Skin Care Haul May 2020

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I placed an order yesterday for some of my skin care needs on Amazon and they just came in so I thought I’d share them with you. So… let’s see what I purchased ….

The first 2 things I received were not skin care items but they came with the rest of my skin care items… those are:

The first thing I ordered were these super cute rose gold Makeup Sponge Drying Stand $6.28 for a 2 pack. I think these stands are super cute and since I’m trying to switch over my beauty nook to all rose gold (with teal accents to go with the rest of the house’s theme of teal and sea glass greens) I thought the rose gold ones were the best ones to get.

byAlegory Acrylic Compact Makeup Organizer $21.99 for 1 (10 slot) unit. I now have 2 more units so that I can space my bronzers, blushes, highlighters and face powders separately.  There isn’t enough space on my baker’s rack for the both of them so I moved all of the units
I put all 5 of the compact units on the 2nd shelves of this shelf unit that I was given by a friend last weekend.

Now on to the skin care items …..

The Time Revolution First Treatment Essence $28 for 5.07 fluid ounces. This is a first essence … all the rage in K Beauty, a first essence is applied as the first step to your daily skin routine to prep the skin with moister so that all the other products you use will sink into the skin faster and penetrate deeper. This first essence is a double moisturizing boosting essence that has yeast fermentation. This product claims to improve your skin tone, texture, and hydration level giving clarity and transparency to the skin. I haven’t had a first essence as part of my skin care routine but have been experimenting with better ways to improve my skin and thought I’d give it a try.
Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Essence $19.89 for 3.38 fluid ounces. This essence contains snail mucin that is a natural hyaluronic acid and has antimicrobial properties great for fighting off acne-causing bacteria and it also increases skin cell turn over. Snail mucin also reduces hyper pigmentation and has been known to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and is also a great source of copper peptides and also improves skin elasticity. This. again is another product that’s all the rage in K Beauty and I have never used this before but am keen to try it out to see what if any improvement this item can give me.
Ample:n Ceramide Shot Ampoule $15.99 for 1.01 fluid ounces. Cereamides strengthen skin barriers . This ampoule also contains Allantoin which is good to moisturize the skin. I have been doing research on Cereamides for a little bit and am keen to add this to my routine to strengthen my skin’s barrier.
Asterwood Naturals 100 % Hyaluronic Acid Serum (2 % solution) $11.90 for 1 fluid ounce. I have been using Hyaluronic Acid serums for 2 months now and have seen a vast improvement of my skins moister. I am down to my last bottle of the Good Molecules brand and they are currently out of stock on both their website and the Beautylish website so I thought I’d give this one a go. Hyaluronic acid draws water into the skin and helps keep it there and I’ve got to say that ever since I’ve incorporated it into my skin regimen my makeup application has been flawless and as a testament to the benefits of this product my husband just yesterday told me my skin has been looking smoother and more glowy. I’ve notice that my skin does not feel as tight as it use to and that my normally rough chin and forehead have now healed and are smooth and supple.

