Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores) and the Makeup Revolution Soap Styler Brow Brush ($6 on their website) . I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I outlined and then filled in the tails of my brows using AOA Wonder Brow Pomade ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) in Dark Brown. I did the rest of my face and then came back and filled in the front of my brows using the Milani Weekend Brow Pen ($8.99 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.887 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Espresso. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using the Juvia’s Place i Prep i Prime Eye Primer ($12 for 0.406 fl oz / 12 mL on their website) in the shade 1.  For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Stone Cold Fox ($34 at Ulta and on the ColourPop website) and the Juvia’s Place The Nubian Glow 6 Pan Palette ($15 for 0.47 oz / 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz / 2.2 g and $2.5 per shade.) I’ll refer to the palettes as CP and JP. I started with the CP palette and to set my brow line I used the shade DreamFul (true white with silver pearl – sequin shadow). I then went in with the shade Quarry Days (dusty taupe – matte) as my transition shade from outer v of the crease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile all the way to the first shade I set my brow line with. I then went in with a combination of the shades Gravity Hill (dusty berry – matte), Ghost Town (dusty mauve – matte) and Bould Type (mink grey – matte) all through the crease, outer 1/2 of the mobile lid and a little further up towards the transition shade. I then went in with the shade Fickle Fate (hazelnut – matte) all over the whole lid from lash line to just above the crease. To deepen the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and further define the outer v of the crease I went in with the shade Drama Mama (deep brown – matte). I then took a flat shadder brush and Micellar Water and cut a half crease that I primed with more Juvia’s Place i Prep i Prime Eye Primer ($12 for 0.406 fl oz / 12 mL on their website) in the shade 1. I then switched to the JP palette and went in with the 3rd shade of the 1st row (gold reflects mixed with green pearls – shimmer) and buffed it all over the mobile lid. I then took the brush that I had used for the shade Fickle Fate (hazelnut – matte) and buffed what was left on the brush on the line of demarcation between the half cut crease and the outer 1/3 of the lids. I then took the the 2nd shade of the 1st row (rusty orange – mate) on a short shadder brush and tapped it over the very top of the half cut crease. I then took the 2nd shade of the 2nd row (gold reflects mixed with green pearls – pressed glitter) and tapped that over the mobile lid for added texture. I then took an orange glitter liner and swiped it over the outer most part of the upper part of the cut crease (the area that touches the brown mattes). I lined my lower water lines using LA Girl Shockwave Lip Liner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Outrage (neon orange). For the bottom lash line I created a deep drop shadow using more of the shade Quarry Days (dusty taupe – matte). I then went in with more of the 2nd shade of the 1st row (rusty orange – mate) for JP and then topped that with more of the shade Fickle Fate (hazelnut – matte). I used what was left on the brush I used for with the shade Drama Mama (deep brown – matte) to deepen the lash line and then went in with some orange glitter liner to add dimension to the very center of the lash line. I then took the shade Rock Bottom (deep black – matte) from the CP palette to deepen the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and the very outer part of the outer v of the crease on the lids. I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes using the 3rd shade of the 2nd row (white gold and champagne pearls – shimmer) from the JP palette.

Complexion:

I primed my face using NARS Radiance Primer ($36 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL at Sephora). I contoured using Milk Flex Foundation Stick ($36 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Rich (very deep with neutral undertones). For foundation today I used NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation ($49 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Light 5 Fiji (for light to medium skin with neutral undertones)… to lighten the foundation up a bit I used LA Girl Pro Matte Mixing Pigment ($8.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta)…. I used 2 pumps of the blue shade to neutralize the olive undertone, since I no longer tan and 3 pumps of the white shade to lighten the foundation, since I am no longer light to medium in tone and am more fair to light in tone. I cream bronzed using Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Contour ($5.99 for 0.28 fl oz / 8.28 mL of product on their website) in the shade Café Au Lait. I color corrected my under eyes using Makeup Revolution Makeup Revolution Conceal & Correct Concealer ($7 for 0.77 fl oz / 22.77 mL of product on their website) in the peach shade and then concealed the under eyes and bridge of my nose using Makeup Revolution Revolution Pro Ultimate Radiant Under Eye Concealer ($7 for 0.15 fl oz / 4.5 mL of product on their website in the shad c1. I highlighted the high points of the face using bareMinerals Bare Pro Glow Highlighter ($29 but on sale for $23 for 0.47 oz / 14 mL of product on their website) in the shade Free (champagne).

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For cream blush I used NARS Liquid Blush ($30 for 0.5 fl oz/ 15 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Orgasm (coral with golden shimmer). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 for 0.14 oz/ 4.2 g of product at Sephora) and the rest of my face using Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder ($34 for 0.71 oz/ 20 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Cupcake (fair to light skin tones. pink undertones brighten and disguise under-eye darkness.) I touched up my bronzer using Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($26 for 0.04 oz/ 1.3 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Radiant Bronze Light (a warm bronze shade fused with Radiant Light to mimic a summer glow ideal for medium/deep complexions), my blush using ColourPop Cookie Cluster Blush Palette ($12 for 0.3 oz / 8.50 g of total product on their website making it 0.075 oz / 2.13 g and $3 per shade) in the shade oh gingersnap! (bright pinky coral – matte), and my highlighter using Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($9.99 for 0.3 oz /8.50 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Afterglow (champagne). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink (terracotta rose) and topped my lips with BECCA Cosmetics Ultimate Lipstick Love (no longer available) in the shade Dune (medium peachy nude). I did 1 coat of Huda Beauty LEGIT LASHES Double-Ended Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara (this is a 100 point perk from Sephora) and popped on a pair of Eylure Vegas Nay Grand Glamour False Lashes ($12.99 for a 3 pack at Ulta). I filled in the rest of my brows and created the hair flicks throughout the brows. I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 fl oz / 100.01 mL of product at Ulta). I used my setting spray at several points in my makeup application so I did not need a touch up powder today.

Final Thoughts:

I have always shied away from oranges because I never thought it would look good on me… but this is a great way to introduce a pop of a color that you otherwise wouldn’t use to get your feet wet… I loved the way this look came together, I loved the pop of rusty orange mixed with paler shades of orange on the lids… and I would wear this look again.

Juvia’s Place The Nubian Glow 6 Pan Palette ($15 for 0.47 oz / 13.2 g of total product on their website making it 0.078 oz / 2.2 g and $2.5 per shade.) is billed as a beautiful selection of warm toned oranges and golds.

I give this palette a solid A+++!!! : The metallics are buttery, the matte was creamy and the shades worked well with the ColourPop shadows. It’s not a palette that can be used to get a full look with… well not one that isn’t monochromatic, so I didn’t give it a higher grade, however I have always loved the Juvia’s Place formulas and have never had a poor experience with their palettes, I would venture to say that Juvia’s Place shadows are the best formula on the market.

And with that today’s walkthrough is done…

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and the you are in great spirits and health.

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.👄
