Orange Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Published January 30, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I’m still in a fibro flare and am in a considerable amount of pain today. I woke up feeling a bit more refreshed today so hopefully I will have a good energy day. I was feeling like I wanted to do an orange look today so I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on her website). So let’s jump into the Face of the Day ….

20200130_123315

Base: I primed using the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer (). For foundation I am wearing Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation () in the shade 4.5 Medium. My concealer is J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer () in the shade Custard. I set my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder () in translucent. I warmed up the face using ELF Contour Palette ($8 on their website) in the light/medium color way and I used the 1 shade of the 2nd row. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

20200130_123254  Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium Honey and set that with a small amount of the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. Today’s eye look I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on her website). For my transition shade I used the color Story-Matte (the burnt orange row). On my mobile lid I used the color Story-Metallic (the same row of color) on the outter 2/3 of my mobile lid and then went in with Aura-Metallic (the cream row) over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then went back and forth between the two shades over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the seams between the inner and outer 1/3. I took more of Story-Matte on the lower lash line. I took a mixture of Soothe-Matte (the tan row of color) and Ritual-Matte (the brown row of color) and deepened my outer v, taking a little of the mixture into the crease as well. I then took more of Ritual-Matte closest to my lash line to smoke out the lower lash line. I used the Urban Decay Single Shadow () in the shade Midnight Cowboy to highlight the inner corners. I tight lined my upper waterline and my lower waterline using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($) in the shade Swerve (black). I did my brows with Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 and then set my brows using Benefit Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 6. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that using Aura-Matte (the cream row of color). For mascara I used Benefit Roller Lash Mascara () in black.

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is J Cat Beauty Blush-Mallow Soft Blush () in the shade Tutti Fluffy (a bright pinky coral matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead using Pixi X Rachh Loves The Layers Highlighting Palette () in a mix of the shades Lace ( a pale icy pink) and Clutch (a pale champagne) and then I used just Clutch to highlight my Cupid’s Bow.  I then used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder () in the shade 2 Medium as a finishing powder. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade BFF (a warm nude) and filled my lips in using MAC Amplified Lipstick () in the shade Blankety (a very pale nude peach).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                             While I really love the look I came up with today I feel like the lipstick might be too nude for the shadow. I was afraid of the Orange row of shadows in the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette at first. I thought it would either look too muddy or too Orange…. This shade is so amazing! It blends out beautifully and doesn’t go muddy when buffing other colors into it. I’m truly loving this palette so much.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation: A+++!!!                                                                             I’ve talked about this foundation tons, for good reason… this foundation looks so beautiful on the face! It blends in to seamlessly that you can’t even tell you have foundation on and it doesn’t emphasize texture on the face.

J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer: B-                                          I have been trying this one on and off since I purchased it. Some days it looks amazing and other days, like today, it looks like the Sahara Desert . I have a very emollient eye cream so it shouldn’t look as dry as it does under my eyes today. It just seems to emphasize my fine lines 10 fold today. This concealer is just hit or miss for me now.

ELF Contour Palette: A-                                                                                                                 Ever since trying new bronzers I don’t love this one as much as I did. It’s still a great bronzer but it just doesn’t have the under tone that I am drawn to.

ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner in the color Swerve: A++                                                           I am so confused with these BFF Gel Liners… some work on my waterline and others don’t. This one worked great. And the black is just the right shade, not too black and not to grey. It’s long lasting too.

MAC Amplified Lipstick in the color Blankety: A+++                                                                     I love the Amplified formula so much. It’s so creamy and comfortable on the lips and Blankety is the prettiest pale nude I have ever owned. It’s super pale without looking like concealer lips. I forgot I owned this shade and since using today have moved it to my everyday drawer.