Klem Organics Vitamin C Face Serum $14.97 for 1 fluid ounce. This products claims are that it reduces wrinkles & fine lines while helping you to boost collagen, fade sun & age spots and that it improves your skin firmness, brightness, and tone for a smoother, fresher, more revitalized youthful complexion. This is my second bottle of this serum. I freaking LOVE this serum!!! It sort of smells like oranges and is a bit sticky but it’s such a lovely serum! Vitamin C promotes collagen production, strengthens the skin barrier, and diminishes fine lines. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that help protect skin from free radicals from UV sun exposure. My skin has this amazing glow to it ever since I started using it. The only down side to this specific serum is that it’s an air tight pump (meaning that there is a base that raises as you dispense product, essentially pushing the serum up to the top to dispense it). Because of this there is at least a weeks worth of serum that gets trapped at the top once the base has risen all the way to the top. To by pass this waste of product I have been using my Every Drop Beauty Spatula to push the base down some and scrape out the remains of the serum… I mean I’ve paid for 1 fluid ounce … I want as much of that as I can get.
Lanocreme Collagen Eye Serum made in New Zealand $21.99 for 1 fluid ounce. This product also contains Argan Oil & Magnolia Bark Extract. Collagen serums are designed to stimulate production of collagen that we start to loose in our 30’s… now that doesn’t mean that collagen serums will replace lost collagen, any collagen serum that claims to do this is lying because the molecules are too large to penetrate the dermis when applied topically, however what it does do is  fill in fine lines and help skin retain moisture resulting in tighter, smoother skin. and most dermatologists do agree that collagen serums do in fact stimulate the production of collagen. Now as for the Argan oil : this ingredient helps protect the skin from sun damage, is a great source to give added moister to the skin, and is a great source of antioxidants. And then we have the Magnolia Bark Extract… this extract has antibacterial and antioxidant properties. This extract offers free radical defense, adds in the reduction of fine wrinkles, and can make the skin appear firmer. This is the 2 bottle of this product (I’m still working on my first bottle, which has lasted 2 months). I have also been using the left overs (the pump dispense a little too much for just my eyes) on my lips and on this tiny little wrinkle I have between my brows. I haven’t noticed the fine lines under my eyes get any smaller, however my eyes have more of glow, look healthy, and have a firmness to them now and I have noticed the little wrinkle between my brows has gotten smaller and as for applying it to my lips, I have noticed that my lips are ever so slightly plumper and smoother and the fine lines of my lips are barely visible now. I really enjoy applying this serum to my face.
Timeless Skin Care 100% Squalane Oil $11.26 for 2 fluid ounces. This is squalane derived from olives. Squalane mimics your skin’s natural oils and has natural antioxidants and boosts hydration, is a skin detoxifier, fights damage from free radicals, and with regular use can boost collagen production. It also balances oil product. I really wanted a squalane serum but couldn’t find one with at least 2% solution so I opted to try the oil instead.
Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream $31.99 for 1.6 ounces. This is a back up purchase for me (I just opened my last one so I needed to get a back up). I purchased this product countless times over the past several years. It’s non greasy and rich. It sits well under makeup and keeps my face and neck smooth and supple.
Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum $26.69 for 1.7 fluid ounces. Again this is a back up tube. I just opened my last tube and so I needed 1 on deck. I’ve purchased this one countless times as well. I use the full line and have for about 5 years now. This is a very hydrating serum and leave the face and neck velvety smooth.

The next 3 items are still en route to me … I should have them all by Friday of this week coming…. those 3 things are:

Pearlessence Aloe + Rosewater Tonic Water Face Mist $12.95 for 8 fluid ounces. I normally use the Coconut + Rosewater tonic water but they were out so I’m trying this one. This is a back up I still have about 1/3 of the bottle of the Coconut + Rosewater tonic left. This new one claims that it revitalizes, soothes, and tones the skin after cleansing, replenishing precious nutrients. It can be used after cleansing, before moisturizing or throughout the day over makeup. I use this as a mist right before I apply my serums… it’s better to apply serums on a damp face so that they absorb into the skin more efficiently. I like it, it’s not the greatest tonic on the planet but it gets the job done and it’s only like $1.50 per ounce so it’s a reasonable price too.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Face Sunscreen Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 60 $29.99 for 1.75 fluid ounces. This is a back up. I’ve got about 1/2 to 1/3 of a bottle left. This face sunscreen is amazing! It gives added moister to the skin, is non greasy, doesn’t congest my skin, doesn’t disrupt my makeup, and doesn’t give off a white cast in pictures. I had a hard time finding a good face, neck, and ears sunscreen and I saw this one mentioned in a YouTube video by Cyrille Laurent , who was a researcher in stem cell biology. He has a way of breaking down the ingredients in skin care that makes you understand the science behind skin care. Most of what I use on my face now is because I took the time to view his videos on the different components to my skin care regimen. He suggested this one as a great sunscreen for under makeup and he was right. It’s phenomenal.
Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream $16.35 for .5 fluid ounces. This one again is a back up for me. I’m working on a tube that I opened a few weeks ago. I’ve purchased this (along with the rest of the line) over and over many times over the course of a few years and will continue to do so. The only down side of this eye cream is that you have to be careful to not use too much… if you use too much it has a burning sensation. I use a pea sized amount that I use on both eyes. It’s hydrating and before I started using this my lids were crepey and now they smoother and much more hydrated.

Well that’s the full haul …. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
