Turquoise Half Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing pretty good today! I had an extremely low pain day today (the first time in over 2 years) at around maybe a 3. I also had pretty decent energy.

For today’s look I used shadows from the Beauty Bakerie DO IT FOR THE GRAHAM 12 Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($38 for 1.2 oz / 33.6 g of total product at Ulta making it 0.1 oz / 2.8 g and $3.17 per shade), the Catrice Insta Bae 12 Pan Palette (retails for $15 but is on sale for $12 for 0.44 oz / 12.5 g of product on their website making it 0.037 oz / 1.05 g and $1.25 at retail price or $1.00 at sale price per shade) and the  Juvia’s Place The Masquerade Mini 16 Pan Palette (retail price $30 but on sale for $19.50 for 0.84 oz / 24 g of total product on their website making 0.053 oz / 1.5 g and $1.88 retail price and $1.22 at sale price per shade) as well as 2 of the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows ($7 for 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website).

Today’s scent is…

Gucci Bamboo ($95 for 1.6 fl oz / 50 mL and $74 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Sephora) was launched in 2015 and is a sweet earthy floral with scent notes of:

Top Notes: Casablanca Lily and Bergamot.

Heart Notes: Ylang Ylang and Orange Blossom.

Base Notes: Ambergris, Tahitian Vanilla and Sandalwood.

On to the walk-through of today’s Face of the Day…

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores) and the Makeup Revolution Soap Styler Brow Brush ($6 on their website) . I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I outlined and then filled in my whole brows using the LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil ($5.99 for 0.003 oz / 0.085 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Blackest Brown. I cut my brow line and primed my lids using the Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website) in the shade White Out (pure white). For today’s look I used the Beauty Bakerie DO IT FOR THE GRAHAM 12 Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($38 for 1.2 oz / 33.6 g of total product at Ulta making it 0.1 oz / 2.8 g and $3.17 per shade), the Catrice Insta Bae 12 Pan Palette (retails for $15 but is on sale for $12 for 0.44 oz / 12.5 g of product on their website making it 0.037 oz / 1.05 g and $1.25 at retail price or $1.00 at sale price per shade) and the  Juvia’s Place The Masquerade Mini 16 Pan Palette (retail price $30 but on sale for $19.50 for 0.84 oz / 24 g of total product on their website making 0.053 oz / 1.5 g and $1.88 retail price and $1.22 at sale price per shade) as well as 2 of the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows ($7 for 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website). I started by setting my brow line using the Catrice palette and the shade #Repost (creamy vanilla – matte). I went into the Tan – matte shade from the Beauty Bakerie palette as my transition shade and then from the same palette I used the Light Brown – matte shade as my crease color. On the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids into the v of the crease I used the shade Fulani (deep caramel brown – matte) from the Juvia’s palette. Staying with the same palette I used the shade Zulu (rusty brown – matte) for the outer v of the crease. I popped back into the Catrice palette and used the shade #Dupe (dark brown – matte) to deepen the outer 1/2 of the outer v of the crease. I then cut a low half cut crease using a flat concealer brush and some micellar water and then I went over the newly cut crease with some more Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website) in the shade White Out (pure white). I then went over that with Touch the Sky (teal with gold and teal pin points) from the ColourPop Heart of Gold Disney Princess Super Shock Shadow 12 Piece Set ($62 and has a value of $84 they run for $7 but in the set it comes out to $5.17 per shade for 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website). I then went over that shade with the shade Arabian Nights (icy turquois with silver pin points) from the ColourPop Heart of Gold Disney Princess Super Shock Shadow 12 Piece Set ($62 and has a value of $84 they run for $7 but in the set it comes out to $5.17 per shade for 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website). For the lower lash line I used the residual from the brushes I used in the crease and outer v of the crease to create a soft deep drop shadow. I tight lined my lower and upper water lines using Sephora 12 Hour Contour Pencil Eyeliner ($11 for 0.04 oz / 1.2 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Cocoa (shimmer chocolate brown). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using the shade Giza (ivory white – metallic) from the Juvia’s palette.

Complexion:

