Fun Rainbow Eyeliner Face of the Day

Published June 25, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day going? Great I hope. Mine isn’t going very well. I have insomnia right now and have not been to sleep in well over 37 hours. I’m still vomiting from the other day too.

I also injured my eye lid today. I was working with the ColourPop Crème Gel Colour ($7 on their website) in the shade Exit (true white) and it just didn’t go well. This is the worst gel liner in all the world! It went on patchy and it cracked and caked up and just did not go on well at all. Once I did get it on fully on it cracked again and when I tried to apply shadow over the top on it the shadow couldn’t lay down because of the cakeiness of it.

So I had to remove all of my makeup and start again. The problem was that I couldn’t get the eyeliner to come off and had to rub a little harder that I should have and ended up rubbing some of the skin away from my right eye. It was so sore that I ended up having to do this like today on just 1 eye and takes pictures hiding my other eye for today’s post.

It’s so sore and has begun to seep so I ended up putting Neosporin on it to soothe it. So just a little back story to why my pictures have my hand covering half my face. I just loved the look so much that I wanted to share it with you.

So today I’m not wearing any perfume since I am so nauseous today. So let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day….

Base:

I primed my face using Too Faced HangoveRX ($34 at Ulta) and I primed my pore areas using Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta). I then used Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 3. For foundation today I chose a combo of 5 pumps of BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) and 3 Pumps of Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4. I contoured the perimeter of my face and my nose using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Dark. I bronzed my face using Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Grace Bay. I highlighted the high points of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight. I concealed my under eyes using Juvia’s Place I Am Magic Concealer ($14 at Ulta and the Juvia’s Place website) in the shade J23 (fair skin with neutral undertones). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set my bronzer using Makeup Revolution Bronzer Reloaded ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Take a Vacation. I set my highlight using Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way and using the shade Glow. I set the rest of the face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent.  For my setting powder I’ve chosen BH Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder (usually $9.50 but on sale for $4.75 on their website) in the shade 230.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General stores) in clear and filled in my brows using NYX Micro Brow Pencil (regularly $10 but on sale for $7.50 at Ulta) in the shade Brunette. I carved out my brow line and primed my lids using the  P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used shades from the palette I created from CoulorPop and The JKissa X ELF To the Rescue Palette ($20 at Ulta). I started with the ColourPop palette. I used the shade Hear Me Out (white peach – matte) to set the brow line. I then went in with the shade Wake Up Call (warm sand – matte) from lash line to brow line. I then took more of the P.Louise Base and created a long thick wing. I then went in with the JKissa x ELF Palette. Starting at the inner corner I laid down Casey (red – matte). I then laid down Millie (orange – matte) and blended it into the red a bit. I then laid down Yosemite (yellow – matte) and blended it into the orange a bit. I then laid down Peaky (green – matte) and blended it into the yellow a bit. I then laid down the shade Cannoli (bright blue – matte) and blended it into the green a bit. Then finally I laid down the shade Sadie (purple – matte) and blended that into the blue a bit. I then went in with the corresponding shades of shimmers … in order then names are Strawberry, Tsuki, Firefly, Reagan, Bailey, and Confetti. I then went in with the shades Sea Stars (medium yellow brown – matte) and Good Thing (warm chestnut brown – matte) from the ColourPop palette on the lower lash line. I then used the shade Let Me Explain (ivory – matte) from the same palette to highlight my inner corner. I tight lined my upper and lower lash line using the Milani Stay Put Waterproof Eyeliner ($7.99 on their website and at most drug stores like Walgreens and CVS) in the shade 01 Linked on Black. I coated the top and lower lashes with Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Glossy Black.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing Tarte Sugar Rush Beach Cheeks Cream Blush ($15 at Ulta) in the shade Beaches and Cream (peachy pink). I set the cream blush using Makeup Revolution Blusher Reloaded ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Rhubarb & Custard (a coral matte). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippe Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Another Round (rosy nude). I then filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix (Only offered in the limited edition Big Box of Lippie Stix Vault from ColourPop and is no longer available) in the shade At Twilight ( warm muted coral – creme).

