pumps of Too Faced Born This Way Undetectable Medium to Full Coverage Foundation ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Warm Nude. I color corrected the inner and outer parts of my under eyes using  Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in Brightening Peach. I over contoured my nose so I had to bake the sided of my nose to slim it out a bit… I used RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish Website).

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website) For today’s eye look I used the the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette ($48 on her website). For my transition shade I used the color Soothe Matte (a camel). On the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the outer v I used the shade Ritual Matte (a rich chocolate). On the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Soothe Metallic (a warm champagne gold) and then I layered the middle 1/3 with the shade Story Metallic (a  bright nectarine with gold reflect) to blend the inner and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta and on the ELF website) in the shade Deep Brown and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Aura Matte (a vanilla). For my lower lash line I kept it simple and just buffed on a small amount of Soothe Matte. I lined my lower waterlines using L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner ($8.99 at Ulta) in the shade Nude. I popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style KoKo and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).  I then highlighted the inner corners using the shade Aura Metallic (a champagne) and topped it with the Glow shade from the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I am wearing Burt’s Bees Blush ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade 1205 Bare Peach.  I highlighted the tops of mu cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, bridge of the nose, and high points of my brows using the Glow shade from the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora).  I then used the Soft Focus powder from the same palette to blur the skin a bit and buff all my products in together. I lined my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Bumble (a warm rose) and filled in the lips using MAC Lipstick ($19 at Ulta and MAC) in the shade Kinda Sexy (a neutral pinky rose).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I am really sad that they have discontinued the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer. This concealer looks amazing under the eyes. It give this radiant (as the name implies) glow to the under eyes. It does crease a bit so I do notice that I have to set my under eyes… pat the area and then add a bit more powder to keep it from creasing further. But I truly love this concealer so much.

This is the first time I have tried the KoKo lashes in the style KoKo. They are pretty. I did have to snip just the very outer part of the lashes to get them to fit but that’s normal for me to have to do. They did need to be modeled to cleaning stick to my lash line but once they were on they felt light and comfortable. Iwould totally repurchase these lashes.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and good spirits. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Taupe Look Face of the Day

Published March 11, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day going? Great I hope. I’m doing pretty good today. Moderate pain levels, some energy, and I woke up around 7:30 am after having a great night’s sleep. I wanted to do a soft and simple eye look today… I chose taupe because I was going to wear this super cute top I just got but I spilled foundation on it and it’s currently sitting in some Oxi-Clean to see if that will get it out….. Well, let’s jump into this Fave of the Day and current scent….

255918

Katy Perry Royal Revolution. I purchased mine from fragrancenet.com for $59 for 3.4 fluid ounces. The notes are at the top: Pink freesia, black thorn, pomegranate, in the middle notes you get: orange flower, sandalwood, jasmine petals, and the scent is rounded out with: soft leather, skin musk and vanilla orchid. My baby sister turned me on to this scent. I used her’s when I went up north to visit her a few summers ago and I just loved how fun it smelled. It has a sweet scent, but it’s not overly sickly sweet. It’s a great causal scent.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer (Discontinued). For foundation I am using a combo of 7 pumps of Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($13.99 on Amazon also sold at Walmart) in the shade Glow and 2 full squeezes of L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation ($12.99 at Ulta) in the shade 202 Creamy Natural. I color corrected the inner and outer area of my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. I concealed my under eyes using Physicians Formula Conceal RX ($6.90 on Amazon but also sold at Walmart) in the shade Natural Light. I set the full face using Too Face Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up the face using ColourPop Pressed Bronzer ($8 on their website) in the shade Talk to the Palm.

Eyes: I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website) For today’s eye look I used the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette (Discontinued). For my transition shade I used the color Mousse (medium brown with warm undertones matte). On my mobile lid I used the shade Rum Raisin (muted, medium-dark taupe brown with warm undertones metallic) for the full lid. I deepened the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v using the shade Puddin’ (muted, medium-dark brown with a hint of gray matte). I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta and on the ELF website) in the shade Deep Brown and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Coconut Creme (a light beige with warm, yellow tones matte). For my lower lash line I used the shade Mousse again and then I used more of the shade Puddin’ to darken the lash line. I popped on a pair of Ardell lashes ($4 at Ulta) in a style I can’t remember … I just remember that these are Ardell lashes. I lined the lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only found in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault on their website) in the shade ALT (blackened teal) and coated my upper and lower lashes with MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Black. I then highlighted the inner corners using Urban Decay Single Eye Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (an icy pink with silver reflect).

