Green Smokey Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up really late today… was up late last night feeling nauseous so I didn’t get out of bed until around 1 PM and I didn’t get to my makeup until much later so this look wont be on my face very long today.

I wanted to play around with some green eye shadow since I typically only use green from Christmas. I used shadows form 3 Juvia’s Place palettes today.

For today I am wearing Katy Perry Royal Revolution perfume. So let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I primed my face using Believe Beauty Pretty and Primed Hydrating Primer ($5 only at Dollar General Stores) and over my pores I used Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta). I then used Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 3. For foundation today I chose Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear ($47 at Ulta) in the shade 270 Bisque Warm. To contour and bronze my face I used the NYX Pro Foundation Palette ($35 at Ulta). I highlighted the high points of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight. I concealed my under eyes using Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer ($22 at Ulta) in the shade 3.  I set my concealer using  Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set my bronzer using Rimmel London Natural Bronzer ($3.49 at Walmart) in the shade 022 Sun Bronze.  set the rest of the face using  Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the shade translucent. I didn’t choose a touch up powder since I wont be wearing my makeup for too much longer.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash ($6.99 at Ulta) in clear and filled in my brows using Revolution Pro Define and Fill Brow Pencil ($8 at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed the rest of my lids using the  P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used shadows from the Juvia’s Place Nubian II ($20 at Ulta), Warrior II ($20 at Ulta), and Warrior III ($20 at Ulta) palettes. I started with the Warrior II and used the shade ZAZ (eggshell white matte) to set my brow line. I then used the shade Kana (rosy dove grey matte) as my crease shade. For my outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the outer v of the crease I took a combo of the shade Shawata (charcoal black matte) and the shade Maasai (true grass green matte) form the Warrior III palette. For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Egypt (royal green metallic) from the Nubian II palette. For the lower lash line I went in with more of the shade Kana to start to create a drop shadow but then decided to layer it up with more of the combo of Shawata and Maasai. I then took more of the shade Egypt over the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line to add just a hint of light to the bottom lash line because I thought it was too dark. I high lighted my inner corners using Zuri (ivory metallic) from the Nubian II palette. I tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil ($8 at Ulta) in the shade black. I created a micro wing using Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($22 at Ulta) in the shade Intense Black. I coated my lashes with 1 coat of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes and then I then popped on a pair of Obsidian Cosmetics Lashes ($7.99 on their Etsy website) in the style Barbie.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing NYX Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa See Oil Jelly Cheek Color ($10 on their website) in the shade Coral Dream. I used just a touch of ColourPop x Disney Designer Collection (was limited edition) in the shade A Smile and a Song (golden champagne) to the high points of the face. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Bumble (warm rose) and filled the lips in using ColourPop Lippie Stix (was sold in the BIg Box of Lippie Stix Vault and no longer available in the shade Cookie (warm brown nude matte). I finished off my look with Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way … I used the middle shade called Soft Focus as a finishing powder.

Final Thoughts:

I have a small haul that I will be sharing in my next post … 1 item from NYX the Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa See Oil Jelly Cheek Color, and a palette that I put together from ColourPop.

I will say that I would grade the NYX Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa See Oil Jelly Cheek Color a B- …. it’s very finicky and goes on a bit patchy but I was able to make it work. It’s a very strange texture. It doesn’t mess with the products underneath but doesn’t build on it’s self very well … that’s where it goes patchy. I used it with a beauty sponge and that works for the most part. I did layer it up a few times to get color payoff. I’m happy to have it as part of my collection but will not be buying any other shades and will not be repurchasing it when I’ve finished it.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and good spirits.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO, Nita