Final Thoughts:

Because my eye is so sore I’m going to take a few days off from Face of the Day posts.

I’ll still post some content but it wont be Face of the Day content.

I really do love the way this look turned out I think the liner is so super cute so once my eye heals I plan on redoing this look for both eyes.

Stay tuned later this week for my June Beauty Buys.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and good spirits.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Another Go to Makeup Look for Doctor’s Appointments Face of the Day

Published June 22, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Sorry I went missing for 3 days…. wasn’t feeling too well so I needed to take a few days rest. I’m feeling much better today…although I slept through my 7 AM alarm and didn’t manage to get out of bed until 11:30 AM…. had a Doctor’s appointment today so I only just got home around 5:45 PM … I keep wanting to play around with my rainbow palette but I’ve had several Doctor appointments so I haven’t been able to play with too much color as of late… hopefully I’ll be feeling good tomorrow and then I can play with my JKissa X ELF palette some more.

Today I am wearing Juicy Couture perfume…. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …..

For foundation today I chose Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation ($50 at Sephora) in the shade Beige 3.  I bronzed lightly using the Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Grace Bay. I highlighted the high points of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight. I concealed my under eyes using NYX Born to Glow Radiant Concealer ($9 at Ulta) in the shade fair.

For today’s eye look I used shades from the palettes I created from ColourPop. I started by setting my brow line using the shade Hear ME Out (white peach – matte). For my crease I used the shade Sea Stars (medium yellow brown – matte). I deepened the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using the shade Feathered (rich chocolate brown – matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile I used the shade Party Favors (duo-chrome peach with a gold flip – metallic). I then used the shade Miser (duo-chrome terracotta with blue-green – metallic) over the middle 1/3 to blend the inner and outer parts of the mobile lid together. For the lower lash line I used more of the shade Sea Stars and then lightly deepened the lash line using more of the shade Feathered. I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Let Me Explain (ivory – metallic). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (metallic rose gold). I then coated my lashes with Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Glossy Black. I then popped on a pair of Ardell Faux Mink Lash ($6.49 at Ulta) in the style #812 lashes. I highlighted the inner corners using the dazzle shade from the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora).

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing Tarte Amazonian 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Seduce (rosy nude). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade BFF (warm nude) and I filled in my lips with MAC Matte Lip Stick ($19 on the MAC website) in the shade Myth (light neutral nude). I finished off my look with Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way … I used the middle shade called Soft Focus as a finishing powder.

Final Thoughts:

I’ve been super sluggish this past few days … I also was in heaps of pain so I was pretty much bed ridden for the past 3 days. It’s good to be out of bed finally.

I made a huge 24 piece purchase off the ELF website to review some new to me products for the blog. I also made a small 6 piece purchase off the Makeup Revolution website … however I made a mistake and ended up purchasing from the UK site instead of the US site so it might take a while to get to me. I also made another Beautylish skin care purchase to top off my back ups.

I really want to make a huge Sydney Grace purchase too. I want to purchase a palette that I curate myself. That might have to wait till next month because it’s a bit spendy.

It’s beginning to rain here now in Florida (it’s our rainy season) and so my pain level is really high all the sudden … so I’m going to get going and lay down for a bit … I’m happy to be back and once again I am so sorry for going MIA for the past 3 days.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

My Go To Doctor Visit Makeup Face of the Day

Published June 18, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I was up around 8:40 AM today … had a doctor’s appointment today. Well really I had a Dental Surgeon appointment today … it was a consult for to get 2 of my wisdom teeth removed. I forgot to take pictures before I left for my appointment so I just took them in the car while I was waiting for my food to be dropped at my car today … Olive Garden for dinner since I didn’t get out of my appointment until around 4:30 PM.

