Coral Monochromatic Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your Saturday going? Great I hope. I’m doing ok. Slept in today so I feel a bit stiff but other than that I feel pretty good.

I’ve started sketching out potential looks for my wedding renewal and today is the first time I tried one of the looks out….

For this look I used 2 ColourPop 9 pan palettes, Coast to Coral ($14 for 0.3 oz / 9.0 g of total product making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade) and Big Poppy ($14 for 0.3 oz / 9 g of total product making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade).

Today’s scent it:

Elizabeth Arden White Tea Vanilla Orchid ($42 for 1.7 fl oz / 50.28 mL of product at Ulta) was released in 2019 and is billed as an invitation to warmth and comfort that is an opulent, innocent, alluring floral fragrance that brings you to a place of warm tranquility.

Top Notes: Lemon, Bergamot Elemi Oil (same family as Frankincense and Myrrh) and Quince.

Heart Notes: Vanilla Orchid, Dewy Jasmine, White Tea and Gardenia.

Base Notes: Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Orris, Vanilla, Amber and Musk

What I think of this scent: As I said in my haul yesterday is such a beautiful scent. It’s a warm floral that finishes a bit spicy. It’s perfect for sun dresses and flip flops. I also think this is great for a date night scent too.

On to the walk through for today’s Monochrome Coral Face of the Day…..

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil ($17 for 0.0008 oz/ 0.023 g at Sephora) in the shade #7 Black Brown (black hair with warm undertones, this is Huda’s shade). I carved out my brows and primed the lids using P.Louise Base ($13.88, Ā£10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s look I used the Coast to Coral ($14 for 0.3 oz / 9.0 g of total product making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade) and Big Poppy ($14 for 0.3 oz / 9 g of total product making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade) from ColourPop. I started by setting my brow line the shade day tripper (pastel peach – matte) from the poppy palette. I then popped into the coral palette and used the shade angelfish (midtone coral- matte)as my crease shade and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I took this shade up past the crease just a little bit and then from the same palette I took the shade anemone (vibrant coral- matte) and did the 50/50 method where you place the brush 50% on the previous shade and 50% on clean skin… so I put the brush 1/2 on the crease shade and 1/2 on the transition area just bellow the brow line. I then popped into the poppy palette and took the shade groovin’ (chestnut brown – matte) all over the outer v of the crease and the outer 1/2 of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I created a 1/2 cut crease using more P.Louise base and then applied the shade atoll (warm golden peach with a gold flip- metallic) all over the newly cut crease. I then took the shade diver (bright red orange coral with a gold flip) and tapped that over the middle 1/3 of the cut crease and then the shade the keys (red coral with a gold flip – metallic) over the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($21 for 0.25 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Grind (light pink iridescent glitters on a milky white base) and drew a line of glitter on the line of demarcation between the transition and the new cut crease. For the lower lash line I started by creating a deep drop shadow with more of the shade anemone (vibrant coral- matte) and then I deepened the look using the shade keep swimming (peachy coral with silver and gold pinpoints – sequin matte). I then deepened the lash line using more of the shade groovin’ (chestnut brown – matte) from the poppy palette and then finally I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using more of the shade atoll (warm golden peach with a gold flip- metallic). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF CrĆØme Gel Liner ($5 but no longer available on their website) in the shade Bae Breeze (warm toned light coral).

Complexion:

I primed my facing using Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer – Illuminating ($39 for 1.7 oz/ 50 mL and $20 for  0.8 oz/ 25 mL at Sephora).I color corrected my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 for 0.16 oz/ 4.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Light to Medium (pearlized, peachy-pink).  I concealed using Revolution Pro Ultimate Radiant Under Eye Concealer ($12 for 0.15 fl oz /4.5 mL of product on their website) in the shade C1 (their lightest shade). Final Thoughts:

I really love the way this look came out. I don’t think it will be the look for my wedding renewal, it might be a little too bold for a formal event… but I really did like it so who knows.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.