20200130_123409 (1)

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you continue to have a great day/night and that you are as pain free as possible and with plenty of spoons…. remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Smokey Pink Shadow Face of the Day

Published January 25, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!!! Hope you are having a great day. I woke up early but had a world of trouble with my makeup today…. I had to redo my eyes 2 times and I still didn’t get them the way I wanted but it’s getting later and I decided to just keep the look rather then redo my eyes for a 3rd time. It wasn’t until I had already done my whole face did I realize I didn’t have a pink lipstick so I chose a deep red which I think throws the look off but what can I do??? Then I remembered I had a lip pencil that was pink … so I used that to fill in my lips and topped it with a gloss… I still don’t really like this makeup look, but it looks much better paired with a pink lip. The lip combo I am wearing in the pictures above is MAC Lip Pencil in Burgundy paired with MAC Matte Lipstick in Studded Kiss. Also as a side note… I tried out the new Tati Beauty Blendiful ($18 on her website) today. There was a small learning curve but it applied my foundation well. I still prefer my Beauty Blender because I’m a creature of habit but the Blendiful did apply foundation beautifully, I wasn’t a fan of it for my concealer… I felt that my concealer was a bit patchy so I went in with the Beauty Blender to perfect the under eyes…. I’ll continue to try it out and see if I will love it as much as all the YouTubers that have given it a rave review.  Well …. lets get to the Face of the Day ……

20200125_140933

Base: I primed the face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer ($37 at Sephora). Since I was testing out the Blendiful I decided to go for a foundation that I know always looks beautiful … I chose Loreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear ($14.99 at Ulta) in the color 420 True Beige. What I noticed right off the bat was that I did not need to go back in with a 2nd coat of foundation…. Just the 1 coat was enough with the Blendiful. I concealed my eyes using Pixi by Petra Pat Away Concealing Base ($16 on their website) in the color Nude. I set my face using the J Cat Beauty Aquasurance Compact Foundation ($13.99 at Ulta and their website) in the color Natural. I warmed up my face using the J Cat Beauty Golden Soleil Baked Bronzer ($7.99 at Ulta and on their website) in the color Cancun Golden Tan. I then set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, center of my forehead, and bridge of the nose using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

20200125_140916

Eyes: I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette ($48 on her website) for today’s eye look. I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey and then I set the Shape Tape using the color Aura-Matte (from the cream row). I then took the color Poet-Matte (a deep berry pink from the pink row) on a fluffy crease brush and used it on the outter 1/3 of my mobile lid and into the crease, I then switched to a clean blending brush and buffed that color out all the way up to my brow bone. I then went back into Poet-Matte and used a smaller crease brush to deepen the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the crease. For my inner 2/3 of my mobile lid I took the color Poet-Metallic and then I took Poet-Glitter on the middle and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then went back into Poet-Matte and deepened the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I took more of Poet-Matte for my lower lash line and then highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the color Fairy Tale. I then did my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the color 4.5 and Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the color 6 and then I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using more of Aura-Matte. I started to use the ColourPop BFF Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the color Joy Ride (a deepened Burgundy) on my lined my waterlines but it wouldn’t stick to the waterlines and kept bleeding all over the place so I switched to the Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eye Liner ($5 on their website) in the color Nude. Today I used a new mascara to me …. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes ($23 at Ulta and Sephora).

20200125_141114

Cheeks and Lips: On my cheeks today I am using ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the color Birthday Suit (a neutral pink satin). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, and Cupid’s Bow using J Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter ($8.99 at Ulta and on their website) in the color Twilight. I lined my lips using NYX Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the color Bloom (a mid-toned berry pink) and then filled my lips in with it. I then topped off my lips using NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on their website) in the color Chihuahua (a milky guava).

20200125_141133

Final Thoughts:

Tati Beauty Blendiful: A-  This is a good makeup tool. It applied the foundation beautifully but I didn’t like the way it applied my concealer I felt like it left the concealer patchy, now that could be the type of concealer I used so I plan to try this item out again with a different concealer to see if it applies it smoothly. I did not use it for my powder products. I purchased this product to use specifically with liquids only., like I do with the Beauty Blender.

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette: A+++!!!                                                                      Every time I use this palette I fall deeper in love with it. I didn’t really love the look I came up with today, but that’s just a preference thing and not a shadow thing. I typically go for more neutral looks over bright and bold but I wanted to try this color out to see how well it blends and man does it blend wonderfully!!