This is my go to look when I have a doctor’s appointment. Don’t mind the messy lipstick… it’s hard to keep your lips looking good under a mask … I opted for a matted lip color since that would be less messy than a creme lip would have.

Today I wore Gucci Bamboo perfume. Let’s dive into today’s Face of the Day…

For today’s eye look I used the ELF The New Classics Palette ($14 on their site also sold at Target). Teal Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Published June 14, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I slept in today …. feeling a bit nauseous still…. My Fibromyalgia is really not cooperating with me the last few days …

I’m still playing around with the palette that I created from ColourPop ($45 for 24 shadows and a z palette on their website). I felt like playing with the 2 metallic blue shades that I picked and this was the look I came up with.

I’m not wearing any perfume today since I feel so nauseous…. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …..

Base:

I primed my face using I Heart Revolution Coconut Dream Hydrating Primer ($8 at Ulta) and I primed my pore areas using Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta). For foundation today I chose L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 420 True Beige. I contoured my face using the NYX Micro-Contour Pencil (originally $10 but on sale for $5 on their website) in the shade Deep. I bronzed the face using Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Grace Bay. I highlighted the high points of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight. I color corrected my under eyes using Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector ($22 at Ulta) in the shade Light Medium and then I concealed my under eyes using Makeup Revolution Super Size Conceal & Define Concealer ($10 on their website) in the shade C 6.5.  I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set my bronzer using Pixi By Petra Beauty Bronzer ($18 on their website) in the shade Summertime. I set my highlight using Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way and using the shade Glow. I set the rest of the face using  Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the shade translucent. For my setting powder I’ve chosen BH Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder (usually $9.50 but on sale for $4.75 on their website) in the shade 230.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash ($6.99 at Ulta) in clear and filled in my brows using Revolution Pro Define and Fill Brow Pencil ($8 at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed the rest of my lids using the  P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used shadows from the ColourPop palette that I created ($45 for 24 shades and a z palette)…. I started by setting my brow line with ColourPop single shadow ($4.5 on their website) in the shade Hear Me Out (white peach – matte). For my transition shade (which I used from lash line to brow line) I used the shade Conundrum (warm brown – matte). I deepened my outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using the shade Top Notch (terracotta brown – matte). On the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Gridlock (bright teal with silver & teal glitter – metallic). For added dimension I patted a bit of the shade AntiMatter (turquoise with a deep purple duochrome flip – metallic) over the space between the inner 2/3 and the outer 1/3 and buffed the edges into each other for a seamless blend. For the lower lash line I used more of the shade Top Notch for the outer 2/3 of the lash line … I then went in with a combo of the shades Gridlock and AntiMatter for the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line. Final Thoughts:

The more I play around with the NYX Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa See Oil Jelly Cheek Color the more I like it. I think it just has a learning curve to it. It’s a super pretty color. It can be super pretty sheered out or super punchy if you pat it out slightly.

I’ve created another ColourPop 24 shade palette that I will be purchasing for my July beauty buys.

I’m also thinking of picking up a few of the Fenty Beauty blushes and the cream bronzer for next month.

Well dolls … That’s all for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and good health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

For my transition shade I then used the shade Pretty Please (cool taupe – matte). For my crease and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Good Thing (chestnut brown – matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Miser (terracotta with blue-green duo-chrome – metallic). I then used the shade Misty  (pinky rose gold with baby blue glitter – metallic) on the middle 1/3 of my mobile lid to blend the outer and inner 1/3 together. I then went in on the very outer part of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the very outer part of the outer v of the crease with the ColourPop Single Eye Shadow ($4.5 on their website ) in the shade Feathered (rich chocolate brown – matte). I finished off my look with Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way … I used the middle shade called Soft Focus as a finishing powder.