20200311_124353

Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I used Revolution Beauty Blusher Reloaded ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Rhubarb & Custard (Coral Pink matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brow bone using Jouer Powder Highlighter ($24 at Sephora) in the shade Citrine (gold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Obvi (light pinkish brown) and then I filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix (only found in the Big Box of Lippie Sitx Vault on their website) in the shade Candy Paint (true terracotta matte).

20200311_124443

Final Thoughts: The Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette is a warm toned palette however, to me, this eye look came out very cool toned. I really loved working with this color story today and thought that the blackened teal pop on the lower waterline was a fun little touch. My brows gave me such a hard time today… as you can plainly see … but at least they are semi-even. I can’t wait to get my micro-blading touched up so my brows can stop giving me such a hard time…..

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember… Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Simple Eye Face of the Day

Published March 10, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I got off to the latest of starts today. Got up around 10:30 am and didn’t get started on my makeup until around 12:45 pm so I decided just to do a simple eye look to make it easier and faster for myself today. For let’s jump into what scent I’m wearing and the Face of the Day …..

0a9a1a47-4066-488d-b0ef-a5feeed57f05_1.c9d81a6cd5fb910804b2975400832383

Ralph Lauren Romance Parfum. I purchased this one at Ulta for $78 for the 1.7 fluid ounce bottle. This scent for a while use to be my everyday scent. the notes are: at the top: mandarin essence, pink pepper, and white violet leaves; the middle notes are: rose, jasmine. marigold, and geranium; and the scent is rounded out with: patchouli, oakmoss, and musk. See here it is again!!! I must like patchouli more than I thought I did because this is the 3rd scent this week that I wore that has patchouli in it or perhaps I just don’t like patchouli on it’s own.  I would say this scent is very feminine chic. I always feel so put together when I’m wearing this one. I’m also working on my second bottle of this scent. I typically do not repurchase the same perfumes because I have such a large collection… but I just couldn’t imagine my collection without this perfume.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Makeup Forever Step-1 Primer ($37 at Sephora). I chose not to color correct today because I bought my foundation all the way up under my eyes.  My foundation combo for the day is 2 pumps of Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter ($45 at Sephora) in the shade Dew You?, 5 pumps of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($13.99 on Amazon but can be found at Walmart) in the shade Glow, and 3 full droppers of Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation ($39 at Sephora) in the shade Light Sand. I used a very little of Pixi by Petra Pat Away Concealer ($15.99 at Target) in the shade Nude to add a touch more coverage to my under eyes. I set my undereyes using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade Transparent (I also chose this powder as my touch up powder for today). I then set the rest of my face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up the face using my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel ($50 on their website) in the shade Universal Bronze.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade Transparent. For today’s eye look I used the Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Complexion Inspired Eye Shadow Palette ($45 at Ulta and Sephora). As my transition and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid shade I used the color  Maple (warm caramel brown matte). On the inner 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade Seashell (peachy cream matte). I then went in with the shade  Cocoa (medium chocolate brown matte) to deepen the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I took what was left on my transition shade brush to run along the lower lash line.  I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear (I found this product thanks to a fellow beauty blogger named Courtney Carruthers) and then filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta and on the ELF website) in the shade Deep Brown and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Swan (eggshell matte). I popped on a pair of Ardell lashes ($4 at Ulta) in a style I can’t remember … I just remember that these are Ardell lashes. I lined the lower waterlines using NYX Faux Whites Liner ($8 at Ulta) in the shade Linen (nude) and coated my upper and lower lashes with MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Black. I then highlighted the inner corners using Urban Decay Single Eye Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (an icy pink with silver reflect).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I am wearing NARS Blush ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Dolce Vita (a dusty rose satin). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, bridge of my nose, and the high points of my brows using BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop (soft gold with pinky-peach pearl). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (no longer sold on it’s own … can be found in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils) in the shade Oh Sis (smoked paprika) and then topped the lips off using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Cami (cool-toned mauve).

20200310_164832

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I really did need to sleep in today since I got up so early yesterday but I really hate that the day seems to be all but gone now.

The foundation combo I did today is so pretty and skin like. I think I might be wearing this combo again tomorrow. I would however use only 1 pump of the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops since I think it makes the skin look a bit glittery under the Too Faced Ethereal Powder.

Well that’s all for today dolls. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