ColourPop BFF Gel Liner in Joy Ride: F                                                                                      This is the second color I have tried on my waterline that wouldn’t stick. This one bled out of the waterline and just created a huge mess. I’ve used it on my upper lash line and it went on nicely but skip this one if you are looking for a pop of color on the waterline.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara: B+                                                                                 This is a nice mascara, the lashes look OK and nothing clumped together. It’s a good everyday mascara but you wont get a lot of lift or thickness with this one.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Stay tuned shortly for a quick makeup haul, I’m running to Ulta to pick up a few things and I received a few things in the mail today. Until then remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Ethereal Eyed Face of the Day

Published January 24, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day today. Today I will be reviewing the complexion products I purchased from the J Cat Beauty website. I do have to say that I’m low key obsessed with this eye look and I used glitter. GLITTER!!! Tati Westbrook knows what she is doing with eyeshadow!! So let’s get started with this Face of the Day, and also mini product review ….

20200124_115348

Base: I primed my face using the J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator Primer ($7.99 on their website) the Licorice formula. For foundation I am using the J Cat Beauty HD Perfection Skinsealer Foundation ($7.99 on sale for $5 on their website) in the color Warm Honey. I chose not to color correct today so i could test out the new concealer …. I concealed my under eyes using J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer ($7.99 on their website) in the color Custard. I set my face using J Cat Beauty Aquasurance Compact Foundation ($13.99 on their website) in the color Natural. I warmed up my face using J cat Beauty Golden Soleil Baked Bronzer ($7.99 on their website) in the color Cancun Golden Tan. I then set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, center of my forehead, and bridge of my nose using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey. For today’s eye look I am using Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette ($48 on her website). I set the Shape Tape using the color Aura-Matte (the cream row of colors). I then took the color Soothe-Matte (the tan row of colors) and used that as my crease and transition shade combined. I then took Soothe-Glitter on my mobile lid skipping the very inner part of the mobile lid. I used the color Soothe-Metallic on the inner part of the mobile lid and used Ritual-Matte (the dark brown row of colors) on just the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid over the glitter. I used Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the color Fair Tale (an icy white shimmer) to highlight the inner corners. For my brows I used Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the color 4.5 and Benefit Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the color 6. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using more of Aura-Matte. I lined the waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the color Get Paid (a rose gold shimmer liner) and then used more of Smoothe-Matte on my lower lash line. For mascara today I am using Revolution’s The Mascara Revolution ($10 on their website) in the color Black.

20200124_115718

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is J Cat Beauty Blush-Mallow Soft Blusher ($4.99 on their website) in the color Tutti Fluffy (a bright pinkish coral). I used the J Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter ($8.99 on their website) in the color Twilight (a mid-toned gold) to highlight the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, and Cupid’s Bow. I lined my lips using Loreal Infallible 6-HR Never Fail Lip liner ($8.99 at Ulta) in the color Coral and then filled in my lips with MAC Satin Lipstick ($19 at Ulta and MAC) in the color Brave (a mid-toned pinkish coral).

Final Thoughts:

J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator Primer: A++                                                       You get 1.05 fluid ounces of product for $7.99. This is a pretty primer. It gives the skin a nice glow that has a pinkish shift to it. It felt very hydrating and created a great base that allowed my foundation to go on very smoothly. It also seemed to blur my pores.

J Cat Beauty HD Perfection Skinsealer Foundation: A+++!!!!                                                  You get .85 fluid ounces of product for $7.99, it is on sale on their website for $5. This foundation is billed as a flawless, full coverage foundation that gives the skin the most beautiful natural finish. It’s offered in 10 shades with 4 shades for deeper skin tones. This foundation is so freaking beautiful!!! It left my face so dewy and so fresh. The color was a tad bit darker than my skin tone but I loved the finish so much that I will finish the bottle up and then purchase the shade Sweet Buff (which is one shade lighter than Warm Honey). This foundation is definitely full coverage but when using a Beauty Blender it lays down more like a high medium coverage so I went in with a 1/2 pump more (I used a total of 2 1/2 pumps to get full coverage) and it built on itself nicely. I waited 7 minutes to see if it would oxidize and it did not. I seriously can’t tell you enough just how much I loved this foundation with just 1 application!!! It didn’t emphasize pores or fine lines, in fact it seemed to make my skin look perfected and flawless.