Final Thoughts:

This was the biggest palette I’ve put together from the ColourPop website … I have 2 other palettes that I’ve created that were 12 shades and a z palette for $24 … I really do love the formula of their single shadows. There is no kick back in the pans and no fallout on the face. They blend smoothly and buff into each other without skipping or going patchy.

I am probably going to purchase another 24 shade palette next month too.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and good health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Smokey Neutral Face of the Day

Published May 5, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey. How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up super late today (around 10:30 AM), had a hard time sleeping again last night due to pain.

I also had to take several breaks whilst doing my makeup due to said pain.

Today’s perfume selection is Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Revealed. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …

I buffed the lower lash line out with the shade Pink Slip (soft beigey taupe matte) and then highlighted the inner corners using the shade Tardy (oft golden champagne super shock shadow). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta). I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown).

Cheeks and Lips:

For my blush I did the same thing as yesterday….. I applied my blush with the rest of my cream products since I was using a Super Shock Cheek blush…. and then set it when I set the rest of my face and I think it gave me a pretty flushed look. I used ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the shade Quarters (a mid-toned peachy coral satin). I lined and filled in my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude) and then topped that off with L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 448 I-Tease (a soft taupey pink matte) and felt that this was too muted so I tapped a few dots of Makeup Geek Creme Stain ($11.99 on their website) in the shade Jitterbug (an intense coral matte) and then I felt that this was too dry looking so I topped the whole lip off using NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on the NARS website) in the shade Stripe Tease  (Sheer champagne nude).

Final Thoughts:

Dolls!!! I finally hit pan on a blush!!! I have never hit pan on a blush ever!! I hit pan on ColourPop Super Shock Cheek  in the shade Quarters!! I’m kinda feeling like a sad panda about it because ColourPop is out of this shade on their website and I truly love this shade so much.

Tonight I am making Carne Guisada …. recipe and photos to come later tonight.

Well that’s it for now dolls. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night. Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Low Maintenance Ethereal Face of the Day

Published May 2, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I didn’t sleep that well last night and today I’m in a loads of pain. I also couldn’t get to my blog post until just now (8 PM) because our neighbor had the cable people fixing their line and they accidentally severed our cable line and so we had to wait from 2 PM till 7 PM for a service tech to come out and fix the line.

Since I am not feeling good today I did a low maintenance look. My perfume today is Kate Spade Live Colorfully. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …

20200502_183543

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using It Cosmetics Pores No More Primer (discontinued) and I then added a bit of glow to the skin by using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora and the Beautylish website). My foundation today is Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer ($29 at Ulta) in the shade 20N  Light Neutral. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Dark. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website). I concealed my under eyes using 3 dots of  NYX Born to Glow Radiant Concealer ($9 at Ulta) in the shade Fair. I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer ($34 at Ulta). I am using Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder ($4 at Walmart) in the shade 011 creamy natural as my touch up powder today.

20200502_183522

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using  my professional brow powder that I get from my brow lady ($10 at Oh La La Brow Bar) in the shade Dark Brown. I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and I also used a little of this to cut my brow line. For today’s eye look I used Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette ($45 at Ulta and Sephora). I kept it simple today. I used the shade Maple (warm caramel brown matte) all through the crease an than I used the shade  Shimmering Pearl (gold with a slight pink shift metallic) all over the mobile lid. For the lower lash line I used more of the shade Maple and than I layered the shade Golden Light (antique gold metallic) over the top and layered more of Maple over the top of that to give the under eye a bit of movement. I highlighted the brow line using the shade Swan (eggshell matte). I lined my lower waterlines using BH Cosmetics Powder Pencil (originally on sale for $8 but on sale for $6 on their website) in the shade Beige Nude. I then coated my upper lashes with 2 coats of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta) and then for my lower lash line I didn’t want the lashes to be too harsh so I used Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in dark brown as a lower lash mascara. I highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honey Dew. I then went over my crease with whatever was left on the brush that I applied my mobile lid color with to give it just a hint of glow.

