Smokey Purple Eyed Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing OK today…. my muscles are still hurting and my energy is a bit low today but all in all I’m doing OK.

I wanted to explore the ColourPop Garden Variety Palette and I wanted to test out the purples …. purple can be a tough color to produce …. I have to say, these purples were amazing. They buffed out well with no patchiness and no skipping, the color pigment was fully saturated and I noticed that the kick back and fall out were less intense than they were with the shades I used yesterday.

For today’s eye look I used mostly the Garden Variety Palette but I also used 2 shades from the Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Basic Mattes Palette.

Today’s scent is Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle. The scent notes are simple in this one: Wild berries, Violet Flowers, and White Woods.

Now on to the walk through of today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I primed my face using I Heart Revolution Coconut Dream Hydrating Primer ($8 at Ulta) and primed my pores using Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta). I added a tough of glow using Pixi by Petra Flawless Beauty Primer ($22 at Target and on the Pixi website) to the high points of the face. I contoured my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium Dark. For foundation today I used the ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation ($14 on their website) in the shade 30N (neutral foundation for fair skin tones) again. I bronzed my face using Tarte SEA Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Grace Bay. I color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in Brightening Peach. For concealer today I am using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Creamy Concealer ($9 on their website) in the shade fair 20N (neutral concealer for fair skin tones). I highlighted the high points of my face using the ELF Jelly Highlighter ($6 on their website) in the shade Dew (gold).  I set my under eyes using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set the rest of my face using ELF Halo Glow Setting Powder ($8 on their website) in the color Light. I touched up the bronzer on my face using the Benefit Hoola Bronzer from the Babe on Board Palette (limited edition but you can purchase Hoola as a single for $30 at Sephora ). For touch ups I am using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish ($36 at Ulta) in the shade Medium Golden.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using Pixi by Petra Endless Brow Gel Pen ($10.99 at Target) in the shade Deep. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed my lids using the P Louise Base ($13.07 on their website or at Morphe’s website ) in the shade Rumour. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Garden Variety Palette ($20 on their website) and 2 shades from the Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Basic Mattes Palette ($8 on their website).  I set my brow line using the 1st shade of the 1st row (creamy pale beige – matte). I used the 1st shade of the 2nd row (cool toned light brown – matte) as my transition shade. I then switched to the Garden Variety Palette. For my crease shade I used the color Stay Sharp (warm mid-tone brown – matte). I deepened the outer v and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid using the shade Stuck On You (plum – matte). For the middle 1/3 or a bit more than 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Smudge Off (pinky purple with silver pearl – metallic). I then used the shade Synergy (icy pink with a teal shift – metallic) for the remaining part of the mobile and wrapped it around the tear duct to act as an inner corner highlight. For the lower lash line I created a deep drop shadow using more of the 1st shade of the 2nd row (cool toned light brown – matte). I then used more of the shade Stay Sharp (warm mid-tone brown – matte) for more depth to the drop shadow and then deepened the lower lash line using more of the shade Stuck On You (plum – matte). I lined my lower waterlines using the ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($7 on their website) in the shade Mamacita (deepened blackberry).  I coated my lashes with Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) and popped on a pair of Alter Ego False Lashes ($5 on their website) in the style Flare.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($28 at Sephora) in the shade Perk (coral). I lightly set that with Benefit Blush from the Babe on Board Palette (limited edition and not sold as a single) in the shade Rockabye (dusty berry pink). I touched up my highlighter using Benefit Boxed Highlighter from the Babe on Board Palette (limited edition but you can purchase Hoola as a single for $30 at Sephora ) in the shade Dandelion Twinkle (nude pink). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (Only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault – currently sold out) in the shade Another Round (rosey nude) and then topped off the lips with ColourPop Ultra Gloss Lip ($7 on their website) in the shade Spacemaker (pinky coral).

Final Thoughts:

I have been really loving smokey plums and berries lately. I think it’s cause it’s almost fall time and I’m in a Halloween is almost here kinda spirit!

I’m going to use the try an all coral type look and also a neutral eye look as well with this ColourPop palette. Let’s see how the looks I have in mind turn out.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

XOXO, Nita