J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer: A-                                    You get .33 ounces of product for $7.99. It’s billed as a light-weight, yet, long lasting concealer that combats dark circles, redness, and any imperfection for a flawless look that is waterproof and has a medium to full coverage. It comes in 16 shades with 6 shades for deeper skin tones. This is a thick concealer and is so pigmented that a little goes a very long way. It reminds me a bit of the Tarte Shape Tape, however it’s more hydrating than the Shape Tape. It isn’t as light-weight as their claims say, but that’s Ok because it leaves the under eye smooth and polished. I haven’t tested the waterproof claim but it does feel like it could be at least resistant to water. I will definitely be using this product up but am not sure if I will repurchase it… I want to test it in the Florida Summer heat.

J Cat Beauty Aquasurance Compact Foundation: A+++!!! You get .31 ounces of product for $13.99. It is billed as a finely milled luxurious, silky texture that minimizes the appearance of pores with medium to full coverage. It comes in 13 shades with 4 shades for deeper skin tones. This powder foundation is the first one that I have come across that is actually full coverage if you use the sponge… it is about high medium coverage with a fluffy powder brush. I don’t know how, but this powder actually blurs the pores! My skin looks flawless. I really, REALLY like this powder and have already purchased a back up.

J cat Beauty Golden Soleil Baked Bronzer: A+++!!!! You get .35 ounces of product for $7.99. It’s billed as a velvety SOLAR baked formula that wears all day and won’t transfer onto clothes. The smooth texture blends effortlessly with any powder brush for buildable, customizable coverage that wakes skin up and delivers a lit-from-within luminosity. The non-dusty and non-drying color stays true and even for hours without oxidizing. Lately I have been loving a glowy bronzer… this one takes the cake!!! It’s glowy without having shimmer to it like the other satin bronzers I own. It’s the perfect under tone and buffs into the skin so nicely that you can’t tell when the bronze begins and ends, it just leaves your skin looking sun kissed. I love this one so much I’ve already repurchased it.

ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner in the color Get Paid: A+++!!!                                                    You get .007 ounces of product for $6 however this color is on sale for $4.50 on their website right now. This color is so beautiful on the waterline! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! It’s creamy and did not skip or tug at my skin. It stays pretty good on the waterlines too.

J Cat Beauty Blush-Mallow Soft Blusher: A++                                                                             You get .14 ounces of product for $4.99. It comes in 16 shades. This is a cream to powder formula. It reminds me of a matte version of ColourPop Super Shock Cheek. It is extremely pigmented! I used a duo fiber blush brush and tapped it into the product just slightly and still had to buff some of the product out. I really love the color I chose but do not see my self purchasing other colors.

J Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter: A+++!!! You get .30 ounces of product for $8.99. It comes in 9 colors. It’s billed as a multi-dimensional Baked formula brings instant GLOW all day long due to high intense shimmer pigment. It is designed to complement all skin tones and all skin types. The smooth texture blends effortlessly and gives the perfect luminous finish that complete your look. There is no glitter in this highlighter and yet it’s so super reflective! I love the formula so much, it’s smooth and doesn’t go on patchy or chunky. A really good find!!

**** On a side note …. I tried the Tati Beauty glitter formula and I have got to say I am obsessed with it!! There was very little fallout with this glitter formula, it went on smoothly and opaque and super stunning!!! OH MY GOSH ….. I never thought I’d ever like glitter…. I do now….