I primed my face using LA Girl Pro Prep HD Color Correcting Face Primer ($6.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Ulta). I contoured using Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer ($32 for 0.22 oz/ 6.23 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Amber (contour with cool undertones for fair skin tones). For foundation I chose Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation ($11 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product on their website) in the shade 002 Neutral Ivory. I bronzed using Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer ($35 for 1 oz / 28.35 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Hazelnut (tan to deep with warm undertones), color corrected the under eyes using BECCA Undereye Brightening Corrector (no longer available as company is closing) in the shade light peach. I highlighted the high points of the face using ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter ($9 for 0.15 oz / 4.2 g of product on their website) in the shade Happy Thoughts (shimmery warm champagne) and concealed my under eyes using Catrice True Skin High Coverage Concealer ($6 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product on their website) in the shade 002 Neutral Ivory.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For cream blush I used ColourPop Super Shock Blush ($8 for 0.15 oz / 4.2 g of product on their website) in the shade Cheerio (deep cranberry). I set my under eyes using Catrice HD Baking & Setting Loose Powder ($12 for 0.81 oz / 23 g of product on their website) in the shade Transparent and the rest of the face using Catrice Prime and Fine Luminizing Waterproof Powder ($8 0.31 oz / 9 g of product on their website) in the shade radiant beige. I touched up my bronzer using Catrice Sun Lover Glow Bronzing Powder ($9 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product on their website) in the shade 010 Sun Kissed , my blush using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush ($29 for 0.2 oz / 5.67 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Blissful (bright rose) and the highlight at the temples, nose and cupid’s bow using BH Cosmetics Glowing in Greece Blush and Highlighter 6 Pan Palette ($17 for 0.56 oz / 15.88 g of total product on their website making it 0.93 oz / 2.65 g and $2.83 per shade) in the shade Olympia (shimmering gold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil () in the shade Shot Clock () and topped the lips with ColourPop Lip Stain ($9 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product on their website) in the shade Tinkerbell (soft gold with gold pin points). I gave my lashes 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths 3D Mascara ($9.99 for 0.27 oz / 7.56 g of product at Ulta) and popped on a pair of Ardell Double Up Wispies ($5.99 per pair at Ulta). I set my face using  Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace Setting Spray ($18 for 3.4 fl oz / 100 mL of product at Ulta). I did not need to touch up at all today.

Final Thoughts:

I just love turquoise and browns today… My whole home is this color scheme. I think, had I softened the line of delineation between the outer 1/3 and the cut crease just a bit more, I would have liked the look more…. I do like it, it’s just that something seems off.

Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation ($11 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product on their website) in the shade 002 Neutral Ivory, this foundation comes in 20 shades, 5 for fair, 5 for light, 5 for medium and 5 for deep) and is billed as a  long wearing, vegan foundation has medium, buildable coverage that gives your skin a natural “real skin” finish. Formulated with Hyaluronic acid and watermelon seed oil for intense hydration, the True Skin Hydrating Foundation has an ultra lightweight texture that melts into your skin. It claims to be Ultra lightweight and buildable.

I give this foundation a solid O+++!!! This foundation is stunning and super pigmented! I used 1 full pump and that was enough for my full face with a little extra left to blend in the other cream products. It stayed in place all day, no cracking, creasing or slipping. This is a fabulous foundation!!

Catrice True Skin High Coverage Concealer ($6 for 1.01 fl oz / 30 mL of product on their website) in the shade 002 Neutral Ivory, this concealer comes in 15 shades (4 for fair 4 for light, 4 for medium/tan and 3 for deep) and is billed as a waterproof, lightweight texture and provides up to 18 hours of hydrating, high coverage – and it’s vegan.

I give this concealer a solid O+++!!! As with the foundation this concealer is hella pigmented. I didn’t even put the concealer on my under eyes I used what was left over from cleaning up my nose contour to conceal the under eyes. This concealer is super creamy and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

ColourPop Super Shock Blush ($8 for 0.15 oz / 4.2 g of product on their website) in the shade Cheerio (deep cranberry) is billed as the famous Super Shock formula has a bouncy texture that delivers a healthy luminous glow that’s weightless, buildable, and super blendable.

I give this blush a solid A+++!! She is pigmented and has the most amazing undertones! This is the perfect fall time blush. It was easy to apply, didn’t disrupt the products underneath and really give the skin this in from the cold flush to the cheeks.

ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter ($9 for 0.15 oz / 4.2 g of product on their website) in the shade Happy Thoughts (shimmery warm champagne) is billed as the  famous Super Shock formula has a bouncy texture that creates the ultimate glow. It’s buildable, blendable, and so buttery soft.

I give this highlighter a solid O+++!!! This highlighter is so pretty!!! It’s well rounded in tone, it’s super dewy looking and shines through being powdered. I love this one so much more than I loved A Smile and a Song by ColourPop.

Catrice HD Baking & Setting Loose Powder ($12 for 0.81 oz / 23 g of product on their website) in the shade Transparent, there are 6 shades total, is billed as a silky smooth loose powder that sets makeup resulting in a flawless, airbrushed finished. It claims to be waterproof, ultra lightweight, mattifying and water repellant.

I give this setting powder a solid A+ This setting powder is not nearly as brightening as I thought it would be, especially since it’s a “baking” powder. It set the under eyes beautifully but there was no added benefit of brightening and that typically what I prefer for setting my eyes.

Catrice Prime and Fine Luminizing Waterproof Powder ($8 0.31 oz / 9 g of product on their website) in the shade radiant beige is billed as a silky waterproof powder with soft focus effect and very fine light-reflecting pigments that creates a long-lasting flawlessly mattified complexion with a natural luminous finish with a universal beige color adapts to every skin tone.