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I am wearing Tarte 12-HR Amazonian Clay Blush ( $29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Captivating (peach matte). I lined and filled in my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude) and then topped that off with L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 448 I-Tease (a soft taupey pink matte) and felt that this was too muted so I tapped a few dots of Makeup Geek Creme Stain ($11.99 on their website) in the shade Jitterbug (an intense coral matte) and then I felt that this was too dry looking so I topped the whole lip off using NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on the NARS website) in the shade Chihuahua (Sheer Guava).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I planed the next 2 weekend’s family breakfast meal. Every weekend we sit down at the dinning room table and have a big breakfast. This week and next week’s Family Breakfast is Disney themed. For tomorrow’s breakfast I am making Disney’s Chef Mickey Breakfast Pizza and next week I’m making Disney’s Crystal Palace Breakfast Lasagna.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits. Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Quick and Easy Face of the Day

Published March 31, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night? Great I hope. I’m a little low on spoons today. The fatigue has slowed me down considerably. So I decided to just do a simple look today. I am wearing YSL Parisian for today’s scent. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

20200331_145512

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using JCat Beauty Prime and Glow Face Illuminator ($7.99 on their website) in the Licorice formula. I set my full face with Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. For touch up powder today I am using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade transparent.

20200331_145539

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Born This Way The Natural Nudes Palette ($45 at Ulta and Sephora). For my crease shade I used the color Nude (medium neutral brown matte). For my mobile lid I used the color Swan (eggshell matte). For my lower lash line I created a drop shadow with more of Nude and then went in with Maple (warm caramel brown matte) closest to the lash line to add a bit more depth. I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Glistening Snow (white with a gold shift soft metallic). I then went in with the shade Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) from the Rachh Loves X Pixi The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) and patted that over top of the mobile lid to add a bit more dimension to the lid.  I tight lined the upper and lower waterlines using Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen ($12 at Target) in the shade Black Caviar (deep brown). I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49 at Ulta) in the shade 05 Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte sides and set the brow line using the shade Swan (eggshell matte). I popped on a pair of Ardell Natural Lashes ($4.99 at Ulta) in the style 110 and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

20200331_145526

Cheek and Lips:                                                                                                                                 For blush I am using JCat Beauty BlushMellow ($4.99 on their website) in the shade Tutti Fluffy (a bright coral matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) in the shade Lace (a pink with gold flip). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink (terracotta rose) and topped off my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Slacker (soft salmon creme).

20200331_145455

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I have a super cool and simple tip for you when it comes to dried out mascara. I have been trying to use up my L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta), because I have so many open mascaras that I just want to try and get through as many of them as I can before I purchase a new one, and I noticed that the mascara was getting a bit clumpy and this never happens with this particular mascara. I also noticed that it seemed very dry so I remembered that I had a bottle of Inglot Cosmetics Duraline liquid ($14 on the Beautylish website) so I put 5 drops of the Duraline in the mascara tube and mixed my mascara wand around to coat the rest of the mascara and then tried to use it and it’s practically brand new. I had used the Duraline to convert my loose pigments into eyeliner. I never tried it as a replenisher to dried out gels and such. I had gel liner and a brow gel pot that was drying out and I added a few drops in each pot and it worked to bring both back to life. So now I know that I don’t need to throw out my dried out gels I can’t just simply use the Duraline to wake them back up …. saving me money in the long run!