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoyed this look, I’m so in love with it! I hope the rest of your day is amazing and remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Makeup Haul

Published January 23, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Like I’ve said before Tati Westbrook is one of my all time favorite YouTubers. When I saw she came out with a Beauty Blender alternative I just had to jump on it. It’s called the Bendiful and it retails for $18 on the Tati Beauty website. From first glance it is so soft and it’s much bigger than I thought it would be. I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll be doing a review on it on Saturday.

I purchased so new J Cat Beauty makeup that I will review for you tomorrow what I got is as follows ….

Primer & Glow Face Illuminator Primer … retails for $7.99 on the J Cat beauty website and you get 1.05 fluid ounces. This primer is offered with 2 different extracts…. Licorice (which is the one I purchased) and Coconut. I tested it on the back of my hand and it’s a velvety smooth primer that adds glow to the skin with out looking greasy … I’ll be testing it out tomorrow for a better knowledge of how it makes the skin look but I noticed that the back of my hand had no glitter or too much shimmer.

HD Perfection Skinsealer Foundation …. $7.99 for .85 fluid ounces on the J Cat beauty website. It comes in 10 shades with 4 shades for darker skin tones. It’s billed as having a flawless, full coverage foundation that gives the skin the most beautiful natural finish. The shade I chose is 1 shade too dark, I chose Warm Honey and I should have chosen Sweet Buff… If I end up liking the foundation I think I will purchase the correct shade if I can’t get this shade to work for me with my foundation mixer.

Staysurance Water-Sealed/Zero-Smudge Concealer…. Retails for $7.99 for .33 fluid ounces on the J Cat beauty website. It’s billed as a light-weight, yet, long lasting concealer that combats dark circles, redness, and any imperfection for a flawless look. It comes in 16 shades with 7 shades for deeper skin tones. Again I chose the wrong shade…. I went too light. I chose Custard when I should have chosen Buff…. This concealer on the back of my hand felt thick like the Tarte Shape Tape… but it felt hydrating. This one is so thick that I have a feeling that I am going to have a problem with creasing …. we shall see tomorrow.

Aquasurance Compact Foundation …. Retails for $13.99 on the J Cat beauty website and is billed a having a finely milled luxurious, silky texture that minimizes the appearance of pores. That absorbs and balances excess oil without creasing & looking cakey. As having innovative technology with water lock system to maintain moisture within the powder and that it provides medium to full coverage for a natural flawless complexion. This powdered foundation comes in 13 shades with 4 shades for deeper skin tones. Finally I picked the right shade, it’s in the color Natural. From the swatch I can tell this is a silky smooth powder and I only swiped my finger through it 2 times to get this coverage.

Golden Soleil Baked Bornzer …  Retails for $7.99 for .35 ounces of product on the J Cat beauty website and is billed as being multidimensional and light as air, this velvety SOLAR baked formula wears all day and won’t transfer onto clothes. The smooth texture blends effortlessly with any powder brush for buildable, customizable coverage that wakes skin up and delivers a lit-from-within luminosity. The non-dusty and non-drying color stays true and even for hours without oxidizing. It comes in 4 shades and I picked the 3rd shade in the rang, Cancun Golden Tan. This is a super shiny bronzer… I’m nervous about trying this one out all over my face … we shall see….

Blush Mallow Soft Blusher… Retails for $4.99 on the J Cat beauty website and is billed as a buildable formula with a marshmallow texture that transforms into a weightless. soft-matte powder finish for a healthy flushed cheek. It’s offered in 16 shades. I chose the shade Tutti Fluffy (a deep pinky coral). The texture is a creamy texture similar to the formula of the Chanel Soleil De Chanel bronzer. I don’t know how this will layer over a powdered face but I’m sure it will be OK.

You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter …. Retails for $8.99 for .30 ounces of product on the J Cat beauty website and is billed as a multi-dimensional baked formula that brings instant GLOW all day long due to high intense shimmer pigment. It is designed to complement all skin tones and all skin types. The smooth texture blends effortlessly and gives the perfect luminous finish that complete your look. It comes in 9 shades and I chose the 2nd tone in the range called Twilight. When i swatched this on the back of my hand I didn’t notice any glitter so I’m excited to try it…. I think it maybe a tinny too deep for me but I’m sure it will work with a light hand.

