Orange Monochromatic Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Mentally I’m doing better but physically … not so much. My body really hurts today and I did not sleep well at all.

For today’s look I used the ColourPop Through My Eyes Palette ($24 on their website) since I wanted to play around with more of the shades in it.

Today’s scent is JLo Love and Glamour. The scent notes are:

  • Top Notes: Italian Mandarin, Guava and Nectarine.
  • Middle Notes: Coconut Orchid, Water Lily, Orange Blossom and Jasmine.
  • Base Notes: Amber, Sandalwood, and Musk.

Time for the walk through of today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I first primed using Good Molecules Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer ($14 on their website and on the Beautylish website). I then primed the face using Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer ($30 at Sephora). I contoured the face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Medium Deep. For foundation today I am using Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Long Wear Foundation ($6.99 at Target Stores) in the shade #102 Light Nude. I bronzed my face using Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer ($28 at Sephora) in the shade Baked. I color corrected using Believe Beauty Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in the shade Light/Medium. For concealer I chose Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Vanilla (fair neutral). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora) and then set the rest of my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I touched up the bronzer using J Cat Golden Soleil Baked Bronzer ($7.99 on their website) in the shade Cancun Tan. For touch ups I am using J Cat Aquasurance Compact Foundation ($13.99 at Ulta but currently on sale for $9.79) in the shade Natural.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in the shade Clear and then filled in my bows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using Makeup Revolution Cut Crease Canvas ($9 on their website) in the shade Halo (pure white). For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Through My Eyes Palette ($24 on their website). I started by setting my brow lines using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Eyeshadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (icy white – shimmer). As my transition shade I used a combo of the shades Sandalwood (soft light beige – matte) and Wild Soul (dusty mustard yellow – matte). For the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids and the crease I used a combo of the shades In a Wink (soft pastel peach – matte) and Euphoric (bright true orange – matte). I deepened the outer v of the crease using the shade Canela (soft terracotta sprinkled with gold glitter – sequin matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lids I used the shade Mesmer-eyez (orange gold – metallic). I then tapped just a hint of the shade Lucido (light gold – metallic) over just the inner part of the inner 1/3 of the mobile lids. For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using the combo of the shades Sandalwood (soft light beige – matte) and Wild Soul (dusty mustard yellow – matte). I then went in with more of the shade Euphoric (bright true orange – matte). I then deepened the lash line a bit using more of the shade Canela (soft terracotta sprinkled with gold glitter – sequin matte). I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes with more of the shade Lucido (light gold – metallic). I tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault – currently out of stock) in the shade Chi Chi (bright true orange).  I coated my upper and lower lashes using L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black ($8.99 at Ulta) and popped on a pair of Alter Ego False Lashes ($5 on their website) in the style Plush.

Cheeks and Lips:

For my cheeks today I chose Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($28 at Sephora) in the shade Perk (coral). I set that lightly using BH Cosmetics Glowing in Greece Palette ($16 on their website) in the shade Santorini (terracotta – satin). I touched up my highlighter using the same palette in the shade Athens (cold toned pinkish peach highlighter). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault – currently out of stock) in the shade Chi Chi (bright true orange). I topped my lips off using ColourPop Lippie Stix (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Stix Vault – currently out of stock) in the shade Parachute (vibrant coral red– matte).

Final Thoughts:

I had originally set out to try and create a sunrise eye look but It didn’t really turn out the way I had planed in my head. It’s still pretty just I wanted a bit more spring time sunrise vibes … I’ll have to add the look I wanted to my list of looks to do for a future post.

Well that’s all for today dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

XOXO, Nita