I give this pressed powder a solid A++ This setting powder is so bizarre. In the pan it looks like it is going to be too deep for me… on the skin it’s like it was made perfectly for me. It felt lightweight, creamy and lasted so long that I didn’t need to touch up my face at all. The one thing that it doesn’t seem to do is Illuminate the skin… since the powder boasts having light reflecting pigments one would deduce that it would be illuminating. this is not the case at all.

ColourPop Heart of Gold Disney Princess Super Shock Shadow 12 Piece Set .This set is billed as he Ultimate Princess Collection is here! We’re celebrating all your favorite Disney Princess characters with a vault of our iconic Super Shock Shadow. This vault features a mix of shimmering metallic pastel and vivid hues made just for princesses! Delivers bold, multi-dimensional colour in one swipe without creasing, fading or fallout. It retails for $62 and has a value of $84. If you purchase them individually they run for $7 but in the set it comes out to $5.17 per shade. Each pot is 0.074 oz / 2.1 g of product on their website.

I give the shades Arabian Nights (icy turquois with silver pin points) this shade represents Jasmine and Touch the Sky (teal with gold and teal pin points) this shade represents Merida a solid O+++!!! These are the first super shock shadows I have ever tried and damn they are exquisite! I now understand the hype behind these single pot shadows. I have never been one to really like single pots but if all the super shock shadows are this good I can already tell I’ll be purchasing more. They had just enough pigment that you can get away with 1 pass and not so much pigment that if you layer them you wont end up with a muddy mess.

Catrice Cheek Lover Oil-Infused Blush ($7 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product on their website) in the shade 010 Blooming Hibiscus (coral, peachy blush tone with ultra fine golden shimmer particles) is billed as a highly pigmented, baked powder blush infused with hibiscus oil which is rich with skin-enriching vitamins and claims to be a universally flattering shade.

I give this blush a solid D- I really wanted to love this one, truly I did… I thought this would be a super affordable dupe for the cult favorite NARS Orgasm… The swatch gave me false hope… on the skin the coral doesn’t come though.. it’s almost all gold sheen… I had to layer a few times and then go back in with a hint of my tarte blush to balance out the disco ball mess that is this blush…. I will attempt applying this blush with no highlighter on to see if I can get it to work but if that doesn’t work I will be decluttering this one from my collection.

Beauty Bakerie DO IT FOR THE GRAHAM 12 Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($38 for 1.2 oz / 33.6 g of total product at Ulta making it 0.1 oz / 2.8 g and $3.17 per shade) is billed as serves up twelve shades fresh from the kitchen for all your foil, matte, and duo-chrome eyeshadow cravings. I give this palette a tentative A+++ I only used 2 shades in this palette so I can’t speak to the over all quality however the 2 matte shades I used were divine!! They were creamy and blended out effortlessly. They were perfectly pigmented and played well with other formulas.

Catrice Insta Bae 12 Pan Palette (retails for $15 but is on sale for $12 for 0.44 oz / 12.5 g of product on their website making it 0.037 oz / 1.05 g and $1.25 at retail price or $1.00 at sale price per shade) is billed as an Instagram inspired palette will get you glammed up and ready for that #selfie in no time! I give this palette a tentative A+++ I only used 2 shades so I can’t speak to the quality of all the shades, if this palette is anything like the Basic Bae palette I know I’m going to love it… only time will tell.

Juvia’s Place The Masquerade Mini 16 Pan Palette (retail price $30 but on sale for $19.50 for 0.84 oz / 24 g of total product on their website making 0.053 oz / 1.5 g and $1.88 retail price and $1.22 at sale price per shade) is billed as vibrant, statement-making shades from The Masquerade Mini eyeshadow palette by Juvia’s Place. Full of natural earth tones and high-pigment, show-stopping pops of color, this palette will unleash your inner goddess. The shades from left to right are: Chi (royal blue with purple undertone – metallic), Mali (teal – metallic), Dalia (electric blue – metallic), Zola (aqua – metallic), Makeda (purple – shimmer), Zobo (purplish maroon – matte), Calabar (pink bronze – duochrome), Bori (fuchsia with gold reflects – sequin matte), Giza (ivory white – metallic), Burkina (coffee brown – matte), Cairo (cinnamon brown with gold reflects – metallic), Ada (spice brown – matte), Dahia (true gold – metallic), Zulu (rusty brown – matte), Casablanca (deep bronze – metallic) and Fulani (deep caramel brown – matte).

I give this palette a solid O+++!!! I only used a few shades but from the swatches and my experience with Juvia’s Place formula (which NEVER EVER let’s me down, they are very consistent in formula) I know I’m going to love every single shadow.