Hakari Cream Pigments …. Retails for $15 on their website, however I purchased mine on Amazon for $12.00 each and you get .14 ounces of product. I was running out of my Honey Dew so I picked up a back up and also wanted to try the shade Fairy Tale … in the swatches above fairy tale is on the left and honey dew is on the right.

20200123_113605

I ran out of my Hand Skin and Nails supplement so I needed a new one and I have a friend on Facebook that sells for a company called It Works… they sell body wraps and dietary supplements and detox teas… I figured I give her some business and she gave me a discount for $35 for a 60 capsule bottle. I’ll keep you updated on how well it works once I have used it up.

20200123_133748

Lights Lacquer Nail Polish….  Each bottle retails for $9.50 for .40 ounces of product in each bottle…. I purchased 2 single shades … Rosie and Cold Turkey and I purchased a 6 bottle bundle for $52 in the colors …. Alexandrite, Amethyst, Citrine, Emerald, Ruby, Smokey Quartz. I’ve mentioned this before but Kathleen Lights’ polish formula is my all time favorite and I am so happy to have these 8 shades to add to my collection… new Mani Mondays will be coming soon….

Well that’s all for now dolls… Stay tuned tomorrow for my full complexion review of J Cat Beauty products. Until then remember save a spoon for a bit of makeup.

XOXO

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Face of the Day

Published January 22, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey. Hope you are having a great day. I got off to a late start today. The cold weather we are having here in Florida has me i heaps of pain and very stiff. Today was the first day all year I had to turn on the heat. My hair isn’t playing well with others and it took me a while to get my makeup half way decent today…. So let’s just jump into the Face of the Day …..

20200122_132549

Base: I primed my face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer ($37 at Sephora). For foundation I chose Loreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the color 420 True Beige. I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium and followed that up with Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25-HR Lightweight Medium Coverage Concealer ($4.99 at Target) in the color 200 Light. I set my face using Pixi by Petra Colour Correcting Powder Foundation ($20 at Target) in the color No. 2 Nude. I then set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of the nose, and center of my forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website). To warm up my face I used Rimmel London Natural Bronzer ($5.79 at Target) in the color 022 Sun Bronze.

Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey. For today’s look I am using the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on the Tati Beauty website). I used the color Aura-Matte (a cream colored) to set the Shape Tape. For my transition color I used Soothe-Matte (a tan colored). To deepen my crease and the outer 1/2 of my mobile lid I used Ritual-Matte (a deep true brown). I then used Soothe-Metallic (a tan) all over the mobile lid and then layered some of Ritual-Metallic over the outer 1/2 of the mobile lid. I used Soothe-Matte on my lower lash line to smoke it out and then followed that up with Ritual-Matte to deepen the lower lash line a bit. I used Aura-Metallic on the inner corners to highlight that area. On my waterlines I first went in with ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the color HoneyDude (a nude) but was not getting much color payoff so I switched to Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website) in the color Nude. I did my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) and Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the color 4.5 and then carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that with more of  Aura-Matte. For mascara today I chose MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash ($20 at MAC and Ulta).

20200122_132506 Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I have on Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the color Seduce (a rosey nude matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, and Cupid’s bow using Makeup Geek Highlighter ($9.99 on their website) in the color Midnight Sun (a golden champagne). I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 on the Beautylish website) in the color Pillow Talk (a pink nude matte) and filled in my lips using Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick ($5.94 at Ulta) in the color Wink for Pink (a mid-toned pink peralised finish). I then topped the center of my lips with NARS Lipgloss ($24 at Sephora and on their website) in the color Dolce Vita (a mid-toned berry mauve).

Final Thoughts:

Loreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation: A+++!!!                                                         I’ve already done a full face Loreal review where I reviewed this foundation ( you can view that here -> Loreal Review )so I’ll make this short …. I freaking love the finish of this foundation!!! I will definitely repurchase this one when I run out.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25-HR Lightweight Medium Coverage Concealer:A++    This is one of the only things I loved from when I did my Full Face Rimmel post                  -> Rimmel Review . This concealer is really nice, I just hate the sponge tipped applicator it’s so scratchy on the eyes.