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you have a great rest of the day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

For my transition shade I used the color Maple (warm caramel brown matte). For my crease I used the shade Cocoa (medium chocolate brown matte). I deepened the crease, outer v, and outer 1/3 of my mobile lid using the shade Truffle (deep rich brown matte). On the remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade Shimmering Pearl (gold with a pink shift soft metallic) and then went back over the middle 1/3 using the shade Rose Gold (rose gold soft metallic) to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. For my lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Cocoa. I deepened the lower lash line using more of the shade Truffle and then buffed out the whole lash line using more of the shade Maple. I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Glistening Snow (white with gold shift soft metallic). Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush I am using JCat Beauty BlushMellow ($4.99 on their website) in the shade Tutti Fluffy (a bright coral matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) in the shade Lace (a pink iwht gold flip). Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So I’ve been loving this blush color lately… it’s just the perfect coral pink for a flush of color. I’ve also been doing my blush placement a bit different lately. Instead of placing my blush directly on my  cheeks I take the blush a bit higher on the cheek bones. I saw this on a Makeup Forever master class video and noticed that it gives a more youthful look to the face.

I’ve also been loving this lip combo too… It’s very flattering and goes with almost any eye look.

Well that’s all for now dolls…. I hope and pray you are healthy, safe, and in good spirits. Remember ….. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Simple Look Face of the Day

Published March 22, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m still not 100% well yet, but I’m doing better than I have been. I slept in till 9:30 Am today. I still have a sore throat, runny nose, and a cough but my body is starting to feel better and I no longer have the shakes. I’m still feeling pretty weak and so I decided just to do a simple eye look today…. Let’s jump into today’s scent and Face of the Day ….

20200322_152756

Juicy Couture Parfum. I purchased mine at Ulta for $96 for 3.4 Fluid Ounces. This is one of my husband’s favorite perfumes on me. The scent notes are:  watermelon, mandarin orange, passion fruit, green apple, green leaves, hyacinth, marigold lily, tuberose, rose hip, precious woods, patchouli, caramel, vanilla and crème brûlée. This is another really great everyday casual dress perfume. The scent stays around for about 6 to 8 hours of wear and is sweet but not over the top sweet. You can really pick up on the caramel in this scent. I love this one for just daily use but i have been known to wear it on date night too because hubby loves it so much.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using I Heart Revolution Coconut Dream Hydrating Primer ($8 at Ulta). I also used a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around my nose and outer parts of my cheeks to blur my pores. My foundation today is a combo of 2 pumps of Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter ($45 at Sephora) in the shade Dew You? and 2 scoops of The Balm Even Steven Whipped Foundation ($22 on their website) in the shade Light/Medium. I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. For touch up powder today I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Target) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

I then switched to the Nude palette and deepened my crease and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid using the shade Matt Rosen (a mid toned chocolate brown with a slight red undertone matte). On the remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid I used  L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Eye Shadow ($9.99 on their website) in the shade 892 Amber Rush (rose gold with a copper shift). For my lower lash line I used more of the shade Matt Bernard (a light camel matte) and just swept it along the lower lash line not blowing it out too far. I then went in with more of the shade Matt Rosen (a mid toned chocolate brown with a slight red undertone matte) to deepen the lash line. I lined my lower waterlines using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil ($8 at Ulta and on their website) in the shade Beige. I highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (icy pink with silver flip).  I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using the shade Matt Malloy (pure white matte) from the Nude palette. I popped on a pair Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($12 for 5 pairs at Ulta) in the style Flirty and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Cookie (a pale yellow champagne with a slight silver reflect). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (now only sold in their Lippie Pencil Vault on their website) in the shade On Ice ( deep sangria) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Ellarie (deep cranberry matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I just wanted to reach out and say I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time out of your days to read my blog. It means more to me than you will ever know. I’m just a nerdy girl with an obsession for makeup who just simply loves to share it with the world. I’m too self conscious to have my own YouTube channel… and at 43 I really don’t know that I would be able to make my way through YouTube… so I blog …. and you read it …. and that is such an amazing thing for me. Your kind words and just the very thought that you have taken time… valuable time… out of your day to just pop in and see what I have been up to means the world to me. So thank you very much and I hope that you will know that I am here for you if ever you just need a friendly ear to lean in.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you are in good health, in great spirits, and that you have a great rest of your day/night. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