Pixi by Petra Colour Correcting Powder Foundation: A++                                                      This is not a full coverage foundation powder but it works great as a setting powder. It completely set my foundation and didn’t emphasize pores and fine lines.

Rimmel London Natural Bronzer: B-                                                                                             Like I said in my Rimmel Review, there is nothing special about this bronzer it’s just OK. However, this is the first time I used it to contour my nose and the color is perfect for a nose contour.

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette: A+++!!!!                                                            Holy sweet baby pickles!!! This palette is life!!!! The finely milled shadows blended out effortlessly and did not go muddy when buffed into other colors. There was some kickback in the pans but no fallout on the face. This is a well formulated palette and well worth the splurge. I might even use some of the glitters in my next look just because they are so perfectly formulated.

ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner in the color HoneyDude: D-                                                This is specific to this color only. This color did not want to set down on my waterline. I couldn’t get any color payoff at all. Now I tested it on the back of my hand and it swatched well which means it should be good for the upper lash line, however what’s the point to a nude eye liner on the upper lash line??? I loved the other 2 BBF Liners I tried so this one was a let down.

MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash: A+++!!! I really love this mascara for my lower lashes. I tried it on my upper lashes and it looks pretty. This is a mascara that has been in my collection many times over the past few years. I will always repurchase this mascara.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: A+                                                                                            This is the first product I tried from Revlon. This lipstick is comfortable on the lips and doesn’t have a scent. It’s not the most long wearing lipstick, however it’s so reasonably priced that i don’t mind having to reapply it. It doesn’t feather and doesn’t travel outside the lip line.

Well that’s it for now dolls. Hope you have a good rest of your day. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Hey doll hey!!! I’m so excited to do this post!!! For my anniversary my husband got me the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 Shadow Palette!!!! Tati Westbrook is one of my all time favorite YouTubers and when I heard she was coming out with a palette I desperately wanted it!!! Tati is such an amazing person, she is honest and genuine. You can find her YouTube channel here -> Tati Westbrook . So I’m coming at you with a swatch post of the palette and I’ve gotta say just from swatching this palette I am so freaking excited to use this palette tomorrow!!!! So let’s jump into the swatches…. side note: There is 6 rows of shadows and each row is the same color in different finishes so rather than every shade having a color name it’s every row having a shade name and each row comes in 4 finishes…. Matte, Sequin, Metallic, and Glitter.

from left to right the row names are: The black shades are called Memory, The brown shades are called Rutual, the orange shades are called Story, the tan shades are called Soothe, the cream shades are called Aura, and the berry shades are called Poet.

the Glitter row of shades.

Final Thoughts: You get .18 ounces total in the glitter pans and .72 ounces total for the remaining finishes. The palette retails for $48 on her website. This palette is Cruelty Free and Vegan. What I have learned from just swatching the shadows is that the shadows are finely milled and super pigmented. Every swatch I did was done by swirling my finger 7 times around the pan and in 1 swipe on my arm. Each swatch is done without primer and just on bare skin. The colors blended well on my arm and there was no kickback in the pans. The shadows are so pigmented that I had a bit of trouble wiping the shades from my arm with a baby wipe. The glitters were so super pigmented that the swatches applied completely opaque without having to touch up any of the swatches. As a side note …. the glitter shades were extremely hard to remove, it took 8 baby wipes to get all the glitter off. What I can tell from the swatches is Tati has done glitter the right way. There was no fallout when trying to swatch them and there was no skipping or tugging while applying the swatches. We all know I hate glitter, but I am low key excited to try this glitter formula out … maybe it will make a glitter lover out of me yet!!

Well that’s all for now dolls, tomorrow I will do a look with this palette and give you a full on review so stay tuned. Until then, remember dolls…. save a spoon for a bit of makeup.

XOXO
